El cantábrico está en calma, y en el horizonte las nubes reflejan sobre la playa póstumos rayos de sol, que saturan el verde de los líquenes adheridos a las rocas, y acaban convirtiéndolos en una materia luminiscente que espera con ansia la obscuridad que se aproxima.....

My (hopefully final) version of the gargantuan sea monster that haunts the narrator of the tale “Dagon”, one of the earliest written by H.P. Lovecraft. I have tried to depart from the usual depiction of the primal creature as a gigantic Deep One, the smaller ocean-dwelling species that worships Dagon himself. So I have designed a cross between an armoured prehistoric fish, a sharp-toothed, luminiscent abyssal creature and a walking fish with powerful fins. Graphite on paper with some digital tweaking on the farthest pencil background to achive the effect of deep, dark submarine currents and to enhance some reflections of light. ---------------------- ^( ;,,; )^ ---------------------- Mi versión final (esperemos...) del monstruo marino que persigue al narrador del cuento "Dagón", uno de los primeros escritos por H.P. He tratado de apartarme de la imagen con que se le retrata habitualmente como un gigantesco Profundo, esa especie más pequeña que habita los océanos de los Mitos de Cthulhu, adoradores del propio Dagón. Así que he diseñado un cruce entre un pez prehistórico blindado, una criatura abisal luminiscente de dientes afilados y un pez de los que caminan usando poderosas aletas. Grafito sobre papel con leves ajustes digitales sobre fondos marinos y reflejos luminosos.

Nueva búsqueda de formas de luz con las que practicar en esto de la pintura de luz, en este caso probando un nuevo efecto, y basándome un poco en la forma de las Noctámbulas de Pedro Javier Alcazar, pero utilizando otras herramientas y tratándo de no hacerlas iguales, ya se irá viendo las formas que adquieren estas plantas de luz con el tiempo.
En la foto del centro, que es la primera que hice, ya me di cuenta de que era recomendable ropa oscura a la hora de utilizar esta nueva herramienta.
Esto de crear formas de luz en la oscuridad cada vez me tiene más enganchado, y me gusta mucho las sensaciones mientras estoy creando estas cosas, ir viendo que movimientos hay que hacer, que movimientos no hay que hacer, como encender y apagar cada herramienta, en que dirección orientarla..., muchos detalles que te hacen aprender prueba tras prueba, y sentir la pasión de crear en la oscuridad con luces de todo tipo.

Quallenplage auf Mallorca 2013
Leider sind die schönsten Strände von Mallorca im Frühjahr 2013 von einer Quallenplage befallen: Pelagia noctiluca (Feuerquallen, Leuchtquallen).
Feuerquallen haben Tentakel mit Nesselkapseln, die bei Berührung mit der Wucht einer Gewehrkugel winzige Stiletten durch die Haut ihrer Opfer jagen und sie betäuben oder töten, um sie dann Richtung Mund zu transportieren. 10.000 Giftzellen auf jedem Zentimeter.
Dieses Exemplar machte mit Tausenden anderen Tieren das Baden in der wunderschönen Bucht Cala oder Caló des Màrmols ('Marmorbucht') im Südosten Mallorcas unmöglich.
Ya era hora de probar algo que tenía unos días en la cabeza, el tratar de que estos seres de luz desprendan luz de verdad y no sean un pegote ahí en el paisaje, teniendo en cuenta la dirección de la luz desde la que se ilumina, para hacer el efecto de que parezca el propio ser el que desprende la luz que ilumina la escena, algo que no es fácil, y que de momento no he conseguido con los resultados que yo buscaba, aun me faltan pulir muchos detalles, en este caso sobre todo tres, la sombra que creé yo en la parte derecha, el rellenar un poco más algunas de esas zonas más negras y iluminar directamente debajo de donde creé el ser para no dejar esa transición tan brusca en la parte de abajo.
Ya habrá tiempo de volver a por esta imagen bien planificada y teniendo en cuenta todos estos detalles.
En este caso la iluminación radial se creo iluminando pocos segundos con linterna luz cálida rebotada en una pequeña piedra que se encuentra justo detrás del ser
Cada chispa de luz, es una nota musical que compone una hermosa melodía.
En el momento de tomar esta foto, imagine que cada curva y cada chispa componían una canción clásica, imaginándome la explosión de sentimientos y emociones que puede causar la música y decidí representar todo esto con una clave de sol en medio de la obscuridad

Otro intento de crear un ser de luz que desprenda luz de verdad, de nuevo sin lograrlo como yo quería.
Voy a tener que hacerlo sin prisas, ya que esa noche y la de la otra prueba iba de senderismo e hice pocas pruebas de esta idea, y así jugar con las luces es muy complicado, sobre todo cuando estás experimentando y no sabes aun muy bien lo que saldrá, pero poco a poco.

Pez tragador de las profunidades con enorme boca y muchas filas de dientes torcidos. Tiene una luz roja cerca de la boca con afilados dientes, una bioluminiscencia natural infrarroja que usa para detectar presas en la oscuridad.
