I always forget how long it takes to carve a lino block, print, revise that block, print again, revise and print yet again. Think this one’s as done as it’ll get. #metroperspective #lenfant #dc #linocut #linoprint
©2012 Julia Forsyth, EAGLE OWL EMERGING FROM HIS MATTE MEDIUM HIBERNATION, paper on lino block, 5" x 8"
This is a pic of what the copied drawing looks like about a quarter of the way revealed. The drawing transferred from the paper onto the lino block. I'm gently coaxing it out by dabbing the paper with a damp paper towel in small sections. Then I slowly rub in a circular motion to find a hacked-looking eagle owl staring back at me through his paper haze.

Linocut printed at the East London Printmakers on the Albion press.
Very pleased with how it came out using the press - much more crisp than when I used my bodyweight to print!
All prints available for sale - message / DM for details, or visit my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/Inkysloth
lino print for mermaid theme exhibition in Nov 2011. The text says - she considers joining the mermaids. I exhibited one that was a collage of the prints on different coloured papers and handcoloured with pencil, but I don't have a photo of that!!
Heike of Felicitate88 sent in her whimsical linoprints, postcards and ACEOs for August's PikaPackage Project!
An old book project in form of a "double fold out pages" book bound in japanese stab binding which I made quiet a while ago with own photographies and graphics.
The title means "Structures" and every fold out page features two photographies with a similar structure - one found as a natural shape and the other as a shape in architecture or industry. Every two photos have a cover sheet with a graphic showing the featured shape in abstract form. The front cover was made of a linoprint and has an uneven "structured" surface which lets you feels the books theme with your fingertips.
Hand pulled lino print on vintage paper using oil based printing inks. Tulips are my favourite flowers so I couldn't resist! I love the vintage quality to lino prints which remind me of Edwardian wood cuts.
Original lino print "Collared Doves in Summer Rain". This is an original lino cut print (edition of 30). Printed from two hand-cut lino "plates" in pale yellow (dotted with small "raindrops") and shades of grey with an oil-based but water washable ink on to Zerkall paper.

Just cut a new 5x7 block to make some promotional flyers for the Maker Faire coming up this weekend (May 22nd/23rd, San Mateo Fairgrounds). I'm happy to report that these flyers are much easier to print than the full sized poster I cut in March, and use 1/20th of the ink. We'll be printing these at the Museum Proper booth all day Saturday and Sunday - stop by and pick one up.
This is one example for my new series of mo.no = modular notebooks.
You can choose the title, and the design on the lower half, both made from hand cut, hand printed lino. The binding is always this butterfly buttonhole binding, but you can choose the color of the book linen that I use, and whether you want the back cover blank like it is done in the example, or printed, too.
