©2014 Julia Forsyth, California Quail, Sharpie and pencil on linoleum block, 8" x 10" I love summer - I got a huge chunk of work done today!
I spent a morning printing my new linocuts, plus a couple of old ones. I'm making cards ready for a craft fair in July.

relief print of dolls done circa 1997. printed on lightweight print paper using oil based printing ink.
I always forget how long it takes to carve a lino block, print, revise that block, print again, revise and print yet again. Think this one’s as done as it’ll get. #metroperspective #lenfant #dc #linocut #linoprint
©2012 Julia Forsyth, EAGLE OWL EMERGING FROM HIS MATTE MEDIUM HIBERNATION, paper on lino block, 5" x 8"
This is a pic of what the copied drawing looks like about a quarter of the way revealed. The drawing transferred from the paper onto the lino block. I'm gently coaxing it out by dabbing the paper with a damp paper towel in small sections. Then I slowly rub in a circular motion to find a hacked-looking eagle owl staring back at me through his paper haze.

Linocut printed at the East London Printmakers on the Albion press.
Very pleased with how it came out using the press - much more crisp than when I used my bodyweight to print!

lino print for mermaid theme exhibition in Nov 2011. The text says - she considers joining the mermaids. I exhibited one that was a collage of the prints on different coloured papers and handcoloured with pencil, but I don't have a photo of that!!
