A cold front on the night of July 11, 2020, brought a much-needed break to the dry conditions and high temps that have plagued Northern Illinois in the first part of July. As is typical for these summer weather patterns, it bought with it a severe-warned thunderstorm. It was a very prolific lightning producer, and was accompanied by an impressive shelf cloud. But as the sun set, the storm slowed, and by the time it go to me, it wasn't producing the same amounts of lightning as it was just 15 minutes previous. Even so, I managed to capture a few bolts, and this is one of them. We still got a half inch of rain out of the system too.

WOW, what a morning I experienced on Tuesday with my good friend Stephen Cheatley. We decided at 1am, to visit Jodrell Bank as a fierce lightning storm was fast approaching. Once we were in position inside the back of Stephen's VW van for safety (and to seek shelter from the heavy rain).
The power and intensity of a full blown lightning storm is exhilarating and humbling as everything around you illuminates incredibly brightly. This particular shot was captured at 1.53am at perhaps the height of the storm. Lightning was flashing in every direction and in quick succession too. It felt amazing to be experiencing it first hand and it certainly has you feel alive yet small in the presence of something so powerful.

“I wonder where it all comes from - this need to go to the place where the body has been laid to rest. It's the need to reconfirm how precious someone was and how irreplaceable, and the desire to reconnect with them on a different plane.”
― Takashi Hiraide, The Guest Cat
P.S. I started reading The Guest Cat, one of my many book purchases of the year. This quote really hit me hard as many others. One of the best things I got from Kagami event is booN's kura Ruined Hokora. I am in love! I really love the movie Spirited Away and there is a part in the beginning about Hokoras. In every sim design I do, they will always be around. Anyways, the quote somehow seemed to go well with my new ruined Hokora!
Come visit Lightning Bolt, it has a month left then it will be gone forever!
Spring storm across the Oklahoma Panhandle. Two of my favorite things to photograph ... windmills and lightning.

Tip for those who wants to do the hair/helmet combo themselfes; paint the lightningbolts and the hair before gluing them together. painting them was the hardest part of this figure aside from of course making the hair and mask fit together in the first place.
So the updated parts here are the mask and the legs. For now I settled with a barry allen flash head underneath the mask but I might change that sometime in the future.

Lightning strikes the Dragoon Mountains north of Tombstone, AZ. A combination of three images layered.
It was all fun and games watching this lightning show but getting my camera to cooperate was a different story. We were speaking different languages and I missed way more than I captured. When the rain started, my husband told me we better move. A few minutes later we were in 70-80 mph winds. Mother Nature sure was a fun hater this night.

Ce soir plusieurs orages se sont succèdés dans le ciel Bordelais, j'ai photographié entre autres ces quelques éclairs au dessus de la ville....
Bon dimanche à toutes et à tous
This evening several storms followed one another in the Bordeaux sky, I photographed among other things these few lightning above the city ...
Good Sunday to you all
A single 8 second exposure that was only cropped to straighten. It was an amazing light show tonight in Beaver County. Just one of the many lightning photos I captured tonight.
Driving home one night we came across this scene. The lightning was pretty far away but it was pretty eerie looking so had to stop.

Many times, when thunderstorm and bad weather is on horizon or my favorite app, lightningmaps.org shows some possible lightning, I will set up my camera with the pluto trigger.
Still most of the time, lightning is passing on on side or the other, just not in front of my camera placed on my balcony.
But out of 14 shots, quite a few, I got two with lightning strokes , not to bad-
My favourite lightning is when a lightning strike leaves the top of the thundercloud and strikes down a couple of kilometers outside the cloud.
Here is one, shot with slide film and a wide-angle lens, so I cropped the scanned image a bit.
This is why I gave my shift away at work yesterday. It was totally worth it.
I have wanted to get a shot like this for years; a massive lightning bolt over the most popular view of my home town.
DO NOT RE-POST WITHOUT MY PERMISSION
Taken early morning at Panama City Beach FL!! Remember God's forgiveness is real for His children, so live today grateful for this.. Thanks for stopping by, and have a blessed week!!!
This shot was taken from the land side of the condo in Panama City Beach, FL. The storm was moving from the ocean to the land, and I was able to catch this before the rains came pouring down. I did not expect to catch any lightning when this happened. We have many opportunites to help and love others, not always where we would expect it, but God can use us anywhere! Thanks for dropping by and have a blessed day!
I've not had many opportunities to photograph lightning this year. It is my favorite thing to photograph so praying this week will be lucky for me.

Nocturnal non-tornadic supercell with several multiple lightning strikes. This is a quintuple one. On the far left side, one can observe the rotating wall cloud. A funnel has been observed. No confirmed contact with the ground. Athens, Greece, Oct. 13, 2021.

Storm at Panama City Beach Florida! In our lives we have the opportunity to influence many different people, let's bring Jesus into the room with us when we talk with them! Thank's for dropping by and have a blessed day!!!
So here he is finally! :)
The helmet and shoulders are sculpted out of graystuff. Other thanthat the entire figure is painted.
I couldn't fit all the leg detail that is in the game but I think the legs overall turned out good. I'm superhappy with the rest.
I didn't put on the lightningbolt on the boots. I couldn't decide if I wanted to have them painted or 3D. They might be added later.
Hope you enjoy it :)
I right now put all the time I can on injustice 2 green arrow.
