More leaving it till the last minute tonight and one which came to me whilst half watching the football on tv.
Two tripod positions and a third tripod to spin the blade.
I exposed and positioned the off centre blade rotation first to fall on the left hand third of the frame. Once happy with the positioning and the light form I extended the tripod, swapped lenses and worked on lighting and positioning me. Focused where the light form would be and dialled in the settings for the flash through the beauty dish. I left a marker on the floor and reverted the set up to the beginning.
I fired the shutter and started the blade rotation. One 360 of the blade for each 7 turns of the camera rotation tool until back at the start. I replaced the lens cap, swapped lenses, moved the blade tripod, took up position, removed the lens cap and popped the beauty dish with my spare hand.
A couple of goes and got it spot on.
All shot in complete darkness with minimal edits and a 16:9 crop in Lightroom for mobile.

For Riley's recent birthday we bought him his first camera. It's been awesome watching him mooch about photographing the things which catch his eye. One thing which caught my eye was that his camera can do 15 second exposures so we got it out after beavers and had a quick faff before bed. Happy times.
As the blades were out and Riley was asleep I decided to put them to good use. Blade rotation with the Samyang 14mm followed by a mid-exposure lens swap to the modded Helios 44-2 and some bokeh rotation.

Lightblading with stacked diamond blades. White light trail from LPB Plexiglass Diamond connected via LPB Universal Connector to a Klarus XT2CR (on medium/100lm mode). Cyan light trail from custom diamond light blade connected to Ledlenser P7QC (on low blue mode). Post processed from 4sec RAW exposure in Adobe Lightroom 6, including hue adjustment.

Foul British weather forces light painters to take cover and tonight's choice was the reliable Lime Kiln in Derbyshire, our go to location.

Aways nice to try out a new technique and learn from the relative success. This is one I need to try and perfect more, especially in relation to the flash speed and intensity.

Hugo B very kindly shared a fresh batch of 3d animations on Facebook earlier so I was keen to give them a spin.
After settling on my favourite one I span the camera a few times working out the speed at which I should rotate the camera. Once I had dialled that part it dawned on me it was missing something. I took Riley's new set of pens and chose the closest 2 colours to those on the animation. I took one colour to each side of the lightpainting brushes 9" blade and got cracking.
I rotated the camera during 4 revolutions of the animation then replaced the lens cap. I moved the camera back about 3 feet and swapped the blade for the phone then changed focus. One full revolution of the blade for each 7 turns of the CRT until I arrived back at square 1.
Straight out the camera long exposure light art.

A few shots ago I posted a pic where I got the unexpected result of the overlapping lines making a 3D shape so I've been experimenting with some of my different homemade lightblades to see if I can improve on the effect.
This one was made with six rotations of my camera on a camera rotation tool of six spins of a light blade on my spinner with the torch set to med power so it fast strobes.

I was drawing a blank tonight so I took myself off to a darkened room and made this. Its a combo of a couple of shots from this 366 inspired by the sublime work of R Digi Mart Barras.
