You can put your relationship in a love lock of sorts.

Hundreds of signed or initialed locks are fastened to a 'designated' steel rack in Heritage park, overlooking the Fraser Valley and the Fraser River in Mission, British Columbia, Canada

I've been reading that many municipalities have banned this practice, that originated in Paris France some years ago.

The immediate threat seems to be the weight on safety barriers, such as fences and bridges, plus, there are the associated costs in labour with replacing the fencing and rails due to damage and vandalism.

Cities and municipalities have been taken to task with laborious removal efforts, using lock cutters in effort to clean up this quirky little practice.

This designated steel rack system seems to be the way to go for those who wish to partake in this love locking ritual.

Thanks for viewing. All your views, comments and faves are most appreciated.

"Every doorway, every intersection has a story."

In my husband's junk drawer were old computer keys. Remember computer keys?

I don't. But my husband began life in a mainframe computer and then other computers and managed to keep much of his career stuff or #junk. How could he part with such a treasure? (But he no longer has that IBM computer.)

I had such fun after I purchased two small LED lights that plug in to stand on a table, or in this case, next to a light box. This means that I don't have to use the large studio lights on stands and trigger them with off-camera doohickeys!

Heart shaped keylocks, near the Queen Emma bridge (also known as the Pontjesbrug) in Punda, Curaçao.

Originally lovers would put these (mostly) heart-shaped keylocks on a heart-shaped artwork, which unfortunately collapsed in 2025. Apparently Queen was right when they sang 'Too much love will kill you'

The term minimalism is used to describe a trend in design and architecture wherein the subject is reduced to its necessary elements. Minimalistic design has been highly influenced by Japanese traditional design and architecture.

The work of De Stijl artists is a major source of reference for such work: De Stijl expanded the ideas that could be expressed by very particularly organizing such basic elements as lines and planes.

Architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe adopted the motto "Less is more" to describe his aesthetic tactic of arranging the numerous necessary components of a building to create an impression of extreme simplicity by enlisting every element and detail to serve multiple visual and functional purposes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This old, robust, green padlock lies unused in my cupboard since nearly thirty years. The key is lost and its only function ist to be there ...

Photo taken in the studio with black background and only one flash with green gels.

Lockeh! I couldn't think of a better title as this lock appears to keep nothing secure, its only purpose being to look pretty.

But two lock shot uploads in a row? It's an obsession.

Sunday morning I walked 3km roundtrip from Gatewheel Rd. trailhead up to Rat Lake and back.

It seems Rat Lake is a popular spot on a Sunday morning. The section I walked did not permit putting my drone up due to the

thick, forest canopy covering the area travelled.

On a misty, Sunday morning my grandson (22yrs) and I took a bike ride up to Rat Lake from Mill Bay Road at Bemberton, BC (on Vancouver Island).

It was a blast! After an exhilarating bike ride, we put the drone up and got some misty video of the lake from 100ft.

The trail is maintained by the CVRD while the land is owned by a logging company. It is suggested that you stay on the trail as the area surrounding the hike is being actively logged. The trail is an easy 45 minute hike at a leisurely pace and the views of the lake are quite picturesque especially in the summer when the frogs are singing on the lily-pads.

What is the cracking code for photography 101?

Will it be the secrets in using your camera, your lenses your editing software and all your gadgets?

Will it be understanding about characteristics in light, shapes and textures in your composition?

Will it be the ability to find the greatest subject in the world for your photogaphy? May it be great model for portrait, great location for landscape or great collectible items for still life?

Will it be the capabilty to appreciate and uncover the beauty of all things around us? May it be your family, your home or even a mundane object?

I look at the key lock on my photo backpack and suddenly got the question of unlocking code of photography 101.

Have a great evening!
