When we played at Bierstube in Moline Ill. 2008

This is a photo of John Predny with another friend/guitarist on stage in San Francisco @ The Grant and Green Saloon. John www.facebook.com/home.php?filter=app_2392950137#/profile.... OR www.myspace.com/jmpredny is a very talented musician. Another Photo of him alone can be found below, or with this link: www.flickr.com/photos/a02toyota/4226991458 . He writes, produces, sings, plays drums, Trombone, keyboards, as well as guitar (as shown in this photo). Learned that my friend and his girlfriend were moving from the bay area down to Southern California (Los Angeles) at the end of this month, so decided to get some shots of him with a bit more emotion and feel to em.

Was looking hard for light modifiers besides grid/snoots, wanted a bit more soft of a light. The stage lights were Red and with some test shots a bit to monochrome as well as low on the meter. I gotta get my light bag more in order cuz again my diffuser box and well as a possible gel (to work with the color) would have been my fav choices. Well you shoot with what ya got in the bag! Not much processing to this photo besides cloning out some distracting elements and cropping. Still on the laptop, so until desktop revival that is the best that can be done.

Tell me what you think?

This was done "in camera" by setting a long exposure time and zooming out (from 150mm) about half-way through the exposure. The process of translating the energy of music from something heard to something visual is really fascinating. I really like how this one turned out.

Belfast Culture Night is easily the biggest evening in the city’s cultural calendar transforming places and spaces around the Cathedral Quarter area. There must have been around 60,000 revellers on the streets on a pleasant summer-like night to enjoy a family friendly Friday evening watching over 200 events from tours, talks, demonstrations, dance activities, circus performers, breakdancers, street theatre, roller derby, music gigs, orchestral recitals, grafitti art, gallery displays and film screenings in 100-plus venues that ranged from churches, pubs, gardens, street corners and stages set up in major streets and public areas. It was great to walk along friendly streets amid laughter and mayhem and enjoy most of the creative talent on display. A few of the supposed highlights were hugely disappointing and the Big Fat Gay Wedding was an unnecessary piece of crass politicing. We have enough contentious issues every day in life in Northern Ireland without having it stuffed in your face during Culture Night too. Everything around Writer’s Square and the Cathedral Gardens was exceptionally good however with the SmartMovers Dance Stage a hive of brilliance.

The Bottom Line

-----

Thirty Years from now on that marquee sign,

You'll see our name lit up misspelled, and live tonight.

But we don't care, cause we play music that we like,

Almost for free, for nothing but that bottom line.

So Here I go, packing light to head down that road,

And I know, this life I'll lead will beat on my soul.

But I'll still have my pride...

Nothing But That Bottom Line.

-----

I shot this one in Branson at the Landing shopping area, this guy was out just playing piano for tips. He was great, I loved the stuff he was playing. I got to just slow down and listen to him for a while when I shot some pictures of him. I am really trying to focus on shooting more people, I need to build my portfolio up better with more photographs of people, and I figured this one was a fine shot to upload. Thanks to everyone for checkin the shot out, and... do the things YOU like, because at the end of the day, sometimes, you just have to do things for yourself.

On Thursday March 9, 2017, my Wife & I went to the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida, where we attended the Oakridge Boys Show at the Festival Bandshell. This particular Photo shows one of the two Screens on either side of the stage, as the support band was setting up.

These photographs show the Bandshell (aka: Theater area) at the Florida Strawberry Festival. Apparently, Belle City Amusements is the prime Carnival Contractor and they supply most of the Rides, Games and Food Joints on the Midway.

The Strawberry Festival had a vast number of Rides and Food Joints and I'm sure Bell City Subcontracted other Carnival Vendors to fill the venue; either that, or the Strawberry Festival Board itself hired other Carnival Vendors to supply Rides & Food Vendors.

DISCLAIMER: I struggled with most of these photos trying to optimize them, but the combination of the Stage Lighting and the uneven Outdoor Light was difficult to deal with. The Stage itself, was overpowered by the lighting from the Hazy Sunlight and the Display Screen were caught uneven lighting due to angle of the Sun. Using Photoshop™, I spent several hours making various adjustments to overall Brightness & Contrast, Lightening the Shadows, Darkening the Highlights & Adjusting the Mid-range Contrast. Regarding the Color Saturation, I first made a Gross Adjustment to the overall Saturation and then proceeded to make minor adjustments to the individual color components aka: Primary Colors {Reds, Greens, Blues} and the Secondary Colors {Yellow, Cyan & Magenta}, and even fiddled with the Hue Control. I tried Optimizing both Photos of the Stage and Photos of the Display Screens. I felt that the Photos from the Display Screen were slightly better than the Photos from the Stage, except for Resolution & Sharpness. The Photos from the Display screens are of sightly lower Resolution & Sharpness and this is mostly due to the pattern the screen exhibit's due to the material it is made from. This becomes most apparent as the Photo is Magnified. You can see this by clicking the magnification arrows next to the flickr™ Image.

Taken at SWG3 in Glasgow on Thursday 13th December 2018 while they were supporting Uriah Heep on UK tour.

I road-trip'd to Kansas City to see Langen rockin' out in her first out-of-town show, opening for The B'Dinas and Appropriate Grammar. It was fun times. Leah and Carrie Ann also came along to support her, and I got to see Maleah, though briefly.

I have this vision in my head that The B'Dinas' keyboardist will see this and be all "Oh my god! The weird guy who kept taking pictures of us at our show at The Brick on Saturday has a crush on me? I MUST HAVE HIM" and then she'll move to St. Louis and we'll get married and have ten thousand babies together and live happily ever after THE END.

"Susanna And The Magical Orchestra is in fact a duo with keyboardplayer Morten Qvenild and singer Susanna Karolina Wallumrød. (Morten is a former member of Jaga Jazzist and Shining, he quitted to concentrate on this duo and his own trio called In The Country. Their debut-album was released in Norway in February 2004, and some time later in Europe and in Japan, and received very good critics around the world. List of lights and buoys contains highly personal interpretations of Dolly Parton´s Jolene and Leonard Bernstein´s Who Am I as well as nine originals that show a suprising degree of maturity, especially considering the writers young age and the fact that they operate in a landscape that requires a good deal of songwriting skills to hold your attention. Susanna And The Magical Orchestra combines the availability of the traditional popmusic, the strictness of the electronica and the improvisation in the jazzmusic."

So excited to go and see Regina Spektor at the Royal Festival Hall this evening - and she didn't disappoint :) We met up with our friends Richard and Cris beforehand, and had dinner at Wagamama, then a drink in the bar at the Festival Hall. We had to wait ages for her to come on stage, but it was totally worth the wait. She is just so bloody brilliant!

(I'm quite a fan, can you tell?)
