Are you new to the community? It's not as confusing as it seems at first. :-). Here's the deal.

Sometimes it can be hard to get your pictures seen and find inspiring photographers to follow. That's why I created the forum 3 years ago. It's a place to come together for inspiration and encouragement.

Every morning, NYC time, we make a post announcing our new theme and tag. Your job is to tag images that fit the theme. You can use shots you have already posted but we really love to see the theme inspire you to find new shots. The @jj_editors, @kevinkuster and I scour the tag and repost our favorite submissions through out the day. Over half a million people might see your pic! Pretty cool stuff.

We are ALL about keeping things simple, but in the spirit of our motto, "Create to connect", we ask that you follow our only "rule". We call it the 1-2-3 rule. For every 1 image you tag, comment on 2 in the tag and like 3 others.

My best friends Husband always says when his Wife gets home that he didn't take any video or photos of what they did while she was gone so she would freak. I love it. In my humble opinion IG has done a great job keeping the entire community "safe for all eyes." I know and realize some have different opinions of what art is and isn't and this debate can get intense. This is a timeless debate and will never be answered by the masses. Each individual must answer that question for oneself.

WHY I LOVE LIVING WITHOUT MY "STUFF".

.

I have always had a love/hate relationship with my "stuff". Like almost everything else in my life, I think it comes back to The Itch. We talked about The Itch a couple week's ago. Insufficient dopamine. ADD. That unsettled and restless feeling that makes me look for something, anything, to occupy and distract uncomfortable mind.

.

Some times my stuff helped. It kept me out of my head. I have heard that people with Tennitus, a ringing in the ears, often prefer music or white noise to silence. It makes perfect sense to me. I've know my stuff drowns out that consistent uncomfortable hum in my brain. Stuff helped me feel better.

.

Some times. . .

.

Unfortunately, the "fix" is short term. Isn't every "fix". Eventually the new camera becomes the not so new camera. I've been through all the menus. I've tried all the fancy new features and shopped for the accessories. There isn't anything left to explore and that brain hum floods in again. So. . . I need to find something else.

Have you heard about our @FIATUSA Open Road trip this summer? Just like last years trip someone will win a NEW FIAT 500L!

To get you guys pumped up about possibly winning your own vehicle, I reached out to last years car winner @littlecoal and asked him a few questions.

KK. Who is cooler? James Bond in a tricked out 007 car complete with pop up machine guns and secret rocket launchers or @littlecoal in his new FIAT 500L?

LC. I can't even begin to answer that with a straight face!

KK. Have you attempted any death defying jumps over a pool of sharks in your 500L?

LC. No pools of sharks, but I saw the sidewalk chalk left on the driveway using the backup camera and safely navigated around it. Same thing right?

This morning I was writing up something special for a special Fathers Day theme and received a request from @polkadotsandeastereggs. Since her request was so good, I decided not to alter it and post it as is. I know you will enjoy it. Happy Father's Day to all out #jj dad's!

Dear Josh,

I wanted to wish you a Happy Father's Day. Your devotion to your daughter is truly amazing. If there is ever a time in your daughter's life that she needs reassurance of your love, she need not look further than the jj page.

The record of your love for her starts at the very beginning of your first posts on Instagram - from your first big feature that gave you 550 followers. And when she reads from the beginning at post 1 and sees the things her father has done for others, she will think "Wow, my dad is an amazing person. He was reaching out to others and bringing people together from the very beginning of Instagram." See, the other day, when my husband Joe was chosen as a jj_editor, he went to the very beginning of your feed to have a better sense of the community here and what jj was all about. When I learned of all the things you had done for others from "flash mob" following new photographers, to helping find missing persons, to chats with people online, raising money for people, and so on and so on, I thought "Josh needs to go back to the very beginning of his feed and read every post and comment just as we have done. I think when you're trudging along ahead, you forget to look back and see how far you've come. God has used him to touch thousands of lives. If only he knew how much, maybe that would help him in his current struggles." Well I think it's time that you receive the kindness you have given to others. I'm going to do my best to get as many people as possible to tag inspiring photos to this hashtag #inourprayersjj with a comment about how you have touched their lives and how they are praying for you.

That way when you hit a bump in the road, you can go to a post and be reminded that God has a plan for you.
