Hey this is @shreekc for today theme of 'Beautiful Chaos' with the tag #jj_forum_0948.

The fantastic shot was submitted by @sue_lacey with the title 'Learn to dance in the rain or run in the flood water'. What a beautiful depiction of happy dogs running freely.

You know what they say "A tired dog is a happy dog". I bet cleaning all these four legged friends was not easy but oh what fun they had.

#JJ_EXPLAINED-.

Are you new to the community? It's not as confusing as it seems at first. :-). Here's the deal.

Sometimes it can be hard to get your pictures seen and find inspiring photographers to follow. That's why I created the forum almost 4 years ago. It's a place to come together for inspiration and encouragement.

Every morning, NYC time, we make a post announcing our new theme and tag. Your job is to tag images that fit the theme. You can use shots you have already posted but we really love to see the theme inspire you to find new shots. The @jj_editors, @kevinkuster and I scour the tag and repost our favorite submissions through out the day. Over half a million people might see your pic! Pretty cool stuff.

We are ALL about keeping things simple, but in the spirit of our motto, "Create to connect", we ask that you follow our only "rule". We call it the 1-2-3 rule. For every 1 image you tag, comment on 2 in the tag and like 3 others.

Glad you're here. Can't wait to see your shots. Speak up if you have questions or comments. We like to think this is the friendliest place on the internet. :-).

Kevin is going to do a special forum today in honor of Robin Williams. Watching the news here at work and I've been trying to find something to say.

Many of you know I have been pretty public about my own struggles with depression. So, I think my heart and mind goes to the hundreds, probably thousands of you reading this, who sadly, understand why he did what he did. You've been there. Tired of the hurt. Tired of feeling alone.

.

I've been there too. If I wasn't sure I'd have ruined my daughters life for ever I'd have made the same tragic choice on more than one occasion.

.

If you've been in that dark place, please know you are not alone and it's not your fault.

.

You are NOT alone and it's NOT your fault.

.

Here's how it is for me. It just happens. Often with stress. Some times for no reason at all. I just feel "off". A little at first then it can get worse. As a creative person I think I have a tendency to be introverted. When I'm down, I put it on me. Add in social stigma and you've got a very dangerous spiral.

.

But here's the facts I've learned. Depression is a biological condition. You wouldn't keep a fight with cancer or heart disease between you, your thoughts and your bed would you? Of course not. You would bring in a team of healthcare professionals in your life to help.

.

If you're hurting with depression you deserve, you need, the same care and attention. No, there is no easy fix. Support groups won't fix you. Life doesn't go rainbows and daisies on Prozac. But life can be good. It can be deep and meaningful. But you have to reach out and connect. You HAVE TO get help.

.

THE NEW SHOT NOD.

.

Morning all. I think by now you know I want our community to be focused on, well, just that. . . community. We're about connecting. If you're making friends and having fun, I think the team and I have done our job. Rule of thirds, shmool of tirds. ;-) That said. . . knowing your stuff IS kind of a nice feeling though. Confidence does help you connect. When you have made something your proud of it's easier to share it. And we gain confidence by getting good at something. By practicing.

So in the spirit of pushing ourselfs to get better at the art of taking pictures, here's a new regular feature I'm introducing in the Daily Forum. The "New Shot Nod". Think of it as a special reward, set aside for those who push themselves to get out and shoot.

.

The "New Shot Nod" is our way of reminding you that the daily theme is for more than sharing work you've already shot. It can also be a nudge. An assignment pushing you a little to try something new. Maybe it can open your eyes to something you wouldn't have otherwise looked for. Or maybe the theme finally gets you to grab a shot you've been eying for a while.

I know how it is. ;-) If you've got a good excuse it will be easier to convince the family to let you pull over. Maybe you'll finally get the lone tree shot you've been drooling over all year. :-) Go ahead. Blame it on Josh. I'll take one for the team.

I'm excited. My goal is to set aside at least one special feature a day for someone who has taken the time to use the theme as a creative assignment. We'll see how it goes.

.

Our First New Shot Nod will be in 5 minutes. It's a yummy one by @runnerkimhall. Then I'll post yesterday's "Stacked" forum top five and a new theme by 930 NYC time. Stay tuned. ;-).

michaelmodephotography: Yessss! A great way to motivate the community into bringing in the fresh. @joshjohnson another thought. When I read the word "community" I now think of the word "city" or "town". How would we spell the town donning our community name? JJ? JayJay? Ja-Ja? And which state would we erect such a town? New York? Texas(hint, hint) or California? Just a thought.

charlesleekk: This is really encouraging as well! In fact, I did just that for your Polaroid Fotobar challenge, I would post 3 new shots everyday with your theme - except for "Part 2", I've skipped some of the themes.

charlesleekk: If we're allowed to make any suggestions, I would like to suggest a "JJ_newcomer" feature too - maybe a fortnight "New Comer" or monthly - I know it'll be hard to keep track of who's new and who have been featured before, but this would really help newbies like myself - for newcomers with little or not much followers ( <500 perhaps)
