IBMT Chair Jim Jump concluded proceedings with a tribute to Geoffrey Servante, almost certainly the last British International Brigade volunteer,
who died in April, just four weeks before his 100th birthday.
He then reminded us that the annual commemoration is the highpoint of the IBMT calendar and pays tribute to the 2,500 International Brigade volunteers from Britain and Ireland who fought in the Spanish Civil War of 1936-39. More than 500 of them were killed in the conflict, which saw General Franco triumph with the help of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. Britain helped the future dictator by enforcing an arms embargo on the
Popular Front government of the Spanish Republic.

Here's a picture of me and my beautiful wife, Misti. We've been married for 7 years now. I can't imagine life without her. She is truly a gift from god. I married way out of my league.
Jim Denevan is from outer space, I’m sure of it. The huge complex designs he carves into sandy beaches are out of this world. It may seem that he creates these works simply with a branch and patience, but Creative Tempest knows that Jim Denevan hovers above our beaches in a tiny UFO firing lasers down to send messages back to his home planet. If Jim Denevan is any indication of the artistic nature of his alien species, Creative Tempest welcomes the impending invasion. Find out more at www.creativetempest.com

VeloSteve graciously let me play around with his camera and is 70-200mm Canon IS lens for a spell last night, and then uploaded the photos for me to grab. Here they are. Mmm... zoomlove.
