It hasn't rained in a while so I was able to catch this tadpole resting on the bottom of Chisholm Creek while the water was clear. I'm guessing this is a bullfrog tadpole given the size, but I don't know for sure. In any case, it is something new for my prairie wildlife species set.
Some info: Because the larval period in Bullfrogs can take three years, first, second, and third year tadpoles are present throughout year. Young of the year appear in June.
Distinguishing features: Bullfrog tadpoles are brownish green and often have a yellowish belly. Their body shape is rounded so they wobble when they swim. The tail is noticeably arched and is about 3/5 of the tadpole's total body length. The body and tail have many small bordered black spots.

On my first night in Iceland I stayed in a guesthouse in Kaflavik, a town near the international airport of Reykjavik. I strolled along the shoreline where I found this rusty scene.
I processed a balanced and a paintery HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

I love having a bald head....The women think its sexy and Its as clean-cut as your gonna get! Ppl think its easy to maintain, but the truth is I have to shave it daily with clippers then use a razor in the shower......My head has been shaved for 15 years. When I first shaved it I was a strange bird....It was Me, Kojak & Michael Jordan.
Now Every dude I see is going what I like to call "Nubian" :))
I grew my hair back a few times & just didt like it, so It just stuck.
They call me The Black Mister Clean and Im KOOL with that :))____
It's always good to be on location at least an hour before sunset. The Black Mount was completely visible, but 50 minutes before sunset the clouds moved in again, giving me (I think) my favourite shot of the week.
I think it is interesting how power gets put together on a big old railroad. Somehow, a pair of leasor units have been paired together for the Cedar River Local for the past 2 weeks out of Waterloo. It's pretty neat to see a couple of old ex-Soo Line SD60's paired back together again. Here, the girls sit at the roundhouse at Waterloo over the weekend. The Cedar River doesn't work over the weekend much, so the power will sit for a day or so unless needed on M338 for a kicker unit.
These Soo SD60's were in the 1st 21 units order (6000-6020), which were delivered between between August and October 1987. This bunch was returned leased, and some spent time on the INRD. Now, power short CN has them.

It was a cold wet winter morning ... mist everywhere ... I was debating on whether I should go to for a walk ... I am glad I decided yes!

Here is the most recognisable flower. Standing alone and singing beautiful songs. Nothing yet could disturb its singing. It amazed me. One song to the next. No one even hates the sound!
Winter Storm Elliott blasted though the north just in time for the holidays, with frigid temps, snow and ice! It even dipped down into the south where we live, with temps dipping well below freezing, for several days.
Of course, the Goodie Bowls (for the squirrels) were filled a couple times a day, and the birdfeeders were filled each morning, too. Fresh suet was also put out each morning so it wouldn't freeze overnight.
Our water fountains froze over, as you can see here, and the squirrels and birdies kept checking on them throughout the day.
It is now slowly but surely starting to warm up each day for the rest of the week, and we are expecting warmer than usual temps for New Years! Crazy weather.
My second Space Truck. This time it's actually long enough to be a SHIP, but just a little late for Shiptember...

It can be worrying to see someone struggling as they get older. One of the best things you can do is talk it over together with the person you're worried about, discussing your concerns and listening to each other.
Having those conversations isn't always easy. Family and friends can be deeply unsettled by signs that suggest a loved one isn't coping. Sometimes people find it difficult to have open conversations because they don't want to cause offence, or have strong emotions of their own, not wanting to acknowledge that a loved one is getting older.
It is a great honor once again to have a picture of me on this list, chosen with other wonderful and talented girls. Thank you so much :) xoxoxo
I thought it might be a good idea to do an OOC photo...

Last week I was in San Diego to help train some of the folks at Best Buy. One of the more extensive retail training programs I have ever seen, Best Buy takes key people out of their store for a week... flies them to someplace like San Diego. There they spend time with professional photographers and manufacturer's reps learning the gear and techniques needed to talk with you.
One of the stops was "Action".
Lichen on She Oak Trees, I'm not sure about this photos, sometimes I look at it and like and other times I don't. I wonder what you guys think?

The little bug is coming home with me today! He's been sleeping in my room at the breeder's house for the past 3 nights, and while there have been some growing pains (yaaawn), last night was fantastic; Lux was quiet for a full 5 hours, and I don't want to kill anyone today!
Last part was a joke. This is the internet, important to clarify.

It's a first. While working on the video clip I saw some shots I didn't get to post,so I felt this would be great way to get them in,hence the title.Plug in your earphones for this one.The video clip was made through Samsung Studio,an editing and video feature on my phone.Give it a try,it was fun.
I spent Friday evening puddle hunting in Seattle. The storm was still heavy when we arrived but I didn't mind the free shower. It felt nice to see rain again, it's been too long.
This was a night of unfortunate events. I locked my keys in my trunk. That moment when you stare at your keys while the trunk is closing..... only a $75 fee to unlock it....after his first offer of $169 + $20 service fee. I asked if that price included oral favors! To top it off we were recording an R&B show in which I forgot to press record during the first half of the show....doh!
In the end, I got my puddle shots. That made me happy.
It's Patriots' Day here in Massachusetts, which means two things around the Boston area: the running of the Boston Marathon and local commemorations and celebrations of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, where the first shots of the American Revolutionary War were fired on April 19, 1775 (referred to as the "shot heard 'round the world" in Emerson's famous "Concord Hymn").
One big part of these commemorations is to stage reenactments of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, and I attended several of these over the past few days and snapped a bunch of photos. This series contains some of the better photos from these events. It all put a real face on events that I had only read about in history books. I finally realized what an amazing thing it must have been that these groups of rag-tag farmers who had formed militias were able to rout some of King George's elite troops.
These photos represent a bit of a change of pace from my usual landscape, waterscape, and cityscape shots, but I had a lot of fun taking these photos and figuring out how to photograph what is essentially a "made up" event where the "old" things are mixed in with the modern.

Life is like farming. You sew the seeds. You water and fertilize. You harvest long after everything is done properly with help of weather. Likewise career, family and relationship. You get the result after long time with patience,
How do you know it is time to harvest?
We have practiced photography for ten years, twenty years or even thirty years. How do we know it is time to harvest i,e, we can get good pictures now?
I passed by the farm on Steveston Highway and saw the harvest behind the fence.
Have a great Thanksgiving long weekend friends!

Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: You're talking to me?
Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: Is what safe?
Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: I don't know what you mean. I can't tell you something's safe or not, unless I know specifically what you're talking about.
Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: Tell me what the "it" refers to.
Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: Yes, it's safe, it's very safe, it's so safe you wouldn't believe it.
Szell: Is it safe?
Babe: No. It's not safe, it's... very dangerous, be careful.
