‘It's not the spotlight

It's not the candlelight

Its not the streetlight

Its some old street of dreams

It ain't the moonlight

Not even the sunlight

But I've seen it shining in your eyes’

The old Pier at Brough in Caithness, Scotland. This was a super little location. Very secluded and with lots of interesting features to photograph. I was the only person here for the entire hour I spent down on the shore. I loved the green algae/moss that disappeared gradually into the blue water, creating a fantastic leading line and vanishing point. I don't often photograph man made features but when they look like this, it's hard to go past them.

Leeu 1A5 of the 82 Mechanized Brigade on exercise north of Kariba

The Leeu 1 was conceived in 1976 as a counter to the increasingly capable tanks being produced by Die Wêreldryk during the first half of the decade. It would go on to serve with distinction during the jungle war of 1980, its 110mm gun proving capable of punching through even the toughest imperial armor. It would serve again in the Great Demon War, proving itself yet again.

By 1992 the Leeu 1 has been superseded by its descendant, the Leeu 2. However, this tank still makes up the bulk of South Yafrani armored units, the Leeu 2's cost inhibiting its intended widespread adoption.

Yes, I did steal those new mudguards, how could you tell?

It is images of the sand dunes and the interplay of light and shadow that inspired my trip to Namibia. All of my expectations were met and then exceeded.

Well, it's finally here, a shiny New Year, out with the old in with the New...:O)))

As I said yesterday, 2008 was rubbish...so I'm praying for a better 2009...:O)))

It ended pretty much the same as it started....I had a massive headache for most of the day yesterday, it seemed as though my head was going to explode!!!!, I popped soooooo many pain killers, I'm surprised I'm still here..lol, suffice to say, not one drop of drink passed my lips...so at least I am waking up in 2009 hangover free...and the headache...touch wood...seems to have gone for now...::O)))

Anyhoo...I wish all those with sore heads, or not a Wonderful Shiny New Year...2009...:O)))

It sometimes pays off to take a different way home. Every Sunday morning I help my husband set up for his course. This mourning I decided to take a back road home as the sun began to rise I am happy I did

It looks like she's just standing there, ignoring me, but in reality my daughter Mara (aka Mar) is standing in a gym, battling for prestige points for her Pokemon GO team, Yellow.

She's also ignoring me. :P

It was a sunset that my wife and I went for a walk on the shore of the Drzewiczka River. We have maybe 400 m to the lagoon from the house. Walking slowly on the shore, literally in 15 - 20 minutes I took several dozen photos, from which I will be selecting photos to be displayed on Flickr for a long time. Every few dozen meters the light changed in a magical and unique way, creating unique images.

In Greek mythology, Cassandra was the daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba of Troy. Her beauty caused Apollo to grant her the gift of prophecy. However, when she did not return his love, Apollo placed a curse on her so that no one would ever believe her predictions.

it is always nice when someone likes your work and they ask you to take their pic ~ thank you

“In this quiet corner, the best wild flowers grow, and the first peepers are heard in the spring, even before the snow melts. Here, owls call from the treetops in the early morning, and the irreverent crows hold their noisy conventions. Here, the mother deer has her fawn, and the migrating geese come to rest. It is here that the fox is safe from the hunters.”

Jal Mahal (meaning "Water Palace") is a palace located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, India. The palace and the lake around it were renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber

In the past, at the location of the lake, there was a natural depression where water used to accumulate. During 1596 AD, when there was a severe famine in this region there was consequent acute shortage of water. The then ruler of Ajmer was, therefore, motivated to build a dam to store water to overcome the severe hardships caused by the famine to the people inhabiting the region. A dam was constructed, initially using earth and quartzite, across the eastern valley between Amer hills and Amagarh hills. The dam was later converted into a stone masonry structure in the 17th century. The dam, as existing now (see picture), is about 300 metres (980 ft) long and 28.5–34.5 metres (94–113 ft) in width. It is provided with three sluice gates for release of water for irrigation of agricultural land in the down stream area. Since then, the dam, the lake and the palace in its midst have undergone several rounds of restoration under various rulers of Rajasthan but the final restoration in the 18th century is credited to Jai Singh II of Amer. During this period, a number of other historical and religious places, such as the Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Khilangarh Fort, Kanak Vrindavan Valley were also built in the vicinity of the lake. All these places are now linked under a tourist corridor of road net work.

I made it out today for the first time for a little while which was great. Unfortunately what wasn’t great was I left it a little late in the day to start shooting. I was literally in a race against Mother Nature as the light faded. I had originally planned another shot in my head only to find out when I got there that the sun was in the wrong place for the shot I wanted. Luckily I came across this shot and the light was just perfect. In saying that In Scotland during autumn honestly the light can change very fast and by the time I had taken my third attempt trying to catch the leave and the light just right the sun had nearly disappeared. Unfortunately with the disabilities I have it can often affect my energy levels so I feel I miss the best light to shoot at, but I have to be grateful for the luxury of being able to get out once in a while I guess.

It was so nice to walk along a very empty Aberdeen Beach. It was certainly nice enough to be here so I am not sure why it was so quiet.

It's better to fight the courage to fight than the strength to run

Photographed at a night market in day time.

Bowfell (named Bow Fell on Ordnance Survey maps) is a pyramid-shaped mountain lying at the heart of the English Lake District, in the Southern Fells area. It is the sixth highest mountain in the lakes and one of the most popular of the Lake District fells. It is listed in Alfred Wainwright's 'best half dozen' Lake District fells. Tim mcgraw

It's not much, not still nice.

It is about a hundred feet tall and located in a remote lunar looking landscape.

. . . Slough Branch, Grand Union Canal, Slough, England. I rode my bicycle past this spot several times on my way to Windsor when I lived and worked for a short time in Uxbridge. The canal here was always teeming with fishermen on one side and narrowboats on the other. It's a refuge below the street level of the city and its traffic.
