The Fight Lab 44 MMA match at Sports USA on 7 Feb 15 drew a large audience to watch 10 bouts. A mixture of weight classes were represented in the fights and the night ended with three pro fights.

The 82nd Airborne and 3 PARA boxed it out in a nine bout tournament during competition for the Tripoli Cup at the Ritz-Epps Sports Complex. There were over 3500 British and American troops in attendance at the match, April 22.

This year’s Air Force Ball was held at Pope Field, Sept. 20. The evening included many fun activities for the participants, making the ball a memorable event.

brigade headquarters deployed for about

nine months and 3rd Bn., 4th ADA deployed

for about 12 months.

Family members gathered in the passenger

terminal late on a chilly evening to await the

arrival of their Soldiers. When the Spartans

marched into the passenger terminal, they

uncased the colors in a ceremony and reunited

with their Families. The Soldiers returned

after serving overseas in support of Operation

Enduring Freedom, providing protection

for U.S. and partner assets and enabling the

success of operations throughout the region

"Iron Mike"...This 15-foot statue is dedicated to the airborne trooper who is always watching, waiting, and alert. "Iron Mike", the post's most prominent symbol since 1961; was the creation of the wife of a former deputy post chaplain. His stance is that of an airborne soldier who has completed a combat jump. PFC Michael A. Scambellure, an 82nd Airborne Division soldier, who received the Silver Star for his heroic actions in Sicily, originally inspired the statue.
