Lower inscription: Ao. 1679 [illegible words] Matthaus Merian[?]
[This could be either Matthäus Merian the Younger (1621-1687), a Swiss painter or his father, Matthäus Merian der Ältere (or "Matthew", "the Elder", 1593 - 1650), a Swiss-born engraver who worked in Frankfurt for most of his career, where he also ran a publishing house. It would probably help if we could read the whole inscription, because I think there is another name in the first line.]
