Mondays to Fridays belong to Beelzebub. Pure Evil rules the time from 07.30 to 09.30 and 16.30 to 18.30. Oh Lord! Why have you forsaken us? Where are the bloody flying cars that Tomorrowβs World promised us back in the 1970βs?
WOW!
I need a drink.... My work would make anyone want to drink heavily after standing up for seven hours straight in the store...... My legs hurt so bad.... I need to numb them.... Buy me a drink!
*drinks*
.....Now that's better!
Better LARGE!!
One of a few hummingbird shots that I got at my parents' home in Tanner, AL. The hummers were there in DROVES! Almost like bees buzzing around! MY shot pales, however, in comparison to the work my friend, John "K" does with hummers! I've got to practice! AND save up for a bigger lens!! :)
if anyone's viewing this now, it might be confusing to read the comments without knowing that, on the day this photo was added to the deleteme group pool, everyone in the deleteme group had the same avatar. so, all the icons below had the same exact face -the same face you see in this highly artistic and masterfully composed photo. It was beautiful chaos.
Just when I thought I was getting the hang of CS5 it punched me in the gut. Spent half the day trying to make a cinemagraph just to find out that CS5 no longer runs off a 32bit and the only way I can import my video is if I used my D90, which I spent the other half of the day figuring out.. Long story short I gave up as tried and frustrated as I was ,I was not going to rest until I had a photo for HCS... after trying a billion shot I just said flip it I am using this one and turned it to a poster and called it a day. ( Even though I never liked poster photos it's like a hat on a bad hair day)
Hope you guys have a HCS!!
... and whats on your mind?
I decided to shoot another friend of mine from work - the new breed of multi-tasking-multi-thinking women of today!
She's a crazy person who makes every day at work a lot of fun. Being our publicist she always has her ears on gossip (or is it the other way around?) So for her portrait I wanted to bring out some elements that reflect her personality and her working style.
Today in Spain is "Columbus Day".......a fiesta......when the locals celebrate the discovery of America......god only knows why?
The true story is however different.
My great,great,great,......grandfather Admiral Sunny Drunk was the first man to discover the "new world" not Columbus.
What happened is this........Columbus was working in a sardine factory in Portugal when the "good Admiral" sailed by.....he pleaded with the admiral to give him a lift and being of a kind disposition the Admiral agreed, picked Columbus up and sailed west.
It was this great Englishman who sighted America first....and on the spot named it "The United States of Admiral".(this however didn't sound too good and was later changed by a guy called George Washington).
The ship landed in Florida and in honour of Admiral Sunny Drunk it was called "The Sunshine State".
Columbus moved west to California by Greyhound Bus and later opened up the "Columbus Bakery" in the Sacramento area.
This is the true story of how America was founded.
The Plaque was erected to commemorate Admiral Sunny Drunk's amazing discovery.
It depicts the "good Admiral's ship" parking at Hiawatha's house
Nothing fancy today, just me, on my patio, where I have never taken a picture before for my 365. I actually don't go out here that often, which is kinda sad in a weird "sad, but not really" sort of way. What you see me drinking is my typical morning "jug" of iced coffee straight out of the blender bottle that I really should be using for protein drinks and taking with me to workout because I can feel myself expanding by the day...sigh. We'll be moving next month and Liina and I are going to get back in the "habit" of walking more and eating better once we get the move completed. I swear I think I'm bigger than I've ever been, and at 36 that's not a good thing....
Well, anyway, hope you guys all have a great day, I'm off to get ready for work.
Peace!

FGR - I need a drank!
Was going for a look. Missed it.
I do like the ringflash without the moon unit too, but the color is a little warm with the normal settings on (flash WB) for my taste.
I'm getting nothing done though for my personal projects. I've got the light of the ringflash pretty dialed after using it this week. Was going to head out, got tired and set up my lights instead :) Just used the ABR800 without a reflector (just a small diffuser) at 1/4th power, triggered by PW.
Just finished my moleskine. Completely full of ideas. Picking up my film and another one tomorrow.
Oh, and P.S. DON'T LIKE THE NEW FLICKR. Don't go all facebook on us please and make me leave this too.
Night guys, Wall-E, out.
For FGR and Let's Drink on Flickr Monday.
I really, really, REALLY cannot tell you how much I wanted/needed some form of alcohol tonight.
But if I had opened the bottle, the photo never would have gotten done and I'd be passed out on the kitchen floor in my jammies, wondering what the hell happened.
So I made tea.
*sigh* It was really really hot in this shot.
and doesn't look like it's ending any time soon.
Such a mess to move, plus, we have to move everything (big stuff) in two days.
And, right now we are in the middle of cleaning out 50 years worth of "stuff" from my grandma's house. UGH....
I need more wine. :)
Edited with Dani's innocent action.
and there's no tellin' which days those'll be.
for 365 days, flickr group roulette, and i need a drink.

Dear (about to be former) friend,
We were very close while you were married. And then, one day, it turns out, your husband had gambled away every penny you ever saw plus $200,000 more.
I held you while you cried. I took you out for drinks. I drove you home when you were too drunk to even know your own name.
I cheered you on when you figured out how to get out of debt. I screened your phone calls. I answered the door for you so you wouldn't have to see him.
I came when you needed me even when it was completely inconvenient for me.
I was the kind of friend I want everyone to be for me.
Two months ago you got a boyfriend. He's okay. I don't mind him. Seems like a nice guy. Hopefully he won't turn out to be a jackass (that could be asking a lot -- he IS male). I wish only the best for you. I want you to be happy and I'm very excited that you have found someone to share your daily ups and downs with.
But...
I haven't seen you in two months.
We were supposed to hang out tonight for an hour or so to get drinks. I called you at 3 and you and the boy were just sitting down to lunch. You'd call me back in a little bit. At 7 you called. You didn't realize that your lunch had gone so long. You were really sorry, but you and the boy had just left "lunch" and now you were tired and just going to go on home.
I'm sure that four hour long lunch just wore you right the hell out.
I'm done. I'm tired of being blown off.
I'm tired of saving time for you because you are important to me only to be repeatedly shown that I am not important to you now that you don't need me.
I'm done.
Sincerely,
The Friend you are going to be sorry you lost when this one turns out to be a wanker, too.
This awesome Mexican Omelet was stuffed with chorizo sausage, queso and cheddar cheese, green and jalapeno peppers, and onions.
No.
"OK. Is it Santa? Is it Santa?!"
No.
"OK. Is it Santa?! Is it Santa?!!"
No.
"OK. Ranger, I hear something. Is it Santa?!! Is it Santa?!!!"
Aaaarghhhh.
We remember our first camera, first car, and first wife. And we remember other things, too -like first prostate exam.
It's OK by the way. Ah, the indignities of getting old.
Pentax K10D, 21mm/3.2, Silkypix Developer Studio 3.0 Free edition.
Well, not very itsy. And not at all bitsy. Rather on the large side, in fact.
Ok, I'll be completely honest. It's HUGE!!
Like in "Aaaargh! There's a monster looking down at me!"
I estimate it's longest legs to a healthy 6cm each.
I was hanging between palms, 3 meters over the path to the beach bar from Whitesands Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya. Probably feeding on thirsty tourists.
I think I know how Sam Gamgee felt when he met Shelob.
Identified as a Nephila, Golden silk orb-weaver, by vwla and confirmed by peregrin@.
Subspecies still unknown.
- If it turns out I've discovered a new species, I'd like to name it Nephilia Thirstyvinsryggensis :-)
This swine flu is causing us loads of extra stress at work. Every other phone call is 'what, why, where, when blah blah f*ckin' blah, swine flu'..............One particular caller today (and by this time I was ready to slash my wrists or have my testicles chewed by ferretts)..........'I'm pregnant blah blah..........', Oh I so wanted to say..........'well of course if you have it you will give birth to frickin' piglets you daft *insert your own favourite word*
I'm so sorry. I should be so greatful for even having a job..............but it's been one of those days, and whoever coined the phrase the customer is always right should be ritually shafted up the arse with a yardbrush, sideways!!

Go Big or Go Home!!
That is what I am trying to do more of with my 365's. I am always extremely nervous about taking pictures in public but those are some of the pictures I appreciate the most on 365 so the Theme of the Week Group posed an excellent challenge for me. So in an effort to get out and shoot some 365 in public I went to the Barnes and Nobles bookstore. I got caught by one of the bookstore employees but I kept on going. Go Mo!
When I got home I played on a potentially new toy - A Wacom Bamboo tablet. A friend let me use it and I think I might be hooked!
Today's Random Fact: I own a multi-CD collection of Prince's music. After listening to it a few time, I realize that he is pretty weird and I only like his mainstream music
