Filántropo chileno entregó junto a alcaldesa Virginia Reginato, mil pelotas de la misma marca utilizada en la pasada Copa América.
Mil niños pertenecientes a las Escuelas de Fútbol Gratuitas que la Corporación Municipal para el Desarrollo Social y el municipio local, tienen implementadas en diversos sectores de la comuna, fueron beneficiados con la entrega de igual número de balones para seguir practicando su deporte favorito.
La citada indumentaria fue entregada por el filántropo chileno Leonardo Farkas y por la alcaldesa Virginia Reginato, durante una actividad realizada en el nuevo Estadio Sausalito y en la que además participaron los concejales Mafalfa Reginato y Rodrigo Kopaitic, el director de la Casa del Deporte, Javier Aravena,y el director de las citadas escuelas, Gabriel “Coca” Mendoza.
Grata fue la sorpresa de los menores favorecidos con este obsequio cuando vieron ingresar a la cancha del citado reducto deportivo al conocido empresario y a la jefa comunal viñamarina, los que tras saludarlos procedieron a hacer entrega a los niños de los mil balones, replica de los utilizados en la pasada Copa América.
En la oportunidad la alcaldesa Virginia Reginato, agradeció la gentileza de Leonardo de Farkas de haber llegado a Viña del Mar, para regalarles a los niños las citadas pelotas.
“Quiero agradecer a Leonardo, un gran amigo de Viña del Mar, por este regalo que les ha hecho a todos los niños que pertenecen a nuestras escuelas de fútbol. Al igual como en el 2011, el ha querido hacer feliz a estos menores entregándoles a cada uno de ellos un balón que les permitirán seguir practicando con sus amigos, lo que han aprendido con sus profesores en las escuelas que mantenemos en diferentes sectores de la parte alta de la comuna. Estoy muy contenta de ver a estos chicos disfrutar con su balón y por eso también yo le he hecho un regalo de una medalla del estadio para que se lo lleve de recuerdo”.
Por su parte, Leonardo Farkas, indicó que “siempre es bonito ayudar. La idea es hacer feliz a los niños. Mi compromiso no es otro que aportar a la actividad deportiva y en este caso al trabajo que llevan a cabo en Viña del Mar, por intermedio de la Casa del Deporte. Ya lo hice en Quinta Normal y ahora con estos niños. Es un premio para ellos y ojalá otros también lo hicieran y no sólo yo. Lo hago en forma transparente y que pasen un feliz Día del Niño”.
En la oportunidad también entregó 60 balones de básquetbol para las escuelas deportivas municipales de Miraflores y Nueva Aurora, y un par de aros destinados a la práctica de esta disciplina en el sector de Forestal.
16 ESCUELAS DE FÚTBOL
Las Escuelas de Fútbol Municipales, implementadas por la Corporación Municipal de Viña del Mar para el Desarrollo Social y el municipio local, a través de la Casa del Deporte, fueron creadas en 2005, como una forma de fomentar en los niños entre 7 y 14 años, la práctica de esta disciplina.
Para ello, existen 16 escuelas de fútbol, las que están distribuidas en 11 sectores de la parte alta de la comuna, como: Santa Julia (Complejo Municipal de Santa Julia); Reñaca Alto (Cancha Asociación de Fútbol Reñaca Alto); Glorias Navales ( Cancha Isla Dawson); Gómez Carreño ( Complejo Municipal Botafogo); Achupallas (Cancha Municipal Caupolicán); (Cancha Villa Independencia); (Cancha Las Américas); Miraflores ( Estado Municipal de Miraflores y Complejo El Maitén); Chorrillos (Estadio Municipal Lomas de Chorrillos); Forestal (Complejo Municipal Jonathan Araya Olivares y Estadio Municipal Las Torres); Recreo (Estadio Español);Viña Oriente- El Olivar (Cancha Club Deportivo Tamarugal); y Nueva Aurora( Complejo José Domingo Rojas y Cancha Villa Hermosa).
Los menores pertenecientes a las Escuelas de Fútbol Municipales de Viña del Mar, cuentan con un staff de profesores, compuesto la mayoría de ellos por ex futbolistas profesionales, encabezados por Gabriel “Coca” Mendoza, quienes se encargan de entregarles los fundamentos y las técnicas básicas de este hermoso deporte.

Plaque on the front of F.L. Sankot Case Implement, 807 13th Street, Belle Plaine, Iowa. The Sankot Motor Company, also known as the Sankot Garage, is a historic building located on the Lincoln Highway. The historical significance of this building is its association with the increase in all-season travel and the development of businesses like this one to serve them along the Lincoln Highway, the United States's first transcontinental route. It is a brick front building with side walls of clay tile that was constructed on a concrete foundation. The west half of the building was added in 1927. It was operated by O.B. Charles and Sid Sankot until 1937. They also sold Chryslers. Gasoline was sold from 1920 to 1944. F.L. Sankot bought the business in 1937. In addition to vehicle repair, he sold Case and Oliver tractors and implements. William and Jerry Sankot purchased the business in 1985, and limited it to passenger, commercial and agricultural vehicle repairs. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. It was included as a contributing property in the Belle Plaine Main Street Historic District in 2013.
El Ministerio de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural, el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible y el Banco Agrario de Colombia informaron una serie de acciones que, desde la entidad financiera, con el apoyo de ambas carteras, se vienen implementando para evitar el financiamiento de proyectos ubicados en zonas naturales protegidas o que puedan atentar contra la biodiversidad del país. Así mismo, anunciaron una nueva medida para garantizar que la tala de bosques nativos no se dé en ningún proyecto financiado por el Banco.
Si bien, desde el año 2015, en el Banco Agrario se había comunicado la prohibición de financiar proyectos en parques naturales y zonas protegidas, fue a partir de diciembre de 2020, con la emisión de la Circular CR 246, que se implementaron controles estrictos, incluyendo sanciones disciplinarias para los funcionarios que no los cumplan, evitando así la irrigación de créditos con destino en dichas zonas.
En este sentido, el Banco también habilitó una herramienta en la que los directores de las oficinas pueden consultar si los códigos catastrales de las solicitudes de crédito están ubicados en alguna zona protegida y, para el caso de predios sin título de propiedad, se dispuso que los directores deben consultar con la respectiva Corporación Autónoma Regional (CAR) o si el predio está ubicado en el listado oficial de veredas que hacen parte de alguna zona protegida.
El ministro de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural, Rodolfo Zea Navarro, destacó que el Banco Agrario cuente con normas claras para no otorgar créditos en zonas de protección natural y de reserva, y mucho menos en parques naturales, y enfatizó que “desde el Gobierno Nacional continuaremos trabajando por la reforestación del país y por la conservación de nuestros bosques, para ser cada día un país más sostenible en temas ambientales”.
Así mismo, el presidente del Banco Agrario, Francisco Mejía Sendoya, anunció que “con el objetivo de seguir trabajando en este compromiso para la conservación del medio ambiente, a partir de esta semana, el Banco tomó una importante decisión. Se trata de la prohibición de financiar, en cualquier lugar del territorio nacional, proyectos productivos que impliquen actividades de deforestación o talas ilegales de bosques, reglamentada a través de la circular interna CICA-019-21, que regirá a partir del próximo primero de marzo”.
Para esto, antes de otorgar los créditos, la fuerza comercial del Banco hará una verificación durante su visita a los predios donde se desarrollarán los proyectos, validando su ubicación y que en estos no se contemple la tala de bosques. Posteriormente, en los procesos de control de la inversión, se realizará una nueva visita para revisar que efectivamente se esté ejecutando lo planeado y en las zonas indicadas.
En todo caso, una vez les sea aprobado el crédito, todos los clientes deberán firmar un compromiso de no tala de bosques en el proyecto productivo objeto del crédito, y en caso de no cumplirse este compromiso, el Banco podrá reclamar el pago inmediato del saldo total de la deuda.
Además de lo anterior, a través de los procesos georreferenciación que adelanta el Banco, se apoyará la mitigación de los riesgos, garantizando la no financiación de actividades prohibidas en áreas de parques nacionales naturales y otras áreas protegidas.
El Ministro de Ambiente, Carlos Eduardo Correa, calificó como “un hito” que la entidad financiera esté colocando créditos en un sector tan importante, no solo para la competitividad del país sino para la sostenibilidad ambiental, y especialmente “con la finalidad de que sean sostenibles”.
Estas tres entidades de Gobierno también anunciaron que realizarán, del 22 al 29 de abril, una “sembratón” de árboles nativos simultáneamente en 844 municipios donde hace presencia el Banco, a través de 789 oficinas y 97 sucursales de BAC Más Cerca. Se espera que participen en esta iniciativa más de 5.000 empleados, que, de forma voluntaria, apoyarán la siembra de alrededor de 50.000 árboles nativos en las fincas de los clientes que también decidan vincularse.
Por su parte, Francisco Mejía manifestó que “el mejor legado que podemos dejar, como compromiso del Banco Agrario con el medio ambiente, es instituir esta sembratón todos los años, con todos nuestros clientes y empleados, para que no sea una iniciativa de coyuntura sino un compromiso permanente”.
Otra de las medidas será continuar con la promoción y puesta en marcha de líneas de financiamiento amigables con el medio ambiente, como la que fue anunciada por el MinAgricultura y el Banco Agrario el año pasado, denominada Línea de Crédito para Sistemas Silvopastoriles, que tiene el objetivo de fomentar la ganadería sostenible, a través de la siembra de árboles en potreros.
Tanto el Ministro de Agricultura, como el de Ambiente y el presidente del Banco Agrario de Colombia insistieron en seguir aportando estrategias para que el sector agropecuario continúe por la senda de ‘producir conservando y conservar produciendo’, apuesta que fue anunciada por el presidente Iván Duque desde que inició su Gobierno. / Feb. 25, 2021. En el marco de la reunión para el cumplimiento de los compromisos derivados de la 12° del GORE Ejecutivo, el viceministro de Mype e Industria, José Salardi, señaló que el gobierno, a través del Ministerio de la Producción (Produce), impulsará el desarrollo de las cadenas productivas de pesca, acuicultura, agroindustria y forestal en Loreto, a través de un trabajo articulado con las autoridades regionales.
En ese sentido, indicó que la reunión de los equipos técnicos de su sector y del gobierno regional, ha dado como resultado una serie de acuerdos que contribuirán para que Loreto se convierta en una región productiva en base a sus potencialidades. "Hemos identificado que estamos muy alineados en muchas intervenciones, incluso en aquellas que ya tenemos en camino", destacó.
Al respecto, Salardi precisó que al cierre del primer semestre estarán implementados al 100 % el CITE Forestal y el CITE Productivo Maynas. "Es una inversión de 22 millones de soles que ha realizado Produce a través del ITP. Con lo cual se ha puesto en valor estas infraestructuras importantes, para poder dar todo apoyo y soporte a las cadenas productivas de pesca, acuicultura y agroindustrias".
Manifestó que para el presente año proyectan prestar un mínimo de 1200 servicios de innovación y transferencia tecnológica, que ayudará a fortalecer las capacidades e innovar a las diferentes industrias de esta región.
Asimismo, informó que otros de los compromisos es la pronta apertura del Centro de Desarrollo Empresarial del programa “Tu Empresa”, para promover la formalización de 400 nuevas unidades de negocio.
De otro lado, Salardi indicó que el sector espera cerrar el año inaugurando el Gran Mercado de Belén. "Se está avanzando a un nivel importante. El proyecto está a más de 50% de ejecución y en el presupuesto de este año se han incluido 50 millones de soles para su culminación", apuntó.
Acciones en pesca y acuicultura
De otro lado, el viceministro Salardi informó que, a través del FONDEPES, Produce iniciará la construcción del primer desembarcadero pesquero artesanal de la Amazonia “La Punchana”, para lo cual se ha destinado una inversión de hasta S/ 22 000 000.
Asimismo, este fondo realizará un proyecto piloto para la implementación de aislamiento térmico en embarcaciones pesqueras artesanales para el adecuado transporte de los productos hidrobiológicos. "Con esta actividad, se espera incrementar los fondos para créditos destinados a los pescadores artesanales y acuicultores de la región hasta por un valor de S/ 250 000", destacó.
Otro de los acuerdos es la implementación de mejoras en los servicios del Centro Acuícola Nuevo Horizonte, por un valor de hasta S/ 14 000 000, con ello se mejorarán los servicios de producción y distribución de alevinos para la ampliación de la frontera acuícola, así como la capacitación operativa especializada a los productores de la Región.
Mercado de Putumayo
Más tarde, el viceministro Salardi hizo entrega oficial al alcalde provincial de Putumayo, Humberto Fuentes, del expediente técnico aprobado para la ejecución del proyecto "Mejoramiento del Mercado Municipal de la Ciudad de San Antonio del Estrecho".
Esta importante acción del gobierno en una ciudad de frontera con Colombia, cuenta con una inversión de más de 4 millones de soles y beneficiará a más de 3000 habitantes.
Las obras se realizarán en un terreno de 1410 m2, donde se implementarán 40 puestos de comercio, con una moderna infraestructura e innovaciones que garantizarán la alta calidad de los productos.

A new women resource center was opened in Bilasuvar as part of the of the joint project funded by the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and implemented by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, UNDP and Women’s Association for Rational Development.
Opening Bilasuvar Women Resource Centre is the first result under this project. The aims of this centre are to help women strengthen their presence in community life. It will serve as a public platform to plan and coordinate women’s economic and social initiatives, and provide different opportunities for capacity building, entrepreneurial activity, vocational education, and creative self-expression.
Welcoming officials and participants in Bilasuvar city, the head of Executive Authority, Mr. Mahir Guliyev stressed the importance of the women resource centre in supporting women in both Bilasuvar and surrounding villages.
To this date, the Women Resource Centres have mobilized 416 women members, facilitated training for over 350 women, helped starting or improving more than 50 women-led businesses, and reached over 450 children, women and men in awareness-raising campaign on violence and gender issues.
For the past decade, the Government of Azerbaijan has collaborated with all interested stakeholders to bring the concerns and issues of women to the forefront of different areas of economic and social policies. Ms. Hijran Huseynova, a Chairperson of the State Committee expressed her willingness to continue and strengthen this partnership, and open such support centres throughout the country.
The opening ceremony of Bilasuvar Women Resource Centres took place during the 16 Days of Activism Campaign against Gender-based Violence, which is held in the country between 25 November and 10 December together with many partners including the EU Delegation, UNDP, and State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs. This Campaign advocates for the action to end violence against women and girls everywhere. UNDP Resident Representative, Mr. Ghulam M. Isaczai expressed his hope during his speech that such centres in Bilasuvar and other regions would be the grassroots-level champions raising awareness about the negative impacts of gender-based violence beyond the time limits of international campaigns.
“Today’s event celebrates only one of the first results of our joint project, but this collaboration will also help Azerbaijan to contribute to a number of Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the SDG 5 on achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls, SDG 8 on ensuring inclusive economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all, and SDG 10 on reducing inequality within and among countries.” – Mr. Isaczai mentioned.
"The Centre will help to promote the important role of women as active members of the society and increase many possibilities of good support structures for female participation in various fields" – Ms. Malena Mard, EU Ambassador highlighted in her speech during the opening ceremony.
After the opening ceremony, thirteen local women were awarded with certificates to launch their businesses under the project. Ms. Mansura Shahveranova, who was one of awarded beneficiaries, described how she benefitted from the project during presentation of certificate ceremony. “Before the project, I had some ideas, but I couldn’t realize them. Thanks to this project, I will be able to launch my own business and at the same time I will also be able to provide job opportunities to three other people,” she said.

CONICYT y la Subsecretaría de Educación Parvularia darán a conocer detalles de esta iniciativa que ya se está implementando en diez regiones del país. Se incluye capacitación para educadores y un kit de materiales para la realización de 30 actividades en la sala de clases.
Aprender en qué consiste el fenómeno de la refracción de la luz puede ser bastante complejo, sobre todo para niños que aún están en la educación parvularia. Pero ¿qué pasa si se les enseña con una lupa y globos, proyectando en ellos la luz del sol para ver qué pasa? ¿Se revientan o no? ¿Hay diferencia entre apuntar la luz a uno blanco o de otros colores?
Esta es una de las experiencias diseñadas para que los niños y niñas pequeñas aprendan ciencia por medio de la experimentación, una estrategia implementada por CONICYT a través de su Programa Explora, en conjunto con la Subsecretaría de Educación Parvularia. La iniciativa, denominada Tus Competencias en Ciencias (TCC), contempla la realización de 30 actividades de aprendizaje, para ser realizadas por las educadoras de párvulos en la sala de clases, acompañadas por un kit de materiales.
Aunque TCC comenzó a ser ejecutado en educación básica y media en 2007, gracias a la articulación con la recientemente creada Subsecretaría de Párvulos, la iniciativa pudo ahora ser adaptada para su aplicación en educación parvularia, siendo alineada con el curriculum de estudios para su implementación, de manera progresiva, en salas de clases de todo el país.
Este año, en el marco de este relanzamiento, los 12 Proyectos Asociativos Regionales de Explora de CONICYT (PAR) ejecutaron talleres TCC, capacitando cada uno a 215 docentes de Educación Párvulos. Permitirá involucrar, aproximadamente, a 3.225 pequeños.
Christian Nicolai, director Ejecutivo de CONICYT, destaca que esta iniciativa llega en un “momento histórico, tanto para el Ministerio de Educación, por la puesta en marcha de la Nueva Educación Pública, como para CONICYT, que celebra su aniversario número 50”.
En efecto, TCC representa un apoyo para el proyecto de Reforma Educacional y mejora en la calidad de la educación que es impulsado por el gobierno de la Presidenta Michelle Bachelet, como lo demuestra la experiencia del Territorio de Anticipación de Barrancas (Pudahuel, Cerro Navia y Lo Prado), que será dada a conocer mañana.
Patricia Ponce, educadora de Párvulos del Colegio Madre Ana Eugenia, de Pudahuel, es uno de estos ejemplos. Realiza la actividad dos veces a la semana y está sorprendida con la actitud que han tenido, especialmente, las alumnas que más les cuesta poner atención. “Por primera vez las veo motivadas en participar de la clase. Se concentran más y hacen preguntas. Los papás también, piden más antecedentes para trabajar los contenidos con sus hijas, en la casa”, explica.
Mario Hamuy, presidente del Consejo de CONICYT, destaca que Tus Competencias en Ciencias, “fortalece el trabajo de las educadoras y educadores con actividades entretenidas de ciencia, los párvulos podrán tener un rol más protagónico en su proceso de aprendizaje, fomentando desde la infancia temprana actitudes como la exploración y la resolución de problemas”, afirma.

•Se reintegran a clases más de 15 mil alumnos de Educación Básica Comunitaria.
Morelia, Michoacán, 11 de enero.- El delegado del Consejo Nacional de Fomento Educativo (Conafe) en esta entidad, Alfredo Martínez Corona, señaló que “abatir el rezago educativo en la entidad es el principal propósito para el 2018 en Michoacán”.
Explicó que también se consolidará una cobertura de educación comunitaria del 100 por ciento en todo el estado, donde regresaron a clases sin incidentes 15 mil 183 alumnas y alumnos de educación básica comunitaria y más de 20 mil menores de 3 años se reintegraron con sus madres, padres y tutores a los cursos de educación inicial.
“Tenemos el firme propósito de ampliar la cobertura en comunidades donde hay demanda y no dejar a ningún infante sin la oportunidad de acceder a los servicios educativos que ofrece el Consejo”, subrayó el funcionario.
En esta tarea, agregó, es fundamental la participación de mil 667 jóvenes Líderes para la Educación Comunitaria (LEC) por lo que “estamos comprometidos a darles más apoyos y seguridad, así como dar las garantías y equipo que nos permitan baja la deserción de esos LEC a menos del 10%, y buscar erradicar el abandono”.
Michoacán, dijo Martínez Corona, trabaja con áreas educativas, implementación del modelo educativo de Aprendizaje Basado en la Colaboración y el Diálogo ABCD, “este año vamos a consolidar esa estrategia y garantizar que todas las figuras educativas y alumnos esté integrados a este modelo, corroborar en campo que los LEC están trabajando adecuadamente con el modelo ABCD, por lo que se realizaran visitas para corroborarlo”.
Sobre la implementación del nuevo modelo educativo de la Secretaría de Educación Pública a partir del ciclo escolar 2018-2019, el delegado del Consejo aseguró que “en el Conafe estamos listos para implementar el nuevo modelo de la SEP”.

Ministerio de la Producción evalúa implementar un CITE Forestal y Agropecuario en la región Cajamarca
El ITP realizó durante dos meses un levantamiento de información y halló que existe una masa crítica de mypes y productores forestales y agropecuarios con una demanda potencial significativa, que necesita ser potenciada a través de servicios tecnológicos.
Este CITE será útil para darle valor agregado a los productos más representativos de la región, en particular aquellos de la cadena láctea.
La ministra de la Producción, Rocío Barrios, se reunió esta mañana con el Gobernador Regional, Mesías Guevara, para dialogar sobre temas relacionados al desarrollo productivo de Cajamarca.
En la reunión, Barrios informó que el Instituto Tecnológico de la Producción (ITP) realizó durante dos meses un levantamiento de información en la región y halló que existe una masa crítica de mypes y productores que necesita capacitación y asistencia técnica para potenciarlas y acompañarlas en su ingreso al mercado.
“Queremos materializar un plan de trabajo que permita acompañar a Cajamarca en su desarrollo productivo. Es una región muy rica y con potencial, el desafío es intervenir como Estado para darle valor agregado a sus mejores productos, con la intención que puedan generar empleo y se conviertan en un motor de crecimiento”, destacó.
CITE Forestal y Agroindustrial
La titular de PRODUCE sostuvo que se va evaluar la puesta en marcha de un CITE Forestal y Agroindustrial en la región, que en principio funcione como una Unidad Técnica (UT).
Indicó que en las próximas semanas debería iniciarse la intervención a través de la Red de CITE existente, así como el establecimiento de plazos para la posterior implementación del nuevo CITE, con el apoyo del Gobierno Regional de Cajamarca.
“Solicitamos al GORE que nos permitan un lugar habilitado para el local del CITE y su compromiso de apoyar este proyecto”; añadió.
Asimismo, precisó que desde el próximo mes el ITP podría realizar talleres y capacitaciones en la región a través de CITE Cedepas Norte y CITE madera, así como la posibilidad de que mypes cajamarquinas realicen pasantías.
Actividades protocolares
Durante su visita a Cajamarca, la ministra Rocío Barrios participó en la feria Fongal, que promueve la participación de productores de café y cacao con el objetivo de conquistar nuevos mercados a nivel nacional e internacional.
La tradicional feria agropecuaria, agroindustrial, artesanal y turística de Cajamarca, se realiza del 23 al 30 de julio con la intención de mostrar a la población local y a los turistas nacionales y extranjeros, a los mejores expositores y productores de esta región.
De igual manera, estuvo presente en el lanzamiento de la estrategia Cero Papel, a la cual destacó. “En solo seis meses este GORE está dando un salto digital muy importante y los felicito. La transformación digital permite que estemos comunicados y que los ciudadanos accedan a los servicios desde la comodidad de sus hogares”, finalizó.

With no agricultural background, Dr. Panda has developed unique natural bonsai in his Vijnana Bana Ashram which also shows path for earning just by uprooting and nurturing the plants which are found to be small and thumb in nature.
Dr. Panda's Scientific Endeavour and research is no doubt praise worthy. One cannot but believe his dedicated effort in simple innovation laboratory.

Southern Regional Fuels Program recognized for implementing prescribed fire over 1.3 million acres this year
Wildfire season has intensified with “mega fires” becoming the norm across western landscapes. The Regional Fuels Program acknowledged it’s not “if,” but “when” the south will have to face similar wildfire seasons. Forests across the Southern Region applied prescribed fire on a regional record-high 1.3 million acres of federal lands. All of this was completed during a pandemic and a new budget modernization process.
The last decade, the U.S. wildfire season has intensified year after year with “mega fires” becoming common place across the western landscape. The Southern Regional Fuels Program acknowledged it’s not “if,” but when the south will have to face similar wildfire seasons as climate change continues making its mark. This Region accomplished implementing prescribed fire to more than 1.3 million acres in FY21, during a pandemic, and following a new budget modernization process.
Forest Service employees carried out the program of work while putting their trust in Regional leadership that the funding and needed resources would be provided. Every Ranger District executed its best effort on all burn days, managing the team's safety while meeting the objectives outlined in the interdisciplinary approved burn plans.
The Forest Service improved water quality, air quality, and carbon sequestration as it reduced the wildfire threat to local communities throughout the south, including Puerto Rico. Our employees embody the skills necessary to perform at a high level to accomplish the mission and communicate the benefits of their work to external audiences. This monumental feat would not have occurred without thousands of Southern USDA Forest Service Employees dedication and strong work ethic.
The success of the Regional Fuels Program was dependent on several individuals for their leadership and ability to communicate to make this year’s historic accomplishment possible.
Mike Ward has been at the helm of fuels management, overseeing suppression, aviation, and coordination functions to acquire the necessary resources and not overextending fire suppression needs. Ward coordinated with Air, Archeology, Biology, Budget, and Timber program managers to ensure a desired outcome by all.
Jason Demas has managed budget concerns and balanced fire suppression needs. Mike Seaton managed the surge modules stationed all around the Southern Region. Seaton communicated daily inside and outside the Geographical Area to keep a workforce available to meet Regional needs. Nancy Ellsworth was a critical contributor to streamlining the ordering process and troubleshooting with the National Interagency Coordination Center to improve the process.
Shardul Raval helped navigate the process to keep the Regional Leadership Team informed, while addressing concerns promptly. He had the bigger picture insight that led to the great success for all of our lands treated with prescribed fire.

En el marco de la reunión para el cumplimiento de los compromisos derivados de la 12° del GORE Ejecutivo, el viceministro de Mype e Industria, José Salardi, señaló que el gobierno, a través del Ministerio de la Producción (Produce), impulsará el desarrollo de las cadenas productivas de pesca, acuicultura, agroindustria y forestal en Loreto, a través de un trabajo articulado con las autoridades regionales.
En ese sentido, indicó que la reunión de los equipos técnicos de su sector y del gobierno regional, ha dado como resultado una serie de acuerdos que contribuirán para que Loreto se convierta en una región productiva en base a sus potencialidades. "Hemos identificado que estamos muy alineados en muchas intervenciones, incluso en aquellas que ya tenemos en camino", destacó.
Al respecto, Salardi precisó que al cierre del primer semestre estarán implementados al 100 % el CITE Forestal y el CITE Productivo Maynas. "Es una inversión de 22 millones de soles que ha realizado Produce a través del ITP. Con lo cual se ha puesto en valor estas infraestructuras importantes, para poder dar todo apoyo y soporte a las cadenas productivas de pesca, acuicultura y agroindustrias".
Manifestó que para el presente año proyectan prestar un mínimo de 1200 servicios de innovación y transferencia tecnológica, que ayudará a fortalecer las capacidades e innovar a las diferentes industrias de esta región.
Asimismo, informó que otros de los compromisos es la pronta apertura del Centro de Desarrollo Empresarial del programa “Tu Empresa”, para promover la formalización de 400 nuevas unidades de negocio.
De otro lado, Salardi indicó que el sector espera cerrar el año inaugurando el Gran Mercado de Belén. "Se está avanzando a un nivel importante. El proyecto está a más de 50% de ejecución y en el presupuesto de este año se han incluido 50 millones de soles para su culminación", apuntó.
Acciones en pesca y acuicultura
De otro lado, el viceministro Salardi informó que, a través del FONDEPES, Produce iniciará la construcción del primer desembarcadero pesquero artesanal de la Amazonia “La Punchana”, para lo cual se ha destinado una inversión de hasta S/ 22 000 000.
Asimismo, este fondo realizará un proyecto piloto para la implementación de aislamiento térmico en embarcaciones pesqueras artesanales para el adecuado transporte de los productos hidrobiológicos. "Con esta actividad, se espera incrementar los fondos para créditos destinados a los pescadores artesanales y acuicultores de la región hasta por un valor de S/ 250 000", destacó.
Otro de los acuerdos es la implementación de mejoras en los servicios del Centro Acuícola Nuevo Horizonte, por un valor de hasta S/ 14 000 000, con ello se mejorarán los servicios de producción y distribución de alevinos para la ampliación de la frontera acuícola, así como la capacitación operativa especializada a los productores de la Región.
Mercado de Putumayo
Más tarde, el viceministro Salardi hizo entrega oficial al alcalde provincial de Putumayo, Humberto Fuentes, del expediente técnico aprobado para la ejecución del proyecto "Mejoramiento del Mercado Municipal de la Ciudad de San Antonio del Estrecho".
Esta importante acción del gobierno en una ciudad de frontera con Colombia, cuenta con una inversión de más de 4 millones de soles y beneficiará a más de 3000 habitantes.
Las obras se realizarán en un terreno de 1410 m2, donde se implementarán 40 puestos de comercio, con una moderna infraestructura e innovaciones que garantizarán la alta calidad de los productos.
