Meet Georgia. She's come with fellow RCA grads to show off ideas/products that got sidelined when Covid did a big degree show cancel. She's telling me about her quilt, made with the residents of West Kensington and Gibbs Green Estates. "There we were in a tall building at college isolated from nearby communities. They have so much to teach us, Ithought. As designers, we need to connect with people..." So she reached out to this nearby estate. "Why shouldn't students work more with local communities within higher education?" The graduates are at 35 Thurloe Place, just minutes from South Ken tube, during the London Design Festival. But it's a small space so you may have to queue...
Have you ever imagined water skiing through the park? No - neither have I.
Can you imagine what this man or woman is doing here? Just for a tease, Ithought I would let you imagine it, and I will post the answer next.

When we got off the metro for the louvre there was a sign for La Carousel which i couldnt wait to see as ithought it was a vintage merry go round (duh dumb blonde moment)
It turned out to be this beautiful monument which i adored and Gordon laughed for hours when i realised there was no merry go round.

At 8:40 Ithought this sign was funny. An arrow pointing to a bus stop saying "No Standing." Hah. Very funny.
By 9:40 (ten minutes after my bus was supposed to have left) it was starting to taunt and mock me.
By 11:00 (when my bus finally did leave, and hour and a half late) I wanted to jump up at tear this dumb sign to the ground. Hardy harr, so funny MegaBus.
Between the aburd delay, the screaming crazies, the cold breakfast, the Ned Stevens billboard, and the bus breaking down for 15 minutes 2 blocks from the Lincoln Tunnel I had quite the morning.
Le sigh.
Good news is that my baby brother is in his first ever high school show tonight and I get to go see it!!! I'm so excited!!
It is so exciting that he is continuing on and being part of the department that meant everything to me during my time in high school.
I can't wait to see him (and everyone else!) perform! :)
Soooo proud.
