These three pictures were at one of the houses we went caroling at. Ithought they were absolutely beautiful and very tasteful.

Playing around, AGAIN. To me this little chap reminds me of a fish, especially the nose part. It seems porpoise like. But then again maybe not!! LOL

HCS

Following some agreement that there is a fish like characteristic to this shot, Ithought a better Cliche title would be the above rather than the original Free Willy.

Ithought these looked like little umbrellas. My husband said he's always called them Horseshoe Mushrooms. I have no idea what they are but I thought they were pretty. Looks like a little city on the side of the tree.

Update: I found out they are also called Oyster Mushrooms

A relatively uncommon epiphany of the Hindu elephant headed god Ganesh is of him in a standing position. This pot bellied god is usually depicted in a sitting position. And yes, while I share my name Shankar with the other god Shiva you saw earlier, I certainly share the pot belly of Ganesh! This is in the Ganesh Himal museum in Chiang Mai. Locals believe that if you give the statue a bath, then your life will be cleansed too. I am a bit of an agnostic but if you believe in that sort of thing, then whatever rocks your boat! And Ithought that if it is one for the cameras, then why not? (Chiang Mai, north Thailand, Oct. 2018)

Michelina's Swedish Meatballs are the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker -- probably extinct. After buying a few in 2014, I had not seen them again for nearly two years, and had saved the last of the few I bought (on the left). Until...

I was in Wal-Mart in Hammond, IN, just over the border from Chicago, and what to my wondering eyes should appear but... the Mother Lode of my favorite frozen entree (on the right)! Fearing another drought, I bought TEN. At least, now I know where to get them, and a shortcut from my house.

Ithought, when I took this picture that it had an Eerie look to it so I alter the color scheme to make it eeven creepier

I LOVE THIS! It's my first cup. My baby cup. It's perfect. As a child I would drink every colored Kool-Aid imaginable from this thing. Now it sits on my shelf and is admired every day. But since Halloween is just around the corner Ithought it would be appropriate if candy filled it today.

Essex June 7th. Before I started 'the fill" colours, Ithought it looked good with what was on the wall already.....I had Sick and Reakt saying yeah leave it like that...So I went for it!

Taken at Lakenheath, not sure what the prey is.

It has a rat like tail, but a black rat ? Ithought it might be a water vole but it

looks far too big. Any ideas?

Found on a road trip with Scott Branine. Ithought that the wire fence was interesting!

I am desperate to get out and take more photos - and I do have the opportunity to do so on Sunday, the problem I find now is that as I get out so infrequently (compared to the frequency I used to) I build up these walks with such great expectation that it's hard for them to match up to my expectations. Let's hope this isn't the case and that I come back with something nice and failing that at least have a nice walk.

This one's for Yetti - and Yetti's friends, who are currently having a discussion about buddleia (Buddleja) and its effects on butterflies.

As I found this on the wonderful campsite we visited this weekend (and it's made my mind up what sort I want in my garden) Ithought I'd pass on the info........

Then again it might be Charlie Ord, Ithought this was the first ascent but I'm less sure now.

great photo of the fence, but sorry the helicopter is blurred beyond recognition...well, sort of

Last one from Batemans, I think! Not quite framed how I saw it (Ithought I had more space at the bottom) but I still like the light in this. It really was a 'saw it, grabbed it' shot.

“Somebody suggested I go to Namaqualand because of the different flowers there. I went Ithought it was going to be dry, brown but there is a lot of colour diversity there. I went there in 2012 and after a few days I realised it was too beautiful to not exhibit. So I decided to get the best photos and display them here (at the City Life Baptist Church).“It went to Port Elizabeth and then I brought it back to Cape Town and opened the exhibit in Athlone. The exhibition is currently on at the public library. “The library started displaying my photos of the minstrels and then of Namaqualand.” She wants people to look at the photographs and then be inspired to create their own artworks. “We are looking for people to express themselves because we exhibit their work so they become visible. The idea is to grow it and when it is big enough, I think I will move it closer to the city centre.”Ms Savary said the objective of the project was to reveal Cape beauty by using colours and photography.Capetonians, she said, were invited to express the stories they attached to pictures. She added a side to the project was to generate colour codes by associating positive messages.Ms Savary also helped organise a project in collaboration with the Alpha School for autism in Woodstock and the French School in Cape Town to celebrate World Autism Day on April 2. According to Autism Western Cape, one in 88 children are affected by autism.Children with autism are very often stigmatised, especially those living in disadvantaged areas where there is a severe lack of understanding. Autism is a neuro-developmental condition that affects language and communication. The objective was to celebrate autism in a different artistic way.She photocopied the images and asked the children affected by autism to colour them. “Students of the French school decorated the Alpha school peace garden with images of Namaqualand flowers and gave autistic children photocopies of images to be coloured. What was very important for us was that we had never seen a child with autism before. Now we were with them in their garden and they were colouring and we saw we could work with them. They created a new flower from the picture with crayons. They have created objects using the flower and then we have exhibited these at Alliance Francaise with the original photo as a reference.” She said you could see the happiness and pride the children got from it and they put in a lot of effort.“You can work with them and they can be very creative. We got the space from Alliance Francaise to celebrate the international day of autism in Cape Town, the boxes used by the children were supplied by ERKE.“My formula is to extend photography in different ways and I don't know what other ways there are.”Ms Savary also has an exhibition on hair at the City Life Baptist Church in Cape Town whichcloses next Thursday and will open a new exhibition on urban plants soon. For more informationcontact Ms Savary on 082344 2601.Please note this transcript is based on the original Atlantic Sun article, but the errors printed in the paper have been corrected.
