People favourably respond to Change
Generally speaking, people don't change for the better when criticized. But they do respond favourably to praise.
Huaxi Cun is not the worst place in China, and it has been following and sometimes leading the objectives and trends of the government and Chinese people - first it was to get rich - and clean up the mess later. We did this in the West on our own schedule, some Chinese are doing it now under the generally hypocritical pressure of the global community.

An aspirational monument - if you choose to see it that way..
When I was invited to Huaxi Cun for the inauguration of the “Village in the Sky”, (www.tudou.com/programs/view/05XpJXkiNwI/ ) I spoke of the new tower as a beacon for all to see, not in terms of opulence and excess, but as a towering 3 element "Symbol of Sustainability" - an aspirational symbol rising above all else - including the cookie-cutter villas, the grubby factories, the money focus and the faux world landmarks - to shock and awe viewers into realizing that all monuments have a message – and this one should inspire people to make the connection between Heaven, Earth and the People (Tian, Di, Ren 天地人) and that to achieve Wu Renbao’s “Heaven on Earth”… the Triple-Bottom-Line balance between Society, Environment and Economy (社会,环境,经济)must become Huaxi’s new ethic.

"Now that Huaxi village is rich, what's next?"
Following my presentation, the new building’s architect Ma Xusheng, in turn praised my interpretation of his building’s design, saying that no one had thought of it before, but that “with your new ‘Society, Environment, Economy ‘meaning attached, our building is even richer”.
At a private dinner with village leaders the evening before, I had shamelessly asked: “Now that Huaxi village is rich, what’s next?” – hoping to encourage them to expound on how they were going to share Huaxi’s wealth and expertise with other communities and to build sustainable enterprises based on a model ecological civilisation… however the response was understandable, as a bit more thinking is required; and considering most people’s focus was still on showing off and celebrating what they have achieved so far, the answer was a simple “Gambei!”

i'm annoyed that you think my photos exude homosexuality.
i'm also annoyed that you said i hug myself in all my photos.
you're a giant hypocrite.
so just for you: here's a photo of me hugging myself.
Nikon D3200 _ 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 _
I was in Collingwood the past weekend and took this photo of the pier and old granary. The city has been built around this marsh in Georgian bay. This marsh is the bread basket for many of the species that live in or around the Bay. We build around lakes because the flora and fauna are beautiful...but by virtue it hurts the thing that drew us to the space in the first place. I say all this as I happily use the board walk running through the marsh...hypocrite.
I consider myself a happy person. Positive and upbeat. One of my clients even exclaims that while he comes for my professional care and skills he also comes to me to soak up some of my positive outlook and happiness! So totally awesome!
Its easier for me to be other and upbeat for others. . . but on the flip side or rather in this case an INside. I often wear a smile on the external even when the inward is feeling down and out. I find this is rather hypocritical. . . like I'm really not walking my talk.
The past two years have been rough and while filled with awesome smile worthy times, others totally took me to my lowest spots and brought the darker more negative view on life front and center. I smiled allot when I didn't feel it, I forced myself to be upbeat even though I felt like crawling into a hole.
I'm not sure if that was good or bad in that grand scheme of things. Maybe it helped, maybe it hurt. I DO know now is this SMILE of mine is about to getting some reviving with 100% authenticity! :)

OMG,I actually have marks on the ends of my fingers from the amount of testing I have been doing.......now that really is unheard of for me, never in my 19 years as a type 1 have I seen any marks from testing (The photo is a box of lancets which are the delightful little things responsible for finger pricking and causing the lovely "pepperpot" look to the end of my fingers!!!!)
Since Monday I have tested my blood sugars 23 times......Monday I did 6, yesterday I did 10 and today I have done 7.......so far. This is more than I used to do in an entire month (or sometimes 6 months!!!). In the last month or so since I made the decision to sort myself out I have tested on average 6 to 8 times per day, sometimes more - so why this sudden turnaround?? The promise of a pump can do funny things to a girl.
It's been a looooooong time coming but being told I can have an insulin pump has really made me pull my socks up and focus on what I need to do, i.e. learn to carb count and learn to see patterns in my sugar levels so I can get the insulin ratios correct. I'm still pretty new to all this and have only had one appointment / carb counting 'lesson' with my dietician (the aptly named Mrs. Crisp) so far. I have been told that once she is happy that I am an 'expert' carb counter I will be able to actually get the pump and have the training on how to use it with my pump nurse, so I am determined to get the hang of it all as quickly as physically possible.
In the past I have either not bothered testing or if I have, I have just tested, written the result down in my monitoring diary and then forgotten about it, now however, I am actually trying to see patterns in the results that I'm getting - not that there's often a clear pattern at the moment as things are still quite up and down but the basics are there. I'm thinking this may be something to do with the fact that my levels have been running so high for so long that it will take a while for things to settle down (I hope its as simple as that anyway).
Another major wake up call for me has been the diagnosis of proliferative retinopathy. ("Retinopathy affects the blood vessels supplying the retina – the seeing part of the eye. Blood vessels in the retina of the eye can become blocked, leaky or grow haphazardly. This damage gets in the way of the light passing through to the retina and if left untreated can damage vision" - www.diabetes.org.uk/ - more about this in a future post). Hearing the news that my eyesight is failing was the kick up the arse I so badly needed to finally make me do something about my diabetes instead of pretending it doesn't exist - obviously this includes actually testing my blood sugar levels and reacting to whatever the result may be rather than just testing for the sake of it (or not testing at all).
Ok, so back to testing itself......it's not exactly a fun pastime and it can make your fingers really quite sore at times, as I'm only just finding out, but it is such an important part of treating diabetes. I feel like a bit of a hypocrite writing that to be honest as I've not exactly been what you would call a "good diabetic" over the years. It's almost as if my eyes and ears have been closed for years and now all of a sudden I'm seeing the bigger picture and realising that this thing isn't going to go away no matter how much I try to ignore it. It is a serious condition and it needs a serious amount of commitment from those of us who have it. I know it may all sound a bit like it's too little to late in my case but I really do want to try and reverse some of the damage I have no doubt done to my body over the years and also keep any further complications as far off in the distant future as I possibly can.
P.S. All good results today apart from a couple of highs this morning (although these are actually not that high for me) of 13.8 and 11.3, then it all came good with 6.4, 7.3, 4.4, 4.3 then went a bit too low around dinner time with 3.3 which I put down to the hot weather. Had a couple of mini cadbury's creme eggs ("YUM") and my dinner so we'll see later on what that's done to my levels.
Ooooh, and I have finally got me a sharps container for the first time ever - bit of a sad thing to get excited about but all these things are little steps towards getting things under control and sorted out!!!! :o)
When it comes to an Arab or Muslim leader who didn't obey America he's a terrorist who is willing to destroy the world, of course *America* must save the day by killing more innocent people.
But when it comes to Jews killing Palestinian people they are defending their self or they just say *they started to attack us* (by throwing stones?-,-) or when it comes to killing kids they say oh that was a mistake we are sorry it won't happen again, hence they keep doing that mistake over and over but as you all know they are jews, it's a mistake people forgive them.
Let's see, just take a brief look at the picture, I think they are taking her for a walk

Humbug! Poppycock! Balderdash! Bah!
Scavengers and sycophants and flatterers and fools.
Pharisees and parasites and hypocrites and ghouls!
Calculating swindlers, prevaricating frauds,
Perpetrating evil as they roam the earth in hordes,
Feeding on their fellow men,
Reaping rich rewards.
Contaminating everything they see,
Corrupting honest men! Like me.
I hate people! I HATE people!
People are despicable creatures,
Loathsome, inexplicable creatures,
Good-for-nothing kickable creatures.
I hate people!
I abhor them.
When I see the indolent classes
Sitting on their indolent asses,
Gulping ale from indolent glasses,
I hate people!
I detest them!
I deplore them!
Fools who have no money spend it,
Get in debts then try to end it,
Beg me on their knees befriend them,
Knowing I have cash to lend them.
Soft-hearted me! Hard-working me!
Clean-living, thrifty,... and kind as can be!
Situations like this are of interest to me.
I hate people!
I loathe people!
I despise and abominate people!
Life is full of cretinous wretches
Earning what their sweatiness fetches.
Empty minds whose pettiness stretches
Further than I can see.
Little wonder I hate people,
And I don't care if they hate me!
—I Hate People, from Scrooge (The Musical).
Were I to play Scrooge, this is how he'd look. I'm known to put on voices. With a British mum, even though I was born American and lived much of my life there, I can do a fair number of British accents (and a few others besides). Whenever I have put on this face, a certain personality and voice come to mind, one very like Scrooge, in fact.
This particular photo was taken back on 19 November 2008. I searched YouTube back then for a relevant video and found the wonderful excerpt to which I've linked above. Enjoy! And, if you've a mind to, make sure to open a separate window that you might follow along with the lyrics as they're sung. When you've done that, take a look at this on black.
(FOOTNOTE: Scrooge's attitude does not mirror mine, so don't mistake this entry for my attitude. Please.)
On the edge of the world - where emerging meets emerged and the claws of the greed machine are moving ever further towards the day that there is no stone unturned... I do hate being such a hypocrite... sometimes.
Several people in our apartment complex have been feeding these foxes for a couple years. We don't agree with it...but when I was taking these photos, it was standing there waiting for food. We felt bad since they just had babies...so we hypocritically fed them hot dogs.
lazybone : do u really wanna leave me?
wangwang : hum i don't know...
lazybone : don't be hypocritically...i know u
wangwang : what!!
lazybone : i know everything, look ur belly, u r pregnant.
wangwan : oh~~ no... i still love u
lazybone : no~u don't love me, the only u care about is ...
is.... beef canned food!!
wangwang : sorry, but im a pregnant woman, i need eat more food, i can't play with u now.
lazybone : .......
wangwang : but i'll back when i finish my dinner, see u..
lazybone : DON'T GO.......

Recently I had come across so many people with rotten bones from that place because they are so jealous; that includes many neighbours, relatives, and others. Hypocrites, stop fooling a bunch of dumb dogs around you, it's not worth living like that, this world is very big,

Books are true friends of consciousness, not an impersonator nor a hypocrite. It can be arranged accordingly as you please.
The messages it bring stays intact.
‘Resourcefulness’
Books are man best friend ever.

A very quick snap* through the hedge at the top of our driveway---baby chaffinches. I think these are about a week old.
*Please note, this really was a very quick single snap through the hedge. I agonized a bit over uploading it, as (although this will sound hypocritical) I don't want to encourage others to take shots of nestlings. I have been watching this nest, from a distance, since it was built, and walk by it several times every day, and I always treat wildlife with the respect and care it deserves and needs. I thought these were too cute not to share :)
I mean really... why use a teleprompter when you can just write the notes on your hand.
Some are speculating that the notes on her hand were not for the speech she was giving but actually for the Q&A session that was to follow. IMHO, that's even worse. She has notes written to remind her how to answer questions that have not been asked yet. How fake is that???????
Before anyone jumps on me for bashing a Republican ... I'm not bashing a republican, I'm bashing an idiot and hypocrite. All politicians are the same ... regardless of party affiliation.

This is some of my neighbor's stuff. First she broke out her screen with a shovel, of all things. You can see how carefully she preserved the screen to use again. That has been there several weeks now. Then she didn't want me to come near, or she didn't want another neighbor to weed-whack. Personally, I think the clippers are sort of stabbed into the ground with somewhat of a threatening gesture. They are about a foot into *her side* of that section of weeds and grass and day lilies, and I had no plans to go there anyway.
So what do you think?. Am I being paranoid, or is this sort of threatening? This is the same neighbor that turned her oscillating sprinkler on my front door years ago, and said I was crazy and she was going to get me evicted, and called me an "as**ole" not too long ago. She puts her garbage in my can and she smokes like a chimney though we are not supposed to smoke here.

Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) - Chris Tomlin
Adrian Rogers
It’s an unthinkable question: What if there had been no Easter? What if death had conquered and Jesus Christ stayed in the tomb?
Now if Christ be preached that He rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ: whom He raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 1 Corinthians 15:12-19
There are six tragic things that would be true if Christ is still in that grave.
1. Preaching Would Be Profitless
“And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain.”
If Christ is still in the grave, you’re wasting your time; I'm wasting mine. Preaching would be profitless, vain and empty.
“This is the gospel, that Christ died for our sins, that He was buried and rose again the third day…” (v. 4).
Without that, there is no gospel to preach.
2. Faith Would Be Foolish
Faith is no better than its object. Why put faith in a dead Messiah? A dead man can’t save anyone. Our faith in Jesus Christ is worthless if He is still in the grave.
But He is shown to be “the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead” (Romans 1:4). Confucius died; he’s dead. Buddha died; he’s dead. Mohammad died; he’s dead. Jesus Christ is alive. But if He’s still in the grave, faith is foolish.
3. The Disciples Are Deceivers
Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God… (v. 15)
Paul is not saying “We’re mistaken.” It’s one thing to be mistaken; it’s another to be a false witness. Paul asserts, “If Jesus Christ is still in the grave, then we’re telling a lie.”
Were the disciples liars? If so, why would they lie? The disciples openly exclaimed, “Listen, we have seen Him! We have touched Him!” And they died as martyrs: tortured, persecuted, burned at the stake, torn apart by lions. Hypocrites and martyrs are not made of the same stuff. People tell lies to get out of trouble, not into trouble. Few will die for what they know is a lie.
Was Peter a con man, John the apostle a crook? Was Paul a known perjurer? If Christ is still in the grave, the disciples would be deceivers.
4. Sin Would Be Sovereign
“And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.” (v. 17)
You have no hope of forgiveness apart from the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. If He is in the grave, then God did not accept the sacrifice of Calvary.
How do we know that Jesus Christ is not just a religious fanatic with a martyr complex who happened to get crucified? How do we know God accepted the sacrifice of Calvary? The resurrection. No resurrection, no Savior. No Savior, no forgiveness. His death without His resurrection cannot save anybody.
5. Death Has Dominion
“Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ have perished.” (v. 18)
Do you have a loved one who has died? If Jesus Christ be not raised, then they’ve perished. It is over. Life is nothing but a cruel joke. All we can look forward to is the downward spiral to the grave. No! Something as glorious as human life has more meaning than that. Those fallen asleep in Christ have not perished. The Lord Jesus Christ grappled with the iron bars of death and is victorious. Death does not have dominion! Christ arose!
6. The Future Is Fearful
“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” (v. 19)
Without the resurrection, we’re just poor, deluded fools, of all people most miserable. A wise man once said, “If Jesus Christ is still in that grave, nothing really matters. But if Jesus Christ came out of that grave, nothing but that really matters.”
A Hope Steadfast and Sure
Jesus Christ took the sting out of sin, the dread out of death, the gloom out of the grave, and gave us a hope that is steadfast and sure. Preaching is profitable, faith is feasible, the disciples are dependable, sin has been subdued, death has been defeated, and the future is fabulous…for we know where we’re headed!

I used two textures of my own.
So I found another one of my photos being used online without my permission. "Evangelical Magazine" used one of my shots from Eastern State Penitentiary without permission or even a photo credit. James L. Alcorn, Brigadier General, Mississippi State Militia, called Jeff Davis a "miserable, stupid, one-eyed, dyspeptic, arrogant tyrant" and said he prayed to see Davis "Damned! and sunk into the lowest Hell."
Gen P.G.T. Beauregard, CSA, called Jefferson Davis "that living specimen of gall and hatred". He said "The curse of God must have been on our people [the Confederates] to choose him [as leader]". After his Davis's death, Beauregard said "I cannot pretend I am sorry he is gone. I am no hypocrite."
Those who maintained loyalty to the USA had much lower opinions of him than did his fellow Confederates.
The media complain about the price of Palin's wardrobe, but are silent about Obama buying the election...hypocrites!
