On June 30, 2014, the BLM hosted the 2014 Seed Conference to celebrate 20 years of public-private partnerships for native plant conservation. The Conference brought together 12 federal agencies to renew a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that continues the work of the Federal Native Plant Conservation Committee of the Plant Conservation Alliance (PCA) and its cooperators in State government and non-government organizations. The PCA is a public-private partnership of governments and non-government organizations that share the same goal of protecting native plants by ensuring that native plant populations and their communities are maintained, enhanced, and restored.
The MOU commits Federal agencies to bolster the collective capacity of the PCA Committee to leverage funds and tools through efforts with non-federal partners. The MOU calls for Federal agencies to assist non-Federal land managers in plant conservation and protection efforts. It also calls for innovative partnerships among public and private sectors, nationally and internationally, to conserve native plants and their habitats before they become critically endangered.
Under the MOU, the Committee agrees to identify and recommend, as appropriate, priority conservation needs for native plants and their habitats and coordinate implementation of programs for addressing those needs.
The Committee Members include the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, Federal Highway Administration, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution, United States Botanic Garden, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service, USDA Forest Service, USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and U.S. Geological Survey.

To celebrate the anniversary of Belgrade's liberation from Nazi occupation, the Serbian capital hosted its first military parade in nearly 30 years. Some 4,500 troops participated in the event, which was attended by both Serbian and Russian leaders.
Speaking at the festivities, Russian President Vladimir Putin – who was a guest of honor at the parade – said that although the Soviet Union was responsible for the fight against the Nazis, Russia has "never divided the victory into 'its own' and 'foreign,' and will always remember the help of allies by the anti-Hitler coalition, the participants of the resistance movement."

The fall 2012 hackNY student hackathon brought in hundreds of students to NYU's Courant Institute for 24 hours of creative collaborative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.
NYC Startups, selected by a student organizing committee, presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, after which students formed groups to work through the night implementing their own ideas for fresh hacks built on top of these APIs.
On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel featuring members of the NYC startup community, which selected the final winning teams.
Since April 2010, hackNY hosts student hackathons one each semester, as well as the hackNY Fellows program, a structured internship which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment: a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup in NYC.
To find out what you missed at the fall 2012 hackNY student hackathon please do see our eventpage at hackerleague.org and the video of the student demos thanks to ISOC-NY.
Special thanks to our fall 2012 hackNY student hackathon judges! And congratulations to the winners of the fall 2012 hackNY student hackathon!

About Amazon Studios’ Bosch
Based on Michael Connelly’s internationally best-selling Harry Bosch book series with nearly 50 million copies sold,Bosch follows relentless LAPD homicide detective Harry Bosch as he pursues the killer of a 13-year-old boy while standing trial in federal court on accusations that he murdered a suspected killer in cold blood. Primarily based on elements from Connelly’s books City of Bones (2002), The Concrete Blonde (1994) and Echo Park (2006), Bosch’s investigation takes on a life and death urgency when a killer who has confessed to the boy’s murder escapes custody and begins a murderous rampage across Los Angeles. He and the killer are locked in a cat and mouse game, with the killer taunting Bosch as the investigation turns deeply personal. The case unearths Bosch’s buried past as well as entangling his ex-wife and 14-year-old daughter. The season takes the viewer through back streets and neighborhoods of Los Angeles rarely seen on-screen.

The Panathinaiko Stadium in Athens is the only major stadium in the world built entirely of white marble. In ancient times it was used to host the athletic portion of the Panathenaic Games in honour of the Goddess Athena. During classical times the stadium had wooden seating. It was remade in marble by the archon Lycurgus in 329 BC and was enlarged and renovated by Herodes Atticus in 140 AD, to a seated capacity of 50,000. The remnants of the ancient structure were excavated and refurbished for the revival of the Olympic Games. The stadium was refurbished a second time in 1895 for the 1896 Olympics.
The stadium was built long before dimensions for athletics venues were standardized and its track and layout follow the ancient hairpin-like model. It can seat about 80,000 spectators on 50 rows of marble steps.

This is the big project I mentioned the other week, I am very excited to present to you "Dancing with the Dolls".
I will be supporting Cosentino on “Dancing with the Stars” and decided to challenge myself and do “Dancing with the Dolls”. First it was going to be just a DWTS themed photo shoot, then I thought about having couples of dolls in a competition but decided to just feature Valentino and Aimi as Cosentino and Jessica Raffa. Jessica Raffa is my favourite of the instructors so I am happy they are working together.
My challenge with be to each week create a photo that represents the dance Cosentino had to do. There will be a panel of judges (and some commotion within), two hosts both called Nat and celebrity appearances. This photo series is inspired by the TV show but will be fiction and is intended for the purpose of fun.
Good luck to all the contestants on “Dancing with the Stars” and good luck to me with “Dancing with the Dolls”. Let the dancing begin!

Miami Habitat is holding its seventh Women Build through December 3, 2011, in Liberty City. More than 200 women will come together to volunteer to build a home for partner family Tiara Armstrong and her five year old daughter Jamaria, just in time for the holidays. “My family was very happy and we cried tears of joy when we found out that I was accepted to the program,” said Armstrong. “Owning my own home will be a blessing!”
Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity International program underwritten by Lowe’s which brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions worldwide. Since the program’s inception in 1998, Women Build volunteers have constructed more than 1,800 houses, including six in Miami-Dade County.
Miami Habitat’s Women Build is in line with its ongoing Liberty City Shine campaign, which aims to build or rehab 90 homes in Liberty City in the coming year. Women Build recruits, educates and inspires women to build decent and affordable homes for low-income families in their communities. Many women come to the Women Build site without previous construction experience and find their inner Rosie the Riveter as they learn new skills and make a positive impact in the community. Their leadership and service are changing lives.

On 3rd March 2023, ESCP London Campus hosted its 18th Annual Student Gala. Staged at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, the event attracted 300 students from 7 different degree programmes and many members of ESCP faculty and professional services for what is one of the highlights of the London Campus' social calendar.
The Annual Gala guests celebrated its community and the innovative spirit embedded in ESCP’s genes. It remains the only pan-European school, with six campuses in Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Turin and Warsaw.
The event drew attention to the School’s achievements over the past 12 months and the success of its diverse student community, which the London Campus Dean, Associate Professor Kamran Razmdoost, highlighted in his opening speech.
During the night, the guests were treated to a surprise performance from BOX9, a UK leading drumline and bass collective. Their past performances included shows hosted by Netflix, Strictly Come Dancing, Glastonbury Festival, NFL, Jean Paul Gaultier and many more.
The event continued until late on the dance floor, with music provided by signed Universal Music label artist DJ and ESCP alumnus (2017) Harold Van Lennep.
Carolina and Salvador were our hosts and not only very kindly showed us their project but we share a great meal with them, and of course the pisco tasting.
We tried Quebranta, Acholado and Italia. Pisco is a destilled made of grape made in Peru and a great spiritous drink. It can be used in cocktails or straight.

Escuela Declara
Yesterday I hosted a workshop about hosting and community producing on (and across) the increasingly prolific number of services which are available, in contrast to those we know and love (i.e. message boards and blogs). I've created notes of the text.
Black text is what I feel the golden rules of hosting anywhere are. Green text is text that we added during the workshop, which is about specific services. The idea was to compare and contrast to see whether the role of community managers is changing.
It seemed to me that the golden rules are still the same, but some things are more appropriate on some services than others.
Cycling out from one cemetery, looking at an entrance to another. The Tesla turned to the left, as did I, although I found my way to the bike path without incident this time. It can sometimes be a long wait here. They repaved the road a while back, and moved the pedestrian crossing for a few days. Also closed off the cycle lane on this side for a week or so. I had at least one close call here then, where I was inches away from being hit by a car while cycling out from here.
On December 4 to 6, the Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings will host its 12th annual Saban Forum, titled “Israel and the United States: Yesterday, today, and tomorrow.” The 2015 Saban Forum will feature remarks by Israel’s Minister of Defense Moshe Ya’alon, Secretary of State John Kerry, and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The forum’s webcast sessions will focus on the future for Israelis and Palestinians, Iran’s role in the Middle East, spillover from the war in Syria, and the global threat posed by the Islamic State and other violent jihadi groups.
Over the past twelve years, the Saban Forum has become the premier platform for frank dialogue between American and Israeli leaders from government, civil society, business, and the media. As a result, the Saban Forum is a seminal event, generating new ideas and helping shape the future of the U.S.-Israel relationship.
The Saban Forum has hosted many distinguished leaders in previous years, including President Barack Obama, President William J. Clinton, President George W. Bush, Vice President Joe Biden, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Economy Naftali Bennet, HM King Abdullah of Jordan, President Shimon Peres, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, and Secretaries of State John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, and Henry Kissinger.
