High school dare photo that turned out rather well. Sadly, my companion, Denise committed suicide a little over ten years later. She stepped in front of a train. I still miss her.
In this photograph, I am sitting on the landing halfway up our stairs (connecting the living room on the first floor with the sitting room on the second floor, and thence to the bedrooms).
This was the day that we discovered that if an object isn't 30 inches or less in some dimension, it will NOT go up the stairs. This couch? 31.5 inches in its smallest direction. It was the third couch/loveseat we tried to take upstairs that day (long story). We were plumb wore out, so after whamming it against the constriction in various positions, we decided to take a rest. My husband rested his (downhill) end on the railing, and we suddenly discovered we could both let go and it would just sit there, braced between the bannister post and the wall.
This let us take a breather, AND run for the camera, so it was a win all around, really.

The latest show at Guerrero Gallery, which features new work by AJ Fosik, ErinRiley, and Ben Venom, opened to a large crowd on a warm Saturday night. Theopening was much-anticipated by fans who have come to love the unique aestheticof AJ Fosik’s work. All in all, the show really expands the limits of folk art and pushesthe conventions that usually come to mind when one thinks of quilting, sewing, weaving, woodworking and building. Each of the artists works in a unique mediumthat is becoming more and more rare, and it was great to see each artist put acontemporary spin on these traditional ways of creating.
