🐾 A beautiful and playful Border Collie puppy.

Its spots remind me of a small panda.

This is my new baby girl! I went to meet her 2 weeks ago and this is one of the many images I took of her. She will be coming home on July 17. We can't wait!

As Jasper's energy levels rise, tender moments such as this might be far and few between, except of course when he's sleeping. This pup is go, go, go then crashes for a nap then off again! Speaking of which, he has my shoe..gotta run!!

Allie the yellow Border Collie working on being patient with a small flock of sheep.

While driving home from our AM hike, I smelled a horrible aroma behind me. *Jasmine* had rolled in something smelly !! Here she is getting a much needed bath !! [ Happy Furry Friday].

I was having good luck with getting Echo (black tri) to pose in front of the tree, but Jax would NOT keep still. Got a new walkabout lens for Christmas and wanted to try it out today, Finally got a shot of the two dogs together - ah, the wonder of holding a treat in one hand, camera in the other.

I was running last minute errands on Christmas eve. Didn't know what to make of this scene.

- Dwingelderveld National Park is the largest uninterrupted swathe of wet heath in the Netherlands; as such, it turns completely purple from mid-August until mid-September, a place of great hidden beauty!

The shepherd drives his flock nearly throughout the year from the fold to the heath in the morning. He is assisted by one or two herding dogs.

The flock consists of the old sheep breed from Drenthe, the Drents heideschaap (Drenthe heath sheep).

He was upset that I was paying more attention to my camera than him. He's a shetland sheepdog.

"Mirror, Mirror in the tide pool, who's the prettiest dog of all?"

Jasmine is wearing sunglasses here because even on an overcast day, she "squints". She looks rather serious here....but perked up in the next shot. See below! Have a wonderful Sunday. [ I don't usually crop Jasmine so tight, but wanted a "different" look--the focus more on the tulips behind her].

Shepherd / Herder

(Exp.9sep2016)

I know these sunglasses are over the top...but you have to admit these horse shoes shape glasses are just right for a herding dog. Have a nice Father's Day.

I can't resist her "head tilt".

Happily watching over his flock by sunset light.

Ahh, the ups & downs of owning a difficult pup like Flynn.... Last week, I shared the very special moment when he came over & rested his head gently on my lap, for the first time in nearly 2 years. This morning, for the first time in about 6 months, Flynn bit me. It wasn't exactly a brilliant start to our day - although I am OK & it certainly woke me up! Now that this sort of thing so rarely happens, in some ways it is more upsetting on the occasions when he does slip up but setbacks are bound to happen & we've come such a long way in the past couple of years!

I gave us both a few hours to calm down, then late this afternoon we went out on one of Flynn's favourite walks. He had a great time herding & stalking me through the woods & fields, chasing squeaky balls & paddling in puddles. I enjoyed the light & took a few photos. I liked this one... Flynn at his best sheepdoggy self, completely focussed on the task at hand - stalking me & the ball. Hopefully, things are now back to normal (or, as normal as they ever are with this pup!) & it will be a very long time before we see a return of Bitey Dog...
