But Spiderhub? A Blue-gray Gnatcatcher prepares a spider for delivery to a hungry fledgling at Lakeland's Circle B.

Apparently, more than 60 varieties of birds eat mulberries and this mulberry tree is providing an endless supply for the species in the area. The local Cedar Waxwings seemed to have found it early on and in their sleek attire have taken the tree by storm.

Hope you don't get tired of berry shots too soon!

I appreciate all visits, comments and inspiration you bring to my stream!

Northern Cardinal with Grub

2024-06-24 8689-CR3-L4T1

Incoming food for the Osprey chick(s) that is in the nest. I believe there are two chicks but need better photo verification.

Not too happy currently with my Canon R7 as my "in-focus" success rate has really dropped off. Seems it has a hard time finding the subject sometimes to focus on. I usually shoot with a mono pod so me getting a little older might have something to do with the slight movement I get while shooting. I did shoot this same nest with a tripod to see if that helps but haven't had the time to do a deep dive into those photos.

Any suggestions from the Canon R7 users out there with their favorite settings would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) ~ Hillsborough County, Florida

Bird World's answer to Grubhub, this Northern Cardinal is on his way with a bountiful beakful of food for some hungry young offspring.

Thanks for visiting!

They wait for the call

Fries fly across the city

Call, rush, munch and yum

Fifteen days after the fact, but who's counting?

Birthday food is good, no matter when I get it. Excellent choice of restaurant, and the ravioli with chicken and pancetta was just what I needed, and the restaurant threw in dessert for free (it was a lemon tart infused with lavender, and didn't stick around long enough for a photograph).

Quality Italian within two miles of the apartment. Another reason to go outside. Can't beat that.

A nor'easter just before the holidays. Food delivery doesn't stop.

The female Peregrine on top, taking the plucked prey bird out of the male's talons with her beak. This male seems like a much better mate than the male of the pair I have been photographing the last couple years.

The original food delivery service – demand is high.

Osprey of the Jersey Shore | 2019

The 2018 Osprey Project in New Jersey:

www.conservewildlifenj.org/downloads/cwnj_853.pdf

Ospreys continue to thrive in New Jersey. Nest surveys conducted by volunteers during the peak of the nestling period (late June-early July) resulted in documenting the outcome of 87% of 589 surveyed nests. We credit the successful work by our dedicated volunteers and faithful “Osprey Watchers” to report on nests all along the coast and major rivers. The goal of this project is to monitor and manage the state population of breeding ospreys to ensure they remain stable in New Jersey. We hope that the work conducted as a part of this project will help protect the species while closely monitoring for any indication of emerging threats.

The Osprey (Pandion haliaetus), sometimes known as the Sea Hawk, Fish Eagle or Fish Hawk, is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey. It is a large Raptor, reaching more than 24 inches in length and a 71 inches wingspan. It is brown on the upper parts and predominantly greyish on the head and under parts, with a black eye patch and wings. In 1994, the osprey was declared the provincial bird of Nova Scotia, Canada.

This stone pier is known as the harbour arm and was built between 1812 and 1815. The lighthouse at the end of the pier was rebuilt in 1955. The Harbour Arm has a bar, cafés and galleries which are open daily during the summer months. At the end of the pier looking out to the Margate seafront is a brass sculpture of a shell lady named ‘Mrs Booth’.

Margate's first Lighthouse was built in 1828 to mark the town's newly built breakwater. The original lighthouse was a round Doric column, similar to the old west pier light at Whitby. It had a square gallery and cylindrical lantern, but this tower became a victim of the Great Storm of 1953. Strong seas pushed the old tower over, leaving it leaning at a precarious angle for several hours, prior to it collapsing, along with a large section at the end of the pier. The storm also destroyed the local pleasure pier.

In 1955, the current octagonal concrete tower was built, topped by a copper lantern housing a fixed red LED light. Unlike the original tower, this new structure was of a much simpler and less grand design. The new lighthouse, which has become one of Margate's most recognizable landmarks is accessible by walking the harbour arm, which is open to the public and free of charge.

Margate is a seaside town in Thanet, Kent, South East England, 15 miles (24.1 km) north-east of Canterbury, which includes Cliftonville, Garlinge, Palm Bay and Westbrook.

Most of the the entire district remained closed and an entire neighborhood was mostly empty, save for a few people here and there, usually near the occasional open restaurant, and mostly photographers or Grubhub bikers.

MrBeast Dream Burger, from MrBeast Burger, a delivery-only virtual restaurant, delivered by GrubHub.

"Double smash patty with American cheese, lettuce, mayo, double pickles & extra bacon, topped with smashed avocado".

I tried this burger after reading about it in the New York Times, which had a much better experience than I did.

The first thing I noticed when I unpacked the food was it was room temperature, like it had been sitting out before delivery.

By double smash patty, I thought they meant only the meat would be smashed, not the entire burger, as you can see in the photo. The patties were described in articles and reviews as "crispy", which apparently means overcooked.

The "extra" about the bacon was extra limp and undercooked, and not the quantity. It was just like pre-cooked bacon. The double pickles, as you can see, are paper thin.

As far as flavor, it didn't have much.

As far as price, it had too much. It cost me $23 for this burger, which was smaller than I expected, and the seasoned fries, which were also meager, and underwhelming.

Rather than going with the usuals (Mission-style burritos, pizza, or a massive salad), I went a little bit in the direction of semi-upscale Italian. After spending most of the day in the ER with sever chect pain (that turned out to not be a heart attack or cardiac distress at all, thankfully), I was ready to take a night off from making any kinds of effort.

No time to make ribs for myself, so just a quickie order through GrubHub. Probably two meals' worth, but it made me happy on a very chilly night.

Find you one who brings pizza . .

How Ospreys transport their meals

Felicity and Quartz enjoying some soldierfly larvae from a composter

These little piggies got decimnated in a happily solitary birthday dinner. Not shown: steamed broccoli and roasted asparagus, both in need of a little sea salt or something.

I really didn't have the patience to try and make everything look good before I dove in headfirst, but there's a certain charm to two sets of obliterated racks of ribs. Perhaps we could say it's some kind of artistic statement on gluttony.

I'll try for nicer pictures when my friends take me out later this week.

Have Lunch at VIVA!

Don’t you think it’s very convenient that GrubHub delivers fine food all about this Resorts World campus. That way your very lovely lady can lay out in the desert sun in her luxury pool cabana and never have to leave the pool to get good food! ☺️

You, on the other hand, do not need to lay around at the pool to work on your sun tan — so you will be expected to do lunch at VIVA in person! 😏
