This is a record shot of a Green Heron, which I saw in Newfoundland this past summer, just hours before I was to return to Nova Scotia. I nearly missed posting it, until My recent scan through photos from this past summer.

Post is in fact two parts. One I dont really like the colour yellow or green and I often try my best not to include these colours in my images.
However a recent visit to fladbury mill, on the River Avon between Pershore and Evesham the other week the lush green vegetation was everywhere and a warm streak of sunlight caught the south westerly windows of the old mill whilst the sun was beginning its descent into the night.
Roll on a couple of weeks since then and the continued warm weather has now turned most of the lush areas around where i live into brown sandy tones, reminiscent of some scorched earth 50's b-movie set not to in the distant future... if you believe the media that is.
Cool water and soothing greens perhaps I like you after all.

Best guess is Cotinis mutabilis, also known as the figeater beetle (also green fruit beetle or fig beetle). It was at least 3.5 cm long. San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment and favoring my images. Enjoy the day.
It started out green and turned a browner color as I walked around it with the camera. It did a little irritated head bobbing but never deployed the dewlap.
I cropped this so you can see the length of the anole including the tail which is more than half the body length.
Green Anole (Anolis Carolinensis). I think.
What a beauty this bird is. Thank you Mr. Honeycreeper for posing for me 🌎
Males are a unique green-blue color with black hood and a banana yellow beak. Female are a brighter, uniform green, with yellow lower bill and grayish legs.

OK so it's not the best 'hare' shot that you'll ever see, but it's the best one that I've ever taken. Lost track of the number of times that I've seen the tail running away from me before I've got the camera ready, so this is it - don't they have lovely eyes! This one was trying very hard to hide from me but he just couldn't get low enough :-) Seconds later he scarpered off.
