I love a red and cream brick building, the Kinning Park and The Barras areas of Glasgow are good places, but this example is on the north side of the Forth and Clyde canal. #redandcream #bricks #brickbuilding #glasgowarchitecture #forthandclydecanal #redbrick
Image incorporating detail from the Mackintosh Building and, in the background, the new Reid Building, Glasgow School of Art.
Background right is a limited view of the installation by Michael Stumpf.

A re-working of a picture I took in 2020, the view hasn’t changed much, it’s just the light is better. 😀📷

Some details of the decoration on the former Co-op buildings in Morrison Street, Glasgow. The level of decoration all round these huge buildings is astonishing. The Clyde Auditorium, commonly known as The Armadillo, is a concert venue in Glasgow. It looks like the Sydney Opera House's wee brother.
A frosty winter's day at the year's end.
Dalkeith Palace (c. 1702) on the site of an earlier castle and the seat of the Montagu Douglas Scott family. The Palace was the creation of Anna Scott, the 1st Duke of Monmouth and Buccleuch’s widow, who employed architect James Smith. Alterations by John Adam (1762) and James Playfair (1786).
"When the Duke of Monmouth died his widow, Anne, asked James Smith to use William of Orange's Palace in Holland as a model for Dalkeith Palace. James Smith completed this large Scottish Country House in 1701-11: it was deemed the grandest of Scottish Classical Houses."

The bottom of Hope Street, Glasgow is a place I pass through quickly, why I hadn’t spotted this beautiful printing press detail on the doorway of the former Daily Record building at 67 Hope Street. Originally J M Smith and Co’s Glasgow Evening News Offices and Printing Works, then the Daily Record until their move to Anderston Quay. The building used to feature a large window looking into the press hall, you could stand there at night and watch the paper being printed. #newspaper #newspapers #newspaperprint #dailyrecord #printingpress #decorativestone #redsandstone #glasgow #glasgowarchitecture #scottisharchitecture #photography #nikon #nikonfz #nikkor

visited on sunday, it was closed.
most prominent external feature is the grass roof, with continious 'ornamental' handrail.
this handrail is of no use, as the resident security guard is employed to prevent access to the roof.
Well done nanny state / powers that be, we do need to be protected from the evils of gravity.
perhaps the roof is 'one of those' features for viewing, rather than enjoying......?
