Ghost sign ‘Dress U Up’ Finnieston, Glasgow. I posted a version of this the other week, partly hidden by hoardings, back today and ya beauty!, the whole shop is exposed, lots of guys working on it. As well as the theatrical costume and make up, it’s been a butchers at one point, with the New Zealand Lamb tilework on the wall. The design inspiration is said to be from "interlocking ships hulls". This can clearly be seen from this angle.
It is popularly known as The Armadillo, in reference to a fancied similarity in appearance between the building and that animal, when seen from other view points.

In normal circumstances it would be pretty impossible to get a building by Mackintosh and one by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the same shot Here thanks to the wonders of light and reflection we can see together the gothic spire of Glagow University designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott and Mackintosh's finial for Pettigrew and Stephen's department store (which is situated in the sculpture court of the Hunterian Art Gallery).
