From Sunday evening through Thursday morning this past week, we were happy to be where the views were nice (water too cold to enjoy!) and the meals were easy to get and gaming was always available, for those who enjoy gambling.

One of the main reasons I started Flickr, besides fellow Aviation photographer Jeremy Lindgren telling me for months that I should, is this photo here and the story behind it.
I took this October 13th 2008 near my house in Grafton MA. While pulling out of the driveway in the car to head out on a camping trip, I spotted this hot air balloon coming down near Lake Ripple (see all the Ripples? lol) across from my house. I didn't have my Rebel DSLR with me, it was someplace in my house, but I had my old Sony digital P&S with me in my back pocket. I ran about 150' over to the clearing, so I can see what was going on, and this ballon did a touch and go on the lake and departed. It really happened that fast, quicker than it looks! The photo give the impression that he was parked there hovering or prepositioned, but it all happened very fast! All I could manage were a few snaps with the old Sony, silently wishing that I had packed my DSLR in the car as well! Hence the IQ is not very good (the lesson...always carry the SLR, even when it's heavy)!
About a year later (approximately October 2009) I noticed that the small local paper, the Grafton News, was requesting people send in their interesting Fall Foliage photos to their website. I sent this one in, and unbeknownst to me, they also put it on their Photostream here on Flickr (giving me photo credit of course).
It sat on their Flickr photostream for about 1 year (I didn't even know what a photostream was) until the editor at the Grafton News got an email from New York Newsday, looking to buy the limited rights to this photo for the front page of their travel section called go! The Grafton News, emailed me with the good news and request from Newsday and it made it to the front page of the go! section on 09/12/10!
When I found out that Newsday discovered this photo from a website called Flickr, which I had only been to once or twice to see some of Jeremy's work, I knew I had to sign up and start my very own account!
These days, I don't do Flickr in the hopes of scoring another front page newspaper photo, I do it for the great people I have met on here, and the knowledge and experience I have learned from looking at my contact's photos and exchanging tips from them and getting and receiving feedback. So to you guy's and gal's out in Flickr land, a very big thank you!
First of all, thanks for all your tags:)
Last years it was hard to me to choose a favourite 5, because I bought many dolls, but this year is much easier. I buy less, but for much more money;) Here's my choices (in order of appearance):
1.Sierra (Barbie Collector University of Alabama)
The cutest Barbie doll I've ever seen. She's my first one with Skipper mold and I will adore her no matter which new girl comes to my collection.
2.JT (Barbie Ken Collector Texas A&M University)
My second Ken from this line, I love everything about him except of his clothes, because they're useless now. Anyway, he's one of the most handsome Kens for me and his hair is amazing!
3.Alex (Barbie Rebelde Lupita)
The first Barbie doll with dark hair that I really like. She's so beautiful and natural and she looks so good on photos!
4.Peeta (Barbie Collector The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Peeta Mellark)
Two months ago he was just an interesting Ken doll for me. Now, when I'm in love with the Hunger Games series, I just can't take my eyes off him. I love Peeta in the books, in the movies and as a doll and in my opinion Mattel did a wonderful job creating him so similar to the real one. Thank you Mattel!
5.Ellie (Barbie Skipper Fashion Fever 2006)
The last but so cute! She's a doll that you have to get and when you've got her in your collection she's just a special one. Lovely face, beautiful eyes, natural makeup and nice clothes. Only the price wasn't good, but who cares;)
Arabian Horse: *Morafic* Morafic (1956 - 1974)
(& all his progeny- Al Metrabbi, Ansata horses, TheEgyptianPrince, etc.!!)
Imported in 1965 by Douglas and Margaret Marshall, Gleannloch Farms
Foal crops 1960 to 1966 in Egypt, 1967 to 1975 in the US
quote from Douglas & Margaret Marshall:
"As one of the most eminent sons of Nazeer*, and who's get and grandget have carried his name into innumerable championships, *Morafic's place in history of the breed is certain. For nine years in Egypt and another nine at Gleannloch Farms (FYI: The old Gleannloch Farms in my area near this statue was sold to a developer & now has been turned into an upscale neighborhood). Tragically, in 1974 the Marshalls lost the fabled *Morafic at the age of 18. He left the world having sired 151 purebred foals stateside and another 58 in Egypt. He remains the leading imported Egyptian sire of National winners and the all-time leading Egyptian sire of National winner producers. *Morafic sired foals inbred with their father's most beloved qualities: spirit, refinement and a presence that captivated all who saw him. *Morafic sons and daughters have won seven National Championships, seven Reserve National Championships, 29 national Top Tens, six National Futurity Championships and 30 get-of-sire championships."

This pair of delicate Damselflies was part way through mating. The sun was rather bright on their wings and bodies, but I think I like the colourful bokeh even more than the insects.
"Damselflies, like all odonates, have a very interesting breeding system. Before they actually copulate, males and females of many groups spend some considerable time in physical contact with one another, presumably in an effort to assess their potential mate. (In my photo above), a male Damselfy is holding a female Damselfy. This physical contact is made by the male clasping the female's thorax with the four terminal appendages on the end of his abdomen." On 7 August 2015, four of us were extremely fortunate to have the chance to visit the home and highly varied topographic 62-acre property belonging to Frances and David Dover. We felt honoured and privileged to meet and spend time with Frances and David, and also their daughter Carolyn and her husband Clair. A delightful family who welcomed us so warmly into their home and land.
This acreage of grassland, forest, rolling hills - and special gardens - is not far from Millarville, SW of Calgary. In fact, it's in an area that I often drive through when I only have time for, or only feel like doing, a short drive. Amazing what little gems exist out there.
This is not just a beautiful property, but is very special for various reasons. For one thing, read any history of Alberta and you will find the Dover family, including David's mother, Mary Dover. Second, among the trees and open "lawns", there are Peony flower beds, containing 100-150 heritage Peonies, each one different, that have now multiplied to more than 300 plants. Unfortunately, they bloomed a couple of weeks early this year, and all the flowers had gone to seed. Another open area had a different kind of ground cover - Thyme, which smelled wonderful. If I remember correctly, this was the open space where the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra performed on one occasion!
There are two large ponds on the property and another smaller area of water that they hope to turn into a Japanese Garden. There is a total of seven wetland basins, including these. It was while walking around the Japanese Garden that a large brown 'shape' could just be seen through the dense trees - a handsome Moose buck. I will look properly at the four or so photos I just managed to get and may slip one of them into my photostream sometime soon, just for the record, definitely not for the photo quality : ) This was also where a Great Horned Owl was seen flying through the trees by some of us (not me, ha!).
There are grassy paths winding through the acreage, up and down hill, that take David seven hours to mow. They are not pristine, velvety paths, but instead, they seem to take nothing away from the wildness of the whole area. One of the animals that have passed through is the Cougar. In fact, several years ago, I saw a video taken on a nearby (or adjacent?) property, where a 'kill' and night-time camera had been set up and a total of six different Cougar individuals were seen!
Even the Dover's home is unique and beautiful. It is completely built of concrete (and glass) - floors, walls, ceilings, roof, deck, and so on. A Hummingbird feeder and regular bird feeders, set up on the patio, attract a variety of birds. We sat on the patio after our walk to eat our packed lunches - and to enjoy a delicious Orange Pound Cake that Frances had made for us, along with refreshing Iced Tea - thank you so much for going to this trouble, Frances! While I was waiting for one of three tiny Calliope (?) Hummingbirds to come back, I was lucky enough to see a little Mountain Chickadee, along with many Pine Siskins. We could also hear a Red-tailed Hawk in the area. Saw a total of 22 bird species this day.
There is just so much I could write about this visit and family. Instead, or for now, I will add several links to more information on the Internet. This was a memorable day for us. Thank you so much, Frances and David, Carolyn and Clair, for being so kind and welcoming us into your home and gardens.

David's mother, Mary Dover (her father was A. E. Cross), was "a dynamic and distinguished Calgarian, particularly known for her work with the military during World War II." As well as being an army officer, and an alderman, she was also a preservationist. See the following link.

Seeing standard cab EMD's on a mainline run is getting harder with every passing day. I'll gladly take what I can get, and these two provided a good sound and smoke show as they accelerate a local away from Lenox tower.
This shot was for a weekly G+ hangout. The subject was to shoot some type of food. Individual Cheese Cakes. What could be better?
I hope you enjoy this post. If you like what you see the greatest compliment you could give me is to share this with others. I appreciate all the feedback, comments and 'likes' I get and read and respond to every one of them.

7000 series aluminum. Civia discontinued the complete Linden last year. We bought up all the framesets we could get and now offer the Linden as a custom build.
Italians being, well, Italian we couldn't let well enough alone. Like Baroque paintings where the religious topic is sometimes lost in a sea of secondary figures the same thing happened to the crèche. Add sone sheep and shepherds, the Magi and their attendants din't forget the townspeople and the other scenic additions and this is what you get and it's wonderful.

Another shot from last night's session. I was experimenting with TTL flash here and it seemed to give me ok results. Later on in the session I didn't like what I was getting and went back to manual. I found it just as easy to modify my power/aperture/shutter on the fly and also have greater control over the overall exposure.

The single-arch, red-brick road bridge on Chapel Street, over Slaughter Yard Creek, Ravenswood, was most likely constructed by the Ravenswood Divisional Board circa 1895 - 1900, to replace an earlier timber bridge and improve access between Ravenswood and the gold mines at Sandy Creek (and their associated town of Evlinton), located almost 4km southeast of Ravenswood. The Chapel Street Bridge is important in illustrating the importance of mining to the economy of Ravenswood during the 1890s. It is also rare as the only known example of an early brick-arch road bridge in Queensland.
Ravenswood, part of the traditional land of the Birriah people, is located about 85km south of Townsville and 65km east of Charters Towers. The Ravenswood goldfield, which included the John Bull reef near Sandy Creek, was the fifth largest producer of gold in Queensland during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
European settlement of the Kennedy Land District in north Queensland commenced with the founding of Bowen in 1861, and the spread of pastoralists through the hinterland. Pastoral stations were established up the valley of the Burdekin River, including ‘Ravenswood’ and ‘Merri Merriwa’. Alluvial gold was discovered in tributaries of Connolly Creek, on Merri Merriwa Station, in late 1868; and in April 1869, the goldfield’s richest alluvial discoveries occurred in three dry creek beds close to the site of Ravenswood. The parent reefs of this alluvial gold were soon located, but a lack of water meant that miners did not establish Ravenswood (initially called ‘Upper Camp’) until October 1869, after a storm temporarily resolved the water issue. The first machinery for crushing quartz ore to extract gold was operational at Burnt Point (south of Upper Camp) from the 18th of April 1870.
The Ravenswood goldfield (about 300 square miles) was proclaimed on the 3rd of November 1870, and the town of Ravenswood was proclaimed on the 19th of May 1871. In 1871, the population of the goldfield was 900, with over half being in Ravenswood. The town developed on either side of Elphinstone Creek, and the first permanent bridge over the creek was constructed, of timber, in 1873.
Despite its promising start, in 1872 the Ravenswood goldfield entered a ‘period of depression’, as its most important mines reached the water table, and difficult to process ‘mundic’ ore, at about 70ft (21m) deep. Although only a percentage of the gold was recoverable from the mundic ore with the technology available at the time, Ravenswood’s mines continued to be viable into the 1880s.
There was an increase in productivity in the mid-1880s, due to good returns from the mines on the John Bull reef, located on the east bank of Sandy Creek, almost 4km southeast of Ravenswood. The Chapel Street Bridge is a product of the success of the John Bull reef, and the resulting need for a road link between Ravenswood and Sandy Creek.
Work on the John Bull reef, just south of the later site of the town of Evlinton (initially known as Sandy Creek), had occurred from 1879 – and by October that year crushings from a stamper battery on the John Bull were being carted into Ravenswood. The John Bull Gold Mining Company Ltd (formed in 1881), worked the John Bull PC lease on the reef, while the John Bull Block lease, to the south, was worked by Hugh Hawthorne Barton and Andrew Trenfield by July 1882. A 15-stamp battery was erected on the John Bull Block in 1883, when it was reported that ‘Sandy Creek bids fair to become a very busy little place at no distant date’. Although the John Bull’s ore was low quality, the reef was large, and it continued to produce well during 1884 – the year that the railway reached Ravenswood from Ravenswood Junction on the Northern Railway.
By 1886, the settlement at Sandy Creek was called ‘Evlinton’, and was part of a mail route. Although Sandy Creek Provisional School, established in 1885, was renamed Evlinton Provisional School in 1886, the town of Evlinton was not surveyed until early 1890.
A timber bridge was extant over Slaughter Yard Creek on Chapel Street, on the road between Ravenswood and Evlinton, by 1887. This bridge was the scene of a fatal accident in August 1887, when Joseph Lane, a miner working at the John Bull Block, fell off his horse when it slipped on the bridge while he was riding into Ravenswood. The Ravenswood Divisional Board is likely to have built the bridge, as after the Divisional Boards Act 1879, responsibility for local roads passed from Queensland’s Department of Public Works to local governments – although the State Government still provided grants and loans.
The John Bull reef remained one of the best producers on the Ravenswood goldfield from the mid-1880s to the early 1890s. By October 1887, the John Bull Block was ’held to the extent of three-fourths by Messrs. Kyle Sidley and Andrew Trenfield’; and in 1891, it was reported that the John Bull Block mine and mill employed 60 hands. ‘Although they put through a low-grade ore, the size of the reef and the great number of tons passing under their stampers (twenty head) give a live and busy appearance to their little township of Evlinton’.
The Ravenswood Divisional Board attempted to replace the timber Chapel Street Bridge in 1888. It sought a grant of £1000, to build bridges over the One Mile Creek (on the main road to Ravenswood Junction), and ‘over the crossing on the road to Sandy Creek, at which place there is a considerable amount of heavy traffic’. However, no grant appears to have eventuated at this time, as the government preferred that the Divisional Board borrow the money.
The bridge’s replacement was delayed when Evlinton’s prosperity was interrupted in the early 1890s. The John Bull Block had already extracted the best quality ore, and had continued issues with water ingress. This led to a stoppage of work in 1892, which ‘caused an almost total desertion of the little township there (Evlinton), and a shifting of dwellings in here and elsewhere’. The Ravenswood goldfield’s production in 1893 was its lowest since 1886.
A revival in the fortunes of Evlinton and the John Bull reef occurred from 1894, when Sidley and Trenfield sold their mines and the Saint George (20 head) battery to Archibald L Wilson (1852 - 1935). Wilson had arrived in Ravenswood in 1878, after gaining a diploma in mining engineering in Edinburgh, and working in New Zealand and on the Palmer River. He was publican of the Silver King Hotel in Totley in the 1880s. At the end of 1893, Wilson travelled to London to float the John Bull property, and his syndicate purchased the John Bull mines, with himself as general manager, in April 1894. Digging of a new vertical shaft commenced in late 1894.
Gold bearing ore was struck in October 1895, at 626ft (191m) depth, and by 1896 the John Bull was considered the ‘chief mine’ on the Ravenswood goldfield. Although the ore was low grade, and there were ‘oceans of water’ to pump out, Wilson had set up a cyaniding plant nearby, to treat tailings as soon as they had been crushed. He extracted 1800oz of gold from 5000 tons of ore during 1896; and supplying the 20 stamper battery with cordwood required ‘quite a little colony’ of timber-getters and carters. ‘Sandy Creek (Evlinton), with two public-houses, boarding houses, school, and its mill at work, presented quite a lively appearance, particularly on “pay night”’.
The recovery of Evlinton in the late 1890s led to the construction of the current brick bridge on Chapel Street, between 1895 and 1900. In May 1895, the Ravenswood Divisional Board asked for a £500 grant to repair several roads and their bridges, including the road from Ravenswood to Evlinton. ‘These are all main roads and lead to thriving mining centres, particularly the Evlinton and Old [?] roads, where there are several large gold mines being developed…. All the roads and bridges thereon…are almost untrafficable, particularly in bad weather’. The expenditure statement of the Division of Ravenswood for the second half of 1895 refers to a £25 18s and 8p contract for a wall on ‘Slaughter-yard Gully’, while the statement for the first half of 1896 lists a ‘retaining wall at Slaughter-yard Gully Bridge’, for £25 18s and 9p, deducted from the ‘Main Roads Grant Account’. Later, £48 is deducted, for a bridge, from the ‘John Bull and Standard Road Account’ during the second half of 1900.
Constructed of red brick, the Chapel Street Bridge has a semi-circular arch and low-height solid spandrels (side walls, north and south) with render-capped coping. Postholes formed in the coping suggest the bridge originally had a balustrade. The angled abutment wing walls on the upstream (south) side were designed to channel water flow during times of flood and, along with the stone retaining walls on the upstream (north) side, help stabilise the abutment embankments and roadway approaches (east and west).
The Chapel Street Bridge is a rare Queensland example of a brick-arch road bridge, where historically, due to an abundance of hardwood timber for bridge piers and decking, the preference has been for girder and truss types of timber, steel, or concrete construction – although early pipe culverts used brick, and some bridges used bricks for abutments or retaining walls. Brick was also used in Queensland for railway bridge abutments and piers, retaining walls, and culverts. Early examples of brick culverts are found on the 1860s Main Range Railway (1865 - 1867). One example of a masonry road bridge in Queensland is a 1865 bridge at Dalrymple Gap on the Valley of Lagoons Rd, which consists of stone retaining walls inset with a circular brick culvert. A 1930s arched road bridge across Little Crystal Creek at Mount Spec is faced in stone, but is actually concrete. Comparatively more common in the southern states of Australia, masonry arch bridges rely on their curved arch rib and end supports for stability, and characteristically have solid spandrels.
The bricks for the Chapel Street Bridge may have been locally manufactured, although quality bricks were available from Townsville, particularly after the railway reached Ravenswood in 1884. Most buildings in 19th century Ravenswood were constructed of timber, but bricks were used for mining infrastructure such as chimneys, flues, furnaces, and engine mounts – so skilled bricklayers would have been available on the goldfield. At least one brick chimney existed by 1880, while a 56ft (17m) brick chimney was present at HH Barton’s chlorination works in 1888. During 1891 - 1892, the contractor Robert Mann locally constructed the bricks for, and erected, a 90ft (27m) brick chimney and furnaces, for the Australasian Gold Extracting Company (New England lease). Later, a block of timber commercial buildings in Ravenswood, lost in a disastrous fire in April 1901, was rebuilt using bricks, suggesting confident expectations of permanence for Ravenswood.
However, the revival of nearby Evlinton in the late 1890s was a short-term phenomenon. Although Wilson was able to wring enough return from cyaniding the ore to pay the John Bull’s operating expenses, there was insufficient capital for development work. Wilson left for London in 1898 to seek investors for other mines, and although the John Bull Block mine had a record weekly crush of 298oz of gold from 198 tons of ore in 1899, the John Bull mines closed in January 1901.
Evlinton vanished after the closure of the John Bull mines, although the town did not die immediately. A social and dance was held at Evlinton State School in 1916, in aid of Ravenswood Red Cross Society, when people from Ravenswood travelled ‘by motorcar, buggy etc’ to the function; and the school was also used as a polling place for elections, prior to its closure in 1921.
Although the John Bull mines at Sandy Creek had closed, Ravenswood entered a new period of prosperity from 1900, thanks to Wilson. While in London, in 1899 he had floated both the Donnybrook Blocks Mining Syndicate and the New Ravenswood Company. Using British capital, Wilson introduced modern machinery to work the main Ravenswood mines and the New Ravenswood Company effectively reshaped Ravenswood’s landscape. Wilson was known as ‘the uncrowned king of Ravenswood’.
The early 20th century revival at Ravenswood ended in 1917, after declining yields, increased costs, and industrial disputes. On the 24th of March 1917 the New Ravenswood Company ceased operations, ending large-scale mining in Ravenswood for the next 70 years. Up to 1917, Ravenswood was the fifth largest gold producer in Queensland, after Charters Towers, Mount Morgan, Gympie, and the Palmer goldfield. Ravenswood was also the second largest producer of reef gold in north Queensland, after Charters Towers.
After 1917 the Ravenswood goldfield entered a period of hibernation, with intermittent small-scale attempts at mining until the 1960s. During the 1920s, prior to the closure of the railway branch line to Ravenswood in 1930, hundreds of the town’s timber buildings were dismantled and railed away; and by 1934 only 357 people remained in Ravenswood. In the 1960 and 1970s, Ravenswood’s population shrank to its nadir of about 70 people. However, gold mining recommenced at Ravenswood in the 1980s, due to a rise in the gold price and the efficiencies gained from open cut mining and modern cyanide metallurgical extraction processes.
The Chapel Street Bridge was closed to traffic in the 1980s, but it survives as a physical reminder that the mines at Sandy Creek, once accessed via the road that crossed the bridge, were important to Ravenswood’s economy. In 2019, modern metal road guards block access to the bridge, which is located almost 300m north of the northern rim of Carpentaria Gold’s Sarsfield pit.

Translation Please. Message in the garden and I don't have the necessary skill to get and appreciate it's meaning. I do appreciate it's art though but left with needing more. Intrigue or curious?
I cant beleive it yet but yes I bought an SD doll. I was afraid that they will be too big. But when I saw this girl I fall in love immediately. She is a Peakswood Goldie.
So it is like a dream come true. I got her with Layaway so she wont be here soon but still I am so happy!
These are the things she will get and a sneak peek of how she will look when she is finished.
This time I got the doll without face up because I want to style her myself.
I am also saving money to get 2 more msds.(secret :3)
I am so addicted to this hobby now!!!
I also developed Chloe character a little more so I will say more about her soon.
Pictures arent by me but from the companies.
I changed her to dlight normal skin in the end since I like her more and she is limited.

Log Entry, Day 55:
Today was interesting, to say the least. I haven't been able to make any entries the last couple days because I've been cornered in dollar store. The Trans Am I had hot wired ended up wrapped around a telephone pole when one of the walkers stumbled out in the street. I thought it might have been a survivor, but a second inspection after I was out of the wreck showed only the same broken shamble, blood frothing mouth, and lifeless eyes that are so common here.
A single shot to the head destroyed it, but the sound brought a horde of at least 40 of them from a nearby stadium... not sure what they were doing there, but I'll never forget them clamoring over the turnstile one after the other... coming towards me unrelentingly even as I dropped at least half of them. It was by far the biggest group of them I've encountered since I've left. The machine pistols I was supplied with worked very effectively... until I ran out of magazines. All I had left was a snubnose .38 I found in the glove box of the car. I was able to make it inside the dollar store and barricade the doors, but there was over 20 left, and I had no where to go. The last few days I've been aimlessly exercising, reading magazines in what daylight I get, and living off what cheap packaged food isn't rotten. The moans of the infected are absolutely maddening, so a few hours in I plugged my ears with some cotton I found.
Even with that, the explosion that shook the entire building on the third day still made me half deaf. The entire front half of the building was obliterated, and glass and chunks of concrete littered the floor. I heard some long bursts of automatic gunfire, then silence. Squinting through the dust that had been stirred up, I saw a tall figure step in. He wore mirrored aviators, a shirt with the sleeves cut off, what I believe is a Vietnam-era magazine pouch, cowboy boots and a genuine ten-gallon hat. He carried what at some point in time was an M4 carbine, but now was bastardized almost beyond recognition.
“Howdy, I'm Dex. You got any smokes?”

Tough day yesterday, in some ways. Jan was invited to visit a school... but not just any school. These kids and their families all live and work at the rubbish dump. This is about as low as it can get and still be functional, and it messes with the way my western head functions...
But in the end we all had lots of fun, and made new friends, and these kids are awesome. Expect some more on this. We can't just leave it like this.
I cannot figure out a way for the photos to tell this story with the depth it needs... but here's a text example. When we walked from the classroom (A disused corner in a used furniture store) back to where the kids live (jump down and cross four lanes of traffic, and then walk down into the centre of the dump where huts, shacks and the occasional building can be found) we were warned. No photos of the kids outside. Why? Because their parents would be worried that we were involved in the human traffic trade. That we would be harvesting these kids! :-(

Fractals taught me that the 5th dimension is scale...the model of how long is the British Coast depended on how curved the measuring stick could get, and by the time you got down to sand grains the coast was infinitely long by conventional measurement methods...if that all sounds to weird, sorry.

BR23-001-L Engine with tender.
One of my latest project was the 7-wide BR23-001-L created by Reinhard Ben Beneke in 2005. The tender will be motorized by power functions but still has to be redeveloped. I will upload new pictures of the power functions tender as soon it is ready. Some parts were very difficult to get, like the drive shafts on the wheels of the locomotive. The light gray bar should be dark gray but I still did not find it. The sides on the wheels of the tender were very hard to get and the gray 7 long axles should be black. However I found the old red buffer which look really nice. Even the two studs plates for the door hinges were not easy to get but I found them after all. The model has some nice building techniques and it was a lot of fun for me to build this project. But that's logic it's Lego !
I hope you all like the result so far.
The German Class 23 (Baureihe 23 or BR 23) engines of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DRG) were standard steam engines that were conceived as a replacement for the Prussian P 8 by the Schichau Works. They were given the same boiler as the Class 50s which were developed in parallel and, like them, the newly developed 2'2' T 26 tender with its front wall that protected train crews during reverse running.
In 1941 the two prototypes were built and delivered. The procurement of 800 locomotives had been planned, however the constraints of the Second World War meant that they never entered full production.
After the war the two locomotives, with operating numbers 23 001 and 23 002, went to the DR in East Germany and were variously stabled in Berlin, Brandenburg an der Havel, Jüterbog and Halle. In 1961, number 23 001 was given a Reko boiler with combustion chamber, developed for the Class 50. In 1970 the locomotive was given EDP number 35 2001-2. Number 23 002 was to be reconstructed, but was retired however in 1967 due to damage to the frame and scrapped. Number 23 001 was scrapped in 1975 in Cottbus, as it could no longer serve any useful purpose.
After the war, the design of these Class 02 locomotives formed the basis for the new DB Class 23 and DR Class 23.10 locomotives which received the same class designation.

A rather exclusive edition of a rather great game. The great thing about this game's rules is that they're dead simple - each turn, you play a card, do what it says, then draw until you have five cards in hand if you have less than five cards in hand.
But, of course, nothing is ever that simple with good board games, and so the cards might tell you that you can play another card, or draw cards, or get cards from others, or give them cards, and then you can get and steal and give money, and build houses that give you bonuses, and place minions and assassinate enemy minions. And it's all placed neatly in the Discworld of the late Terry Pratchett - one of my favorite authors.
I looked it up, the last board game image in the #project365 was back in November. It was about time you got another one 😁
