Along Av. Francisco Labastida Ochoa, the lower level of a single-family home serves as a little seafood eatery, with counter seating only! Topolobampo is as laid back as it gets, and even more so on a Sunday!

This quote (or something very similar to it) comes from the James Bond Octopussy movie. I heard it and knew I would think up another stupid/crazy/weird SP to do....This one took about 15 shots to get and only the ones on my eyelids kinda hurt....Don't try ever putting one on your nose - Oooouch :)
SB-600 bounced off a silver umbrella.....Slightly off center to camera left, 1/4th. power fired via Cactus Trigger.
ugh i'm mad.
so there was like 1000 butterflies. and this one came and stopped right beside me.
my camera was not focusing properly, so this was the only photo i could get.
and then since the focus on my 50mm lens is so loud it scared it away :(
Nutrition is the fundamental part of a healthy lifestyle. As much as we all would like to become healthier, do we know how to go about doing so? Becoming healthy is not as difficult as you may think. By using this advice, you will soon become a healthier, happier you.
At first, most people have a hard time stepping away from fast foods and processed snack foods. When you eat junk food, it becomes an addiction because it is easy to get and tasty. It can be hard to resist these cravings long after the foods have been eliminated from your diet. Make sure you are snacking on healthier alternatives, like nuts or fresh fruit.
People need to realize that highly milled grains are not as nutritious as their natural counterparts. The hull or husk of the grains is taken out, eliminating the majority of fiber and nutrients. Eating unprocessed grains can save you money on costly fiber supplements, and provide you a nutritional boost as well. No. This does not make any sense when you could get your nutrients from eating the whole grains.
Make sure you eat salmon with regularity. Salmon has a lot of both niacin and omega-3's. These fatty acids are known to lower the danger of multiple ailments such as heart disease, cancer and depression, and niacin may ward off Alzheimer's disease. For a more organic choice, go with wild salmon over salmon that are farmed.
Try always to encourage more drinking of water throughout the day. Milk and juice are fine once in a while, but always offer water as an alternative. If your kids drink milk and juice all day, they might be hungry at dinner time.
When you are trying to add more fruits and veggies to your diet, consider trying fruit juices. This can be a great, time saving solution for people that don't have the time to prepare raw veggies and fruit. Juices will provide your body with a wide range of minerals and vitamins. Fruit juice that does not contain processed sugar or high-fructose corn syrup will not cause tooth decay, but it's still a good idea to use a straw, and rinse your mouth with water after drinking fruit juice. This helps protect your teeth.
When eating meals, pace yourself. Many people are often very busy and consequently, get in the habit of eating quickly. Rather than eating quickly, go slow. Enjoy the aromas and taste of your food. Also, this will reduce the cravings that you have for more food. It also helps in preventing you from overeating.
Anyone can lead a healthy lifestyle. Quality nutrition is the key to feeling healthy what you eat will predict the way you feel. If you take the things in this article to heart, you will enjoy life more. virgincoconutoilmalaysia.com/
I've always daydreamed about turning 90 degrees and running off across the runway (or just generally about 'airside').
I wonder how far I'd get? ...and for how long?
this couch (or IKEA AIVAK SOFA) is about as comfortable as they get, and pulls out as a bed. ping me if you live in SF, are interested, and can haul it out of here. otherwise, it is going on craigslist soon.
This shows the iFloor soccer effect projected on a projection plate. Also shows how big the projection can get and still contain its interactivity.
An assortment of variegated orchids. Many of which I'm dividing for sale. Variegated orchids are about as rare as it gets, and are one of my passions. I grow all of my orchids in Aliflor, and all but the Cattleya get a top dressing of sphagnum to buffer moisture levels.
This is NOT my main photo posted this morning! It is the second photo - the Tree Swallow close-up is supposed to be my MAIN image, but Flickr seems to be messing up again the past week.
In the morning of 25 September 2015, six of us were lucky enough to explore a tiny part of the land belonging to Frances and David Dover. For two of us (myself and our leader), this was our second visit - for the rest, it was a first time there. This photo was taken looking across the large pond on the Dovers' property.
I will copy and paste the description I posted on Flickr from our first visit to the Dover's acreage, on 7 August 2015 (to jog my own memory!):
"Yesterday, 7 August 2015, four of us were extremely fortunate to have the chance to visit the home and highly varied topographic 62-acre property belonging to Frances and David Dover. We felt honoured and privileged to meet and spend time with Frances and David, and also their daughter Carolyn and her husband Clair. A delightful family who welcomed us so warmly into their home and land.
This acreage of grassland, forest, rolling hills - and special gardens - is not far from Millarville, SW of Calgary. In fact, it's in an area that I often drive through when I only have time for, or only feel like doing, a short drive. Amazing what little gems exist out there.
This is not just a beautiful property, but is very special for various reasons. For one thing, read any history of Alberta and you will find the Dover family, including David's mother, Mary Dover. Second, among the trees and open "lawns", there are Peony flower beds, containing 100-150 heritage Peonies, each one different, that have now multiplied to more than 300 plants. Unfortunately, they bloomed a couple of weeks early this year, and all the flowers had gone to seed. Another open area had a different kind of ground cover - Thyme, which smelled wonderful. If I remember correctly, this was the open space where the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra performed on one occasion!
There are two large ponds on the property and another smaller area of water that they hope to turn into a Japanese Garden. It was while walking around the latter that a large brown 'shape' could be seen through the dense trees - a handsome Moose buck. I will look properly at the four or so photos I just managed to get and will slip one of them into my photostream sometime soon, just for the record, definitely not for the photo quality : ) This was also where a Great Horned Owl was seen flying through the trees by some of us (not me, ha!).
There are grassy paths winding through the acreage, up and down hill, that take David seven hours to mow. They are not pristine, velvety paths, but instead, they seem to take nothing away from the wildness of the whole area. One of the animals that have passed through is the Cougar. In fact, several years ago, I saw a video taken on a nearby (or adjacent?) property, where a 'kill' and night-time camera had been set up and a total of six different Cougar individuals were seen!
Even the Dover's home is unique and beautiful. It is completely built of concrete - floors, walls, ceilings, roof, deck, and so on. A Hummingbird feeder and regular bird feeders, set up on the patio, attract a variety of birds. We sat on the patio after our walk to eat our packed lunches - and to enjoy a delicious Orange Pound Cake that Frances had made for us, along with refreshing Iced Tea - thank you so much for this, Frances! Yesterday, while I was waiting for one of three tiny Calliope Hummingbirds to come back, I was lucky enough to see a little Mountain Chickadee, along with many Pine Siskins. We could also hear a Red-tailed Hawk in the area.
There is just so much I could write about this visit and family. Instead, or for now, I will add several links to more information on the Internet. This was a memorable day for us. Thank you so much, Frances and David, Carolyn and Clair, for being so kind and welcoming us into your home and gardens.

David's mother, Mary Dover (her father was A. E. Cross), was "a dynamic and distinguished Calgarian, particularly known for her work with the military during World War II." As well as being an army officer, and an alderman, she was also a preservationist. See the following link.

After our visit to the Dover's on 25 September 2015, I decided to drive eastwards along a road that I'd never driven before, until I reached the main road going south. From there, it was a fairly short drive to the Saskatoon Farm. As usual, I wandered round the grounds with my camera and then, when I was ready to leave, I ordered a pizza to take home with me. The inside of the gift shop has recently been renovated and they now have a pizza oven and area.
I used the hypnotic and overlay effect to see what I'd get and this is it. I still wanted the original butterfly to be in the picture so that's where the overlay came in, and it's in the center.
Except, this is Alabama. And it's rainy here too, stormy in fact. The tornado warning siren went off a few hours ago when a strong cold front came through.
Anyway, just for the heck of it, thought I'd take and post a photo. How novel it seems ... when one's camera has been gathering cobwebs for a month or so. And, I've gotten a question or two such as "is your camera broken?" "Are you OK?" and so on. To which I answer, yup, just busy.
"The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;"
Right, so it seems to go at times. But then, maybe an occasional change of pace or direction is good too. I have had an itchy finger a few times though, when a fine photo opp was laid out right in front of my nose, but no camera within reach. When the Busyness Time has passed, hopefully I'll find that it's been good for recharging my visual batteries. Even if it has been hard on the batteries that keep me going, turning the particular crank that I've been tied to in recent weeks.
OK, let's see now ... how do I upload again?

Dear Second Life,
See what you do to me? ... not fair. You never play fair.
Always pulling the rug from underneath me feet and making me go do something crazy.
My insanity level just went up a notch when out of the blue, I decided to just take
a few shots of myself while visiting the Designers United 5 event (ending October 4).
Couldn't help myself, right there and then, I put together the most outrageous clothes assembled
by picking a thing from here and there and the result?... this what you see now.
I was actually planning on taking beautiful shots wearing my new Maitreya * Hera Dress and slits, which by the way,
they seem to be one of the most popular items in this year's event,
but found myself wearing every item I was getting, and so I said, "Why not?!"
I climbed to the very top of the pile of chairs from 7 and just started clicking the button. I ended up with a pile
of silly photos wearing more items in some more than in others. I had to reduce it to the three best ones
so not to burn your eyes with the mess I really was. You should have seen me, walking around wearing multiple items and demos
and standing next to people just for kicks.
It is fine to just go crazy sometimes and have some fun. I am really never afraid to make a fool of myself
if that can produce some laughter, laughter is good... really good ;)
Laughter keeps us young
and being foolish helps us forget how life can be a little hard sometimes.
and as they say ....
LAUGH
Make a FOOL of yourself
and then LAUGH some more!
Oh no wait, that's not how it goes :P
Forever Yours,
Lori Novo

I’ve been working in the tasting room at Tolosa Winery for the last few weekends—a pretty sweet second job—every penny counts when saving for the D800! Here’s one I did for our upcoming newsletter. These 3 seasonal wines are incredible. You should check out the Tolosa Wine Club (smokin’ deals that only get better the longer you’re a member): www.tolosawinery.com/wines/
This was as simple a shot as it gets and I always prefer natural light with food and wine projects but I recently started shooting product shots in the studio for wine bottles… ummm WOW what a chore!!

(Really, don't read too much into this photo and the quotes, it was
more conceptual than personal at the moment. :-))
Lisel + Co. Every day skirt, size small, in Kaufman chambray.
My first adult sized garment ever! I wasn't sure about how flattering the gathers would be but I think it looks quite nice actually.
I've learned to definitely not ask my husband to help me photograph in the future. I got choose between having no head or having the skirt cut off. Oh well. as my three year old says: " you get what you get and you don't get upset"
This was as close as I could legally get and with children there I didnt want to push my luck. 2 8-Inch 30 cal guns taken from the USS Boston. I would say that falls into the "Big Gun (maybe even very big)" category.
This is one of the more beautiful creeks in the Great Smokies, with a very accessible trail open to horseback riding. I'll go back this fall for some contrastive color. I marked the side of my tripod so I can find this same spot in October!
Sorry it's taken so long... I've missed each and every one of you, and you're in my prayers every day. Deborah's been going through a bit of misery with cancer, and though she has wonderful support from her family and the extended family that the church provides, I felt she needed my full attention. I can do no less for the one who graces my life so greatly.
We had just returned from a trip to the mountains where we also attended the Steven Curtis Chapman concert on the grounds of Biltmore House in Asheville last Friday evening. He's been one of my favorite musician/singer/songwriters for some twenty years, which, for me, is saying a lot. As a musician myself, I'm quite particular as to what I listen to. If you're not aware, the Chapman family has recently had to overcome a tragedy of their own. This link will provide information: www.stevencurtischapman.com/ . Out from that tragedy came a renewed sense of purpose and joy for them despite the heartbreak and everyone who walked away from that concert knew it and became a part of it, including Deborah.
I talk to so many people with so many philosophies concerning life, but when tragedies come, as most certainly they will, they go in search of "closure", whatever that means. I'm telling you that the best closure there is in this life is to tell your family and friends that you love them every chance you get... and then live like you mean it.
In a sense, this is a renewed joy for me... thank you all for being a part of my life. So... how have you been doing?

A single drop placed on the stem of a flower just near to were many other flowers were blooming. Tried to get the focus on the flower in the background through the drop. I am blown away by how close you can (must) get and how very small the depth of field becomes using the reverse lens technic.

Thai barbeque involves getting and then cooking your own food at your table. You could never do this in the US.
Tastes so much better than that canned stuff you get. And it wasn't because I was dehydrated; I had fresh coconut a few times and each time it tasted great.
yep this is my green and blue hair dye that i told u all i would get and i got it and here it is. It was taken with my new camera its a Nikon Coolpix.

In July of 2011, while photographing and freezing fireworks no longer felt like a challenge, and I began to realize that a lot of the pictures had seemed to look way too similar to each other. To solve this problem, I wanted to get a little experimental and spice things up a bit with some creativity. I developed a few deeply thought out techniques to be executed within the camera at the time of the photo being taken, to that make the fireworks look like anything except for what we are used to perceiving as an actual "firework".
This experimentation and creative technique, had proven fireworks to be my favorite things to photograph, as well as leading me to win 3rd place in the Popular Photography Magazine's "Your Best Shot Contest", with this photo:
"Abstract Explosion"

(Which can be found in the April Issue of Popular Photography Magazine)
When the celebrations began in 2012 for the anniversary of America's independence, I set out with a mission to photograph as many firework displays as I possibly had the time and energy for. My goal was to refine and improve my techniques and experiment further, to get and idea of what other immense and colorful designs I would be able to create - with no expectations.
***Instead of uploading a whole batch all at once, I will be revealing a new abstract firework photograph DAILY, for the next 30 days - to keep things more interesting***

Ford V8 trucks that were still available to the public during World War II could be bought with the Powell Gas Producer, as regular Fuel supplies were nil to impossible to get and the transport of Australia still had to run and get food etc to the shops. So they started to use these gas producers, they stop making them just after the war finishing, when the stocks of fuel become more available.

As with all the Finnish restaurants Ripa has taken me to, I try to go traditional when I can. This sauteed reindeer with mashed potato, lingonberry and picked cucumber is about as traditional as it gets. And it was fabulous. :)
The Cheetah was one of the myriad small production sports racing cars that appeared all over the US during the fifties and sixties. Designed to take on the Corvette and Cobra in big-bore sports car racing, the Cheetah was as basic and brutal as you could get. Strong but light chassis, big Chevy engine pushed as far back as you could get, and mean fiberglass bodywork to cover it all up. A real handful to drive, they usually baked their drivers by the end of a race, especially at places like Riverside and Laguna Seca in California.
Ah, FBF Jade. She was the first doll, bratz or otherwise, that I really worked on getting and had to track down. I overpaid for her a little bit, but don't regret it. She'd been hard to find, so getting her was a triumph for me. This was her display at the top of my bookself in my old room. She's not my #1 anymore, but she means a lot to me even still.

Nutrition is definitely the fundamental a part of a wholesome lifestyle. Just as much as all of us want to become healthier, can we know how to make doing this? Becoming healthy will not be as difficult as you might think. Making use of this advice, you are going to soon turn into a healthier, happier you.
In the beginning, many people have a problem stepping far from junk food and processed snacks. Whenever you eat unhealthy foods, it will become an addiction because you can easily get and tasty. It may be difficult to resist these cravings a long time after the meals have already been eliminated from the diet. Ensure you are snacking on healthier alternatives, like nuts or fruit.
Individuals need to understand that highly milled grains usually are not as nutritious as his or her natural counterparts. The hull or husk from the grains is removed, eliminating the vast majority of fiber and nutrients. Eating unprocessed grains can help you save cash on costly fiber supplements, and supply a nutritional boost too. No. This will not make any sense when you can get your nutrients from eating the entire grains.
Be sure you eat salmon with regularity. Salmon has many both niacin and omega-3's. These essential fatty acids are acknowledged to lower the possibility of multiple ailments like cardiovascular disease, cancer and depression, and niacin may defend against Alzheimer's disease. For any more organic choice, opt for wild salmon over salmon which are farmed.
Try always to encourage more drinking water during the day. Milk and juice are fine every now and then, but always offer water as a substitute. In case your kids drink milk and juice all day long, they may be hungry at dinner time.
If you are attempting to increase the fruits and vegetables for your diet, consider trying fresh fruit juices. This is often a great, time saving solution for individuals that don't possess the time for you to prepare raw veggies and fruit. Juices will give you the body with an array of vitamins and minerals. Juice that will not contain processed sugar or high-fructose corn syrup is not going to cause teeth cavities, but it's still a smart idea to make use of a straw, and rinse the mouth with water after drinking juice. This can help protect your teeth.
When eating meals, pace yourself. Lots of people are often very busy and consequently, get into the habit of smoking of eating quickly. Instead of eating quickly, go slow. Take pleasure in the aromas and taste of the food. Also, this can decrease the cravings which you have for additional food. It can also help in preventing you against overeating.
Anybody can lead a wholesome lifestyle. Quality nutrition is key to feeling healthy the foods you eat will predict how you feel. By taking the points in this post to heart, you are going to enjoy life more. fatburningplan.net/free-report-and-1-week-meal-plan/
This is me exhibiting my oral fixation. The camera is as close to my mouth as it can get and still be safe from me gnawing on it. I just realized that I do that sort of thing tonight. Cameras and girls - I don't know what it is. Good thing I'm not into guns, probably. I took this because I was bored waiting for the sun to go down so that I could get a good film shot with the other camera. I saved it cause I liked the tones.

Algiers, Algeria, I upload these 2 ordinary photos because very few foreigners see this city, as tourist visas are difficult to get and the city had a reputation of violence in the 1990's. The traffic is much lighter in this view, but that means cars are going much faster. The french constructed railway tracks between the city center and the harbor, unfortunately resulting in an ugly corridor separating the city from its waterfront.
A robber-fly in the shade on a very hot afternoon. Taken with the iPhone by sneaking up behind it. I am amazed how close I could get and how good the photo turned out all things considered.. Has been cropped and lightened.

Thought I'd do another one of these colourisations. with this lovely old black and white photo.
With these, a good step is to reduce the extreme contrast that you get. And also working from colour photos from the time - luckily there's a few from this story, so you can match the original colours. And then, of course, to make it look cool!
