I was trying to pull another print from a dry plate - I wet the plate and laid blue tissue paper on it. However, instead of the ink transferring to the paper, the blue from the paper transferred to the plate. This is the plate with the wet tissue paper on it - you can see right through the paper.

A Gelli plate is a commerically made gelatin-type plate for monoprint/monotyping that makes it very very easy to pull prints without a press. I got one in January of 2016 and had loads of fun playing with different techniques. gelliplate print mailart postcard mailed out today.

I’m getting better results using a new gelli plate, new paint, and new paper. I also printed the laser transfer sheet twice to increase the toner density.

Gelli Arts 9x12 inch gel plate, Amsterdam Standard Series Lamp Black paint, and Hammermill Premium Color Copy paper for both the laser transfer sheet and print sheet. Image is about 4.5x7 inches (11.x17.5 cm).
