Four of the things I'm doing at the moment, on Gelli Plate backgrounds. Not finished at all!!! The first one will show the "Little Prince" with a giraffe on a planet. The second one is called "A Giraffe Parade". The third one's title is "Bad Green Cat is Mocking the Pink Poodle" and the last one will be about rabbits, giraffes and circus!

Block printing ink - red, orange & yellow
OHP masks
String
I'm liking the landscape marks in the background of this one, all artefacts of the ink rolling process. Orange was the first layer.
The halos round the planets were formed by applying the circle masks to the plate, then rolling the ink. There are four or five layers in this one.
Gelli botanic monotypes. I love that they approach the look and feeling of old daguerrotypes - but in color.
These were made by ink the plate, pressing the botanical onto the plate and then either lifting the botanical - or not - before printing. The "composites" are two separate prints (foreground/background of same botanical in same position) that were combined digitally.
5 X 7 inches (printed area)
A Gelli plate is a commerically made gelatin-type plate for monoprint/monotyping that makes it very very easy to pull prints without a press. I got one in January of last year and had loads of fun playing with different techniques. You can google for more info on Gelli printing, this link looks pretty good: keetonsonline.wordpress.com/2013/05/16/all-about-gelli-pl...

Experimenting with Gelli plate crayon transfer technique. I did a crayon rubbing on the grill of my electric fan and transferred that image onto the Gelli plate and tried to print it with black acrylic paint. The print was very light. I scanned it and modified the sharpness and contrast on my iPad.
