1/12 scale frozen mini dolls. They are on picco neemo bodies and Anna's hands have been swapped with a Figma doll so she has a greater range of motion. Both are wearing dresses from the Etsy store Miniatures by Mimi.

Kristoff is my favorite character in the movie. A lot of people think Olaf is the funniest, but Kristoff won me over with "Reindeer Are Better Than People." I love this scene in the movie because it really got me hoping that Anna would fall for Kristoff instead of Hans. (We somehow didn't see that Hans was meant as a bad guy. A friend said to me, "But he wanted to marry her in the first five minutes," to which I replied, "Everybody gets married in five minutes in a Disney movie.") Like our Lagoon Gift Set, we were completely enchanted by this when we first saw it in stores and it went right on the "when it goes on sale" list. The figurines are absolutely charming and I love how the dolls are dressed for such a distinctive scene. I remember the day we got this like it was yesterday. Our guinea pig Roxxi had an eye infection, like pink eye, and it had spread to the other eye. She kept turning her head, so we were running out of drops (our couch got medicated for pink eye instead of the guinea pig). I called the vet and asked for a refill. We had to drive pretty far out to go to that exotics vet. On our first trip up there, with Roxxi, we hadn't been able to make any detours because she was with us. We did, however, note shopping locations that may contain toys. As always, the most desirable location was the exotic Walmart in the area. When we made the return trip to the vet, without Roxxi (the car ride really stressed her out, so I asked if we could just get a refill without bringing her back), we were able to stop in. It was actually one of the earliest journeys in our jeep with dubbed "Angel," a vehicle we possessed for a short, but very special time. We went right to the toy section. Feeling hopeful, I took this to a price scanner and, to my delight, discovered it was marked down to nine dollars! It was very exciting! Another thing I remember about that day, every time I look at these dolls, is another purchase I made. It was right after Dr. Seuss month and a lot of his books were marked down to five dollars. I work as an aide in an intensive special needs classroom. One of my favorite students ever is a huge fan of Dr. Seuss. I got "Green Eggs and Ham" for him that day and we must have read it together a hundred times over the next four years. Another thing that sets these dolls apart is the stands Shelly made. She made them in one of her earliest youtube videos and I think they add pizzazz to these dolls. Even without the connection to that special young man, Angel the Jeep, Shelly's first foray into youtube, and our beloved Roxxi, this set has a magic all of its own. They enchant me just as much now as they did four years ago.
I didn't have the right patience today in restyling elsa's coronation hair,it was a dramatic mail day today when she came.
idina menzel doll meets mandy moore doll !! I like how mandy moore turned out as a doll, she isn't too bad,and was quite affordable...a great addition for my Rapunzel display, finally.
I've always had a fondness for Disney birthday princess dolls. The origins of this love are rooted in the 2002 Princess Party line. I remember ogling the dolls at KB Toys and other stores for ages. In the end, I only got two of them as a kid--Belle and Jasmine. But I had intended to buy more. In fact, it was one of those sets I wanted to complete. There was even an awesome tea party playset marketed alongside the dolls which I also ogled. These Frozen Birthday Party dolls are not from a collection featuring other characters. Rather, they are wearing costumes from a short movie. Regardless, I adore that they are party themed. Compared to some other Mattel dolls from their time, they are decent quality (definitely not as detailed as the Princess Party dolls..who weren't even that impressive back in the early 2000s). I also appreciate the unique facial screenings these two have--especially Anna. She doesn't look anything like my other Mattel Anna dolls. Her face is much more delicate, without any harsh lines. Elsa also has a softer look about her. Due to the popularity and age of the last Mattel Disney dolls produced, I see them ALL the time when secondhand shopping. However, I often don't buy them since they are repetitive and not the best quality (SO many molded clothes). I was immediately captivated by this Birthday Party Anna and Elsa pair, when I stumbled upon them at the local flea market in 2021. Even Colleen, who usually doesn't have the same obsession for Disney dolls as myself, vouched that we buy them. There outfits were so eye catching, that I even made room for them on my crowded display. They were so much fun to design handmade stands for, because of their unique costumes. I can't deny that I love this set as much as my Disney Store Frozen dolls (who generally speaking are more detailed and considerably more attractive).
