The new armor of the Leopard IIA8 is a classified composite. What is known is that Carbon Steel and Titanium Teraboride comprise most of the hard armor that surrounds most of the tank. The Titanium alloy used is believed to be able to withstand direct hits from 155mm AT rounds at 50 yards. Carbon Nanotubes, Carbon Fiber, and Kevlar are rumored to coat the inside of the tank to help protect the crew. There is also speculation that the carbon nanotubes are layered in the metal armor to act as a shock absorber. The German Ministry of Defense has neither confirmed nor denied these claims. The most obvious defense, the "Vormund" Active Projectile Interceptor System is one of the most advanced in the world, able to destroy thirty projectiles before a reload, giving the Leopard enough time to either kill the threat, or escape. The crew can also specify what to intercept, from 40mm grenades, to 155mm artillery shells.

I also found a Black Widow spider next to my hand on the box that the artificial Christmas tree is in when I moved it out of the garage that same weekend. I captured it as well, but it died out in the garage while Wolfie, being inside, lived. I fed it a couple of Earwigs I found in the house as well & sprinkled a few drops of water in the container as well...
