Trying to climb up and over the top of the Poike volcano

Those look like mounds but are actually volcanic craters in the side of Poike, leading to the highest headlands

Dropping back down to the coast through the light scattered clouds

I won't need the flight computer in the beginning but eventually I will be engaging the AP for the first time in the Caravan to head for my destination along the displayed course

Yea don't know why my ATC call changed for departure but, ok whatever

Nope, still circling, still climbing. Looking back towards Tokyo outskirts

Lake Miyagase, a large artificial reservoir thanks to a dam

Okay I'm tired of fighting the winds and the turbulence. Close enough! Time to head for my destination back north of Tokyo

A final look at Fuji and also the peaks of the Okuchichibu Mountains (near) and Minami Alps (far)

Short final into Honda Airport

Clouds breaking up as I approach the US east coast

Ahhh the eastern seaboard air traffic congestion

Passing over I-95, the NJ Turnpike

Way late on turn to final, swinging around the quarry

Better turn onto final for lineup

Wish I could say this was one of my best landings to end the world tour but no I thumped down and bounced once before settling

At least I properly engaged reverse thrust and didn't have to go around for a second time

Total trip range will be 1,500nm so it will be a bit of a stretch but should be doable

If I were at sea level I'd probably just roll straight out for takeoff from here but need to back-taxi due to elevation

Positive rate of climb out of Cachi

God dammit, let my ITT run away

The Andes spread out before me

Looking out east towards the Bolivian jungles

Salinas grandes and Lago Salar de Guayatayoc, two of the large salt lakes up on the Andean plateau

A higher look towards the Bolivian lowlands

High and dry turns to low and lush

Yes the winds are ~10kts less but the air is thicker and I'm not going as fast as I was at FL305 and I'm burning more fuel. D'oh

You can barely make out traces of civilization on the parched landscape

Trying to cut the corner of my flight plan and get on track for ALC->JUL but the Flight Director has decided to intercept the course on the back end to fly through ALC towards JUL rather than just intercept at the nearest point ahead of ALC

I haven't been able to break 300kts ground speed this entire time down at FL245 so it's back up to FL305

I have the MFD display set to allow me to tell the Flight Director to proceed to the next waypoint since I wasn't sure if it would automatically come off the direct-to command and continue the plan. It did tho. I'm managing a similar pace to FL305 and FL245 keeps me just above controlled airspace so I decide to remain at this level for now still

I finally decide it's time to reduce power to 75% in order ot keep my destination within range - too little too late? I did have some IRL time constraints to deal with tho

Looking down along one of several deep-cut valleys that lead off the plateau down to the Pacific coast

Flying over the Nazca Lines, unfortunately was too high to make them out at FL245

Getting back on plan as I was using a heading hold to fly out over the Lines

I realize there's no good reason to fly over that VOR waypoint when I can just head straight for the airport from here

HIghlands eroded down to lowlands

Looking out at the Pacific on the Chilean coast, so many fields irrigated by the water running off the mountains to San Clemente

Some glaciers and past glacial striation at Cordillera Huayhuash

The many peaks of the Cordillera Blanca sub-range

Fuel is now low in both tanks. All this winding terrain is taking longer than expected
