Departing from Näsinge Airfield, headed south along my intended course

Despite having to float long to avoid a bird strike I was able to touch down gently with plenty of room

Coming down beneath the clouds over the northern shore of Lake Tana

Rolling out for departure, you can just barely make out a flock of birds near the end of the runway

Finally manage to find the slope - so hard to see the lights against the snow from a distance

A swath of Aussie red dirt north of Grant - you don't see that color much in this area

Seeing what I can of the Narrien Range

Fraser Island is the final bit of Australian coast I can spot before endless ocean prevails

In sight of the peninsula that holds the capital of Nouméa

Headed for the ground as the sun heads below the horizon

After all that I unsurprisingly only managed to pull of an "average landing" of 1.5G, even with a 6kt headwind, as I plop her down onto the runway

Approaching initial 4,500' cruise altitude and getting my mixture leaned

Skies still look ominous and winds are still ridiculous but I'm willing to give it a shot as I thank the fine folks for putting me up in their house at Out Skerries

Got another player coming in for a landing

Finally lining up on the VOR I tuned to before takeoff, which will take me almost straight to HIda

Dodging a few clouds as clear skies start to clutter up

The city of Morioka sprawling out in front of Mount Iwate

Under the clouds now lets me look ahead to spot my destination - Okushiri Island

Ahhhh feck the interstate goes *that way*

Another look back at Frosty Peak this time from the sunlit side. Further in the distance barely discernible from the clouds is the Pavlof Volcano

Back on downwind, taking a look off towards the sunset

Coming around along the shore of Lake Tana to pass over the city of Bahir Dar itself

Adjusting for gyro drift in my heading indicator as I aim for North Bay

Swerving back onto proper approach for base leg

Following the Sumida River towards the bay

Straight shot to Princeton, NJ - hey we got an arrival inbound

Can just roll on and head straight out

Heading the wrong way, have to come around but figure I might as well do a bit of sight-seeing

Got a warning for enabling the AP without first enabling the YD - never done that before. Ended up switching the AP off again anyways when I decided to swing around the island first

Banking hard over the Great Sound to finally get on course for home

Looking for the airport - hard to spot and I forgot the approach should be over the quarry

Catching sight of Nevado Sajama

Reserve fuel level reached, should still have plenty for approach right? Right?? Well - maybe if it were straight-in....

Short taxi down the runway and turned about right into takeoff thrust. Prob coulda just turned this way from the taxiway

I dunno how the game generates these water patterns but it's real cool and realistic and makes it so there's not just a featureless blue expanse beneath you

Small atolls are all you see out here

Coming off AP to line up for my straight-in approach. West to East across the South Pacific is the way to go!

Taxiing back towards the parking tarmac

Oh good I have a parking space open

Looking out over the towns of Burlington and Mt Vernon along the Skagit River with Mt Baker in the distance

Mt Rainier peeking out through the clouds

Guided missile destroyer (I think) sailing out of or towards the naval yards near Seattle
