No issues during climb, approaching cruise altitude with one last look back at the eastern islands of American Samoa
Despite the slow approach speed I managed to control my flare and a nice 5kts headwind let me make a very soft landing at 1.13G. Reverse thrusters were successfully engaged this time
Got a little uncoordinated on landing with a wheel tipping up - despite the winds being mostly head-on they were strong enough to make things challenging still. Got all three wheels down without any real trouble tho
Rolling for takeoff and that tractor trailer was driving right towards the runway!! Thankfully it stopped short and drove the other direction as I passed it and more thankfully it wouldn't have registered as a crash anyways but still...
A closer look at Takayama as I fly by. Although it doesn't stand out, Mount KurobegorÅ is visible in the distance, one of Japans famous 100 peaks
Double-checking runway conditions - looks nice and dry. Not that it really matters since it's also nice and loooong
Traveling down the length of Great Guana Cay with Scotland Cay visible at the far end and Great Abaco Island stretching across the horizon
Throttled back a bit to bring ITT down to normal levels and now enjoying the views as I climb out, starting with looking north east over the plateau towards Karijini National Park
Headed back towards Cold Bay, with the Westdahl Peak just under my left wing and the Pogromni Volcano rising higher to the right
Cutting the corner and heading out on my next leg early as I climb with better performance than expected - oh yea, I'm light!
Half tank, time for a range check. Despite the nasty headwinds looks like I am going to make it just fine
As with London, stayed a fair distance from Paris, but you can still make out the Seine running through it
Leveling out over the city of Annecy on the lake of the same name. Mont Blanc is prominent in the distance
Deciding the clouds are scattered enough that I can climb back up to 2,500' and just weave around them. More fun that way anyhow
Sadly the island wasn't well-represented even though someone made a custom model of the airport. The entire northern side of the island lacked proper water masking and the lighthouse was not there next to the famous 18th hole of the Harbour Town Golf Links
Bumpy final into the airport. Spent as much time here as I could convince my parents to let me, watching the planes come and go
If at first you don't succeed... Andrew also making another attempt out ahead of me but that ended up in similar fashion to my last try
Cutting across in front of me as Andrew came inland after flying out over the water so we would both pass over the approach corridor to Dunkirk airport
Lake Ontario! Have also finally almost caught up to Andrew after spotting him at last just after reaching the wind farm
The big'un in this area, Mount Nantai, which was recently reclassified as an active volcano in 2008. It sits beside Lake Chūzenji
Turning east towards Andros Island after failing to spot a tiny speck of land on the charts dubbed Orange Cay. It has probably been swallowed by sea rise and erosion. Or, just not masked out properly to be visible in the sim
Headed to follow the shore north and ducking back down to 2,500' to stay clear of the drooping clouds
As I gain speed after leveling off my range increases to almost make it to the airport with reserve, so I should be fine. That nice tailwind is also very helpful
Looking close to note the earthen dam and use that to confirm our location on the charts as north of Mormon Reservoir, where we should be
Entering the Detroit River, flying along the US/Canada border, keeping an eye out for additional VFR traffic and any traffic out of Grosse Isle to the left. The clear blue sky makes the water look tropical
Ahhhh, I finally find the additional autopilot console way down at the bottom of the center pedestal. Weird! But at last I get the AP working
