Out on assignment for work the other day, I had the chance to pass by one of my favorite farms. Much to my delight, there were plenty of new babies to be photographed. So, I stopped, rolled down the car window and got a few quick shots. A return trip is in order soon.
Playing along with the Flickrchallenge#48. I used the SSS Bold Flowers Outline stencil over distressed inks with the new SSS Shine On stamp set. The greeting is from WPlus9.

This is one of those cards where I'm not entirely sure the idea I had in my head came out on the paper :) And I'm still deciding if I even like the finished product. But hey. Here it is! :)
The SSS Flickrchallenge is Anything Goes! I pulled out the Clustered Leaves die and cut it several times in vellum. I used my Versamark pen to cover just areas of the leaves in EP. I used Ranger Rose Gold and Gold. I created my own "Gold paper" by embossing a sheet with the same gold EP, and then used the SSS Big Thanks die to cut out the skinny layer. I used vellum again for the mat layer. I popped it up on a simple navy piece to give me somewhere to tuck all the leaves.
I'm late in celebrating WCMD. W&W is hosting a number of challenges that end today. Gayatri's challenge is to Dress Up Your Die Cuts. I'd say this counts, so I"m entering that challenge. I'ms also entering into Shea's Lucky 7 Limit Challenge. 2 Papers (vellum, navy cardstock) and 2 embossing powders (gold and rose gold) and 2 dies (Clustered Leaves and Big Thanks). 6 is under 7! :)
Created this for the Simon Says Flickrchallenge #95, anything goes. All stamps and dies are from Simon Says Stamps.
I used the alcohol pearl inks to color behind the SimonSaysStamp Filigree heart dies. I love this sentiment from SimonSaysStamp. Another card entry for the SimonSaysStamp Flickrchallenge.

This was my first picture using the manual focus :-)
I think it would be nicer if the big ball on the top was not there...
I've got inky fingers after making this card for the current SSS FlickrChallenge! I blend Picked Raspberry with some touches of Abandoned Coral and then heat embossed the flowers. Then I blended some Twisted Citron and Some Mowed Lawn (LOVE these two colors together) and stamped the leaves. I fussy cut them a wee bit messily to go with the scribbled look. I have a harder time with large areas, but I gave it a whirl with the background using a light hand with Peacock feathers. I'm no Laura Bassen, but I'll keep practicing.
SSS Products Used: Favorite Flowers, Painted Hello, Stitched Circles, Smoke Cardstock
I'm also entering over at the SSS Monday Challenge - April Showers Bring May Flowers
Having finished an autograph session (by Doug Gilmour) for work, I took this as I left the Futureshop that recently opened on Young and Dundas.

To son of a motherless goat ...Tim, don't worry...this isn't the ONE! I've got another one...i found the "balls" to take the shot...but I've not gotten them pumped enough to post it yet...maybe in the morning...for a good Monday laugh ;-)
Here it is
I've posted this image solely for the purpose of the group it belongs to - Flickr challenge - We challenge you...
I was dressing up as Tank Girl, just for fun.
View through a tyre swing at a local playground. I am sure all the parents and children thought I was weird taking this shot as I scrambled onto my knees.
When the Ohio Foothills January 2011 challenge was announced, I had this little place in mind.
With the subject being "House/cabin in the snow," I immediately began thinking about roads that had cabins on them and this one came into my head. I have a summer shot of this place that I hope to dig out later and post for comparison.
As usual, the challenge was a challenge. I don't photograph a lot of houses, so I tried to think outside the box a little bit. Thinking outside the box made me decide I wanted to play with a texture and see if I could make it look more wintry.
The texture is "Antique Blue" courtesy of SKC Photography. I used the "darken" setting for the layer and set the opacity to 40% in Adobe Photoshop Elements.
The ModSquadChallenge this week is all about stencils (www.modsquadchallenge.com). I decided to try a different way to use a stencil for this card. I used the SSS Harvest Stencil with some Transfer Gel. Once it was dry, I used some Gina K Tranquil Teal foil and ran it through my Minc. I didn't want to cover up the foil design, so I just stamped a GIna K sentiment from the Autumn Wreath Builder.
The SSS Monday Challenge is all about foils, so I'm also linking up there. And the SSS FlickrChallenge is Anything Goes, so I'm linking up there, as well.

This card is for the SSS Flickrchallenge#194. The floral stamp is from the SSS “Beautiful Mothers” set. The sentiment is
from “Hibiscus Blooms”.
After taking a walk in the semi-warm weather at Shawnee State Park with a friend, we had a great dinner at Mex-Itali (where I ordered both Mexican and Italian because I couldn't decide which one I wanted more) and then we went to Alexandria Point Park for some sunset shots. This is where the Scioto River flows into the Ohio River. All of the flood water added to an already great reflection.
From Wikipedia ...
The Carl D. Perkins Bridge is a cantilever bridge that spans the Ohio River between Portsmouth, Ohio and Greenup County, Kentucky. The bridge carries the two lanes of State Route 852 and Truck Route U.S. Highway 23. The bridge connects to Kentucky Route 8. During the demolition of the original U.S. Grant Bridge and the construction of its replacement upstream, it was the only highway bridge connecting Ohio to Kentucky at Portsmouth. The Perkins Bridge also served as a detour for U.S. Highway 23 during this time period.
The bridge opened on January 28, 1988. It is named after the late Carl D. Perkins, Congressman from the 7th District of Kentucky.
For the 1st Flickr Challenge. I had to dress up for an event and it just wasn't me. I had nothing to wear, so I found this dress (which had been really, really long) in a thrift shop and had a friend help me modify it. We then took some goofy photos of how I'd go to the event if I could...again with Converse high tops (these with smears of paint all over them).
The theme of the event was "Pretty in Pink," so all the other girls wore pink. It was enough to get me in a dress...I definitely refused to wear pink!
I actually have a pink shirt on today though. Heh!
A stack of books that I've used in my career to get the job done. Taken as a representation of "Wisdom" for the Macro Mondays challenge for January 28, 2013.
Used Pentax K10D camera with the smc P-D FA 100mm F2.8 lens. Light the subject using a single AF 540 FGZ flash, snooted and gridded with a Honl 1/4 CTO gel. Exposure for the flash was set via TTL via wireless.
Needed to rearrange the books a few time to get the right effect. Had tried using a 35mm macro lens but the stack of books looked too minimal to give the feeling of a font of wisdom.

Challenge #107 Draw how you get your news
These cards were created using Jennifer McGuire's technique of "make your own ink pad" from the Spring OCC. I only have a couple of reinkers, so I used Squeezed Lemonade, Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers. Originally, I tried using a more detailed stamp that was totally a bust. So I went with this SSS Leaves Background stamp. The 3rd card used a background crated with the leftover ink on the baby wipes. I used a SSS Leaves Cluster die. The sentiment is from an old SSS and Hero Arts Stamptember Collaboration set.
the SSS Flickrchallenge #148 is all about Encouragement, so I'm linking there.
Hee hee... I can't help it. I was hella cute. She doesn't seem like she's gonna grow into such a trouble maker, does she?
I'm thinkin' about bringing back that hairstyle... start rockin the thick bangs again... any suggestions?
**FlickrChallenge Group- I know a new challenge has been laid down, but comeon- clearly I was the isht in '83! Possibly my best year...**
It took about 20 shots to get the composition and It's still not perfect. I had to put the camera on the floor even at 18mm couldn't quite get 2 full triangles in

The Ohio Foothills Flickr group's challenge for December is "Heartfelt Christmas Card".
This challenge was a challenge in itself, because it really made me think about what I could come up with for a Christmas card. Thanks to the Lucas family for sharing their love of Christ in their front yard with this lighted manger scene.
created for the SSS flickrchallenge #90, Love / Hearts. I have used the Simon Says large hearts dies, cutting them from a Pink Fresh 6x6 paper, I added some doodles to the hearts. The hugs die is from MFT and the small sentiment is from SSS as well.
Created this card for the Simon Says flickrchallenge#110. Using the Sketched Flowers stamp set and my new intense color blocks on craft paper.
Made this card for SSS Flickrchallenge 96, embossing. All stamps and stencils are from Simon Says Stamps and heat embossed in clear with versa fine black onyx ink.
I made these two cards using Simon Says Stamp September card kit. Entering them to the flickrchallenge #78 ❤
**P.S. decided (since this was Valentine's Day and this is a love-bug :) to use this one in the Ohio Foothills challenge along with the Roonie one (I seem to be stuck on cars lately)...anyway, this one also is more red than foothills, but it can be found at the Casa del Bloomfield (hee-hee!) on Shyville Road :)
O.K.--so you know how in the previous pic there were TWO red vehicles in Mr. B.'s back yard on Shyville Road??? Well, ta-da! This is the other one...a cute little 1968 VW convertible (I'm tellin' ya...he LOVES his bugs!). Anyway, after trespassing on his icy property (JUST KIDDING---I totally asked permission), I took dozens of pics of this bug and the Lloyd. Needless to say based upon my recent uploads, this red Ohio Foothills February Flickr challenge (say that ten times fast!) has created a monster...I can't seem to stop seeing "red" (hope that saying isn't some ominous prediction of anger coming into my life--ha!). Funny how I was struggling to find red...now I'm struggling to pick two for the challenge :) Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
