Bloomers is a local treasure located well off the beaten path. It offers a wonderful selection of plants, shrubs and trees (perfect for this location) trellises, yard art and garden whimsy.
Book cover of "The great Orm of Loch Ness: a practical inquiry into the nature and habits of waterhorses," by F. W. Holiday (1968).
Legends about the existence of a water monster in Scotland's Loch Ness have been around since the 6th Century A.D.
Hungry? The World's Largest Catsup Bottle is in Collinsville, Illinois - bring me the largest hamburger and we'll have lunch :)
They look more like galvanized to me, probably spilled before and put in the wrong box ( 3" bright common/ nah. )
The list of Viking Gods is long. Odin...King of the Norse Gods. God of poetry, battle and death. Thor...God of sky, thunder and fertility. Known as "thundergod" and "charioteer" Vali...Son of Odin. Skadi...Goddess of Winter and of the Hunt.
Loki...The sly trickster of the Norse Gods. Many, many more. My husband was born in Denmark and if he had been born centuries ago I am sure he would have been one of the fierce Viking warriors :)
We were at our friend's cabin over the weekend. Their fast-moving bump-prone four-year-old son, Jack, has a fascination with his mom's DSLR regularly placing it in #ImminentDanger.
For this week's Flickr Friday challenge, "A view from my window" I did something really different for me.
Typically I only work with photos I've taken myself, but after struggling to develop a decent concept using the windows in our condo, I decided instead to make a composite from other images, applying some of the techniques I've been recently learning in Photoshop.
In this case, the window image is from another Flickr member, Roman Scipio: flic.kr/p/bJ8S3M
Check him out.
The apocolypse scene outside is from a Google search: images.app.goo.gl/fSM3bb2NYt41kgPn7
As far as editing techniques, basic masking, composite color blending (to make the light from the scene outside blend with the window/sill), displacement map and liquefy effects for the "spray paint".
It's a pretty bleak image, which is not at all in my usual character, but I was pleased enough with the editing to submit it for the challenge.
"I can't believe she is on this with me." The boy was playing alone when the girl came running onto the playground and joined him. Then they happily rocked back and forth, lost in the joys of childhood.
The pride and joy of yesterday is in fast decay. But what can I say? I am sure they paid their way, with many a long days. But fast decay has been the way for more than just today. And by the way I too feel the decay most everyday. But I know the Way. And when decay heads your way and you need the Way. Just ask Jesus and He will be with you all the way today and forever.
