Today, protesters once again returned to downtown Raleigh, NC demanding Governor Roy Cooper reopen the state of NC sooner amid the "Covid 19 pandemic" executive orders that has essentially shut down the state. First the goal was "flattening the curve" so that hospitals would not be overwhelmed and our healthcare system would not collapse base on flawed death predictions of 2 million people dying in the USA. When that false narrative was debunked, they moved the goal posts to "were buying time til we can develop a therapeutic or vaccine". But here in lies the problem, if we are waiting for a "deus ex machina" while tens of thousands of people lose their jobs, and fall into poverty and despair, and we have no timeline at all! Millions have filed for unemployment after trying to contact NC Unemployment for weeks, That is millions out of work. No wonder there are so many angry Americans protesting on our streets.

Social distancing is beautiful thing in an almost totally deserted city but in the meantime the beaches, parks, garden centers and hardware stores were too crowded. The screens in the city display the message Keep your distance and #CareForEachother together with some guidelines of do's and don'ts.

The photographs in this album were not taken by myself. They were taken in and around London in late March 2020 and show the extent the people in this lovely city are taking the current pandemic very seriously indeed.

Like millions of others in the UK I’m adhering to the advice of the government to remain in my home so that my own chances of catching the Covid-19 virus are minimised.

The pictures show how quiet some major London landmarks are at this worrying time.

I’d love to go out and take some pictures of my own but know that to do so would be irresponsible.

I hope that the pictures give my friends and contacts on flickr some idea of how serious the people of the UK are taking this potential health crisis.
