Durness beach, a quiet summer's walk last year - been thinking about this place a lot with the new North Coast 500 - wondering if i'll ever get that peace again. Don't get me wrong I'm delighted for the area, it needs visitors - just being selfish and wanting the quiet ! Up and down the New South Wales coast there are many pools built adjacent to the Tasman Sea. Our local pool has been used continuously since 1894, and is the only one to be named after a gold medal winning Olympian. The late Beverley Whitfield trained here with the local swimming club, and won the 200m breaststroke at the Munich Olympics in 1972.

A fallen tree in the forest. Its decay is the source of a lot of life.
