Extensive damage from the frost. The entire tree looks like this. Figs grow from "new cane". I wonder where the new growth will appear. I'll post a "before image" below.

The pommegranate bush looks worse than this.

We have a dwarf (supposedly, but no one told it, and if I would let it, it would grow to the first floor!) fig tree near one of the corners of the house, and each year it gives us more figs than we can eat. This is what they look like when the fruit emerges from the pod and is beginning to take a recognizable shape.

Handheld macro shot, lovely bokeh by the Micro–Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 lens. Can’t wait for the native Z–mount 105 to arrive, as I have pre–ordered it (June 2021).

but enter at your own peril: steep and slippery-sides, over 3-metres deep, submerged branches, and critters aplenty! The fig-tree atop the rock on the right has a garland wrapped around it's trunk to appease the spirits of the land (according to local animistic belief). Some say the pool-spirit's face is cast in the facing moss-covered rock (left of centre)...

Nah, I just made that last bit up, but the rock does appear to have a face with a lopsided mouth.

There's a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they're absolutely free.

If you want to be reminded of the love of the Lord, just watch the sunrise.

The secret to a good morning is to watch the sunrise with an open heart.

Be the morning in everyone's eyes and make their day turn into a thing of beauty.

In ancient times, where Protaras is now located, stood the old city-state of Leukolla. The city possessed a small safe harbour where the Athenian Demetrius Poliorketes sought refuge in the year 306 BC, lying in wait for Ptolemeos, one of the successors of Alexander the Great.

Fig Tree Bay is a sandy beach in the resort of Protaras, Cyprus. The sandy beach stretches for 500m and the waters are clean enough for the beach to have been awarded blue flag designation. The beach, which runs the length of its own cove, takes its name from the fig trees located close to the coast

This is Miss Cecily's Photo taken with an iPhone 5 - She said:

"The New Leaves on the fig trees are sprouting. The color and fierce natural light make me want to take a picture. Not quite catching what I see yet."

A handheld panorama of the big Fig Tree in Arusha National Park, Tanzania. It started as two Strangler Fig Trees that grew on other trees and strangled them in the fight for light. It is a wonderful tree and a great entrance to the fantastic hike up Mount Meru (4565m).

Wiki: The Malabar grey hornbill (Ocyceros griseus) is a hornbill endemic to the Western Ghats and associated hills of southern India. They have a large beak but lack the casque that is prominent in some other hornbill species. They are found mainly in dense forest. They move around in small groups, feeding on figs and other forest fruits. Their loud cackling and laughing call makes them familiar to people living in the region.

Located on Calle Amargura, it was erected between the 15th and 16th centuries. This building has Gothic and Renaissance elements.

Its main façade follows the typology of most Cáceres palaces, with granite masonry highlighting the semi-circular arched doorway, large voussoirs reaching to the ground , a large image of Carvajal’s coat of arms framed in an alfiz, and a corner balcony under a pointed arch.

Inside the house, there is a rectangular cloister with arcades on columns.

Its twelfth-century round tower made of rough ashlars also stands out. At its base you will find the palace chapel, decorated with some interesting frescoes.

Recommendations: You must visit the garden, with a spectacular fig tree--a clear example of the interior green spaces that can be found today in these buildings in the Historic Centre.

Signs I saw while in Auckland, New Zealand, recently.

Our tree lady finally got a crew out yesterday and took care of all our trees blown down by Hurricane Irma. We can actually see the fig tree now. :-) We decided to leave the tree as is and let the garden lady decide what to do with it. It's still alive and green.

We also got our damaged gutters replaced yesterday. Excellent day!

Frost bite hit the big tree in early spring and it completely lost all the burgeoning fig crop. For a long time I didn't think it would try again. But it did! Every creature in the area will enjoy some of these. Even some lucky humans, if they're quick. :-)

Black figs, I think. They have a very strong flavor.

Fig tree bay . At the southern end of the Protaras main beach, Fig Tree Bay is very popular. It has a small sand island just off the coast, which is great for snorkelling with lots of fish to be seen.

Shooting into the sun at Figtree Creek. Technically pretty lousy, but there's something about the effect I like.

An older one of the sunset from the wooden path at Camp Figtree, South Africa.

By a chance opportunity in 2011, I came to Brazil from China. When I had just arrived, my eyes were overflowing with fresh and new experiences, curiosity, and I had a beautiful feeling about the future. But after a short time, this fresh and new feeling was quickly replaced by the loneliness and pain of finding myself in a far-off foreign land. Every day I went back home all alone, ate by myself, looking at the walls around me every day without anyone even to talk to, and I felt especially lonely in my heart, often crying all alone. When I felt the most pain and helpless, the Lord Jesus brought me into a gathering by means of a friend. Through reading the word of the Lord, singing hymns, and praying in gatherings, my lonely heart received the consolation of the Lord. I learned from the Bible that the heavens and earth and all things were created by God, and man too is God’s creation. The Lord Jesus was crucified for the redemption of mankind, and it was the Lord Jesus who redeemed us from sin, and He is the only Redeemer of mankind. In the face of the Lord’s salvation, which is greater than all else, I felt deeply moved and resolved to follow the Lord for the rest of my life. Because of this I was baptized on Thanksgiving to become a Christian not just in name but in reality. Because I liked singing songs, especially those in praise of God , after I was baptized I took the initiative to join the choir and work as part of it. Through God’s guidance and blessings, I lived in peace and happiness. Every time I went to a gathering or praised God in worship, I felt suffused with energy.
