The other day at a local bird hotspot, I was able to get these three shots of a Carolina chickadee feeding from a cattail in a marsh. I don't often get to photograph chickadees due to my lack of a feeder (Although that should change soon enough), so I'll take even these poor-quality shots, mostly because I love the background and the windblown fluff.

Boeing employees and their families joined Feeding South Florida to help sort food donations that came in through food drives, supermarkets and other food industry companies in the area. In total, approximately 14,000 pounds of food were sorted, resulting in 24,000 meals for families in need. Feeding South Florida (FSF) is one of 202 food banks comprising the Feeding America network nationwide. They are the leading domestic hunger relief organization in South Florida, serving Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties through a network of nonprofit partner agencies, including soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, group homes, and other emergency food service programs.

I'm not sure how this was allowed or legitimate... the only suspect part of the day, actually, as they were pretty careful to be sensitive to the ecology of the Reef... but after we ate lunch, the crew gave lunch to the fish!
As with all tour groups, they spent some time trying to upsell - here you'll hear them selling t-shirts, part of the funds of which go to saving sharks.
I suspect I've worn everyone out on Waxwings, but they are my favorite winter subject here in Fairbanks.
The rising sun lit my neighbors tree that was full of feeding waxwings.
As the tree is about out of berries I'll probably be done with them until next year soon.

The kids are feeding a quokka that they appropriately named Elisabeth lol Quokkas can only be found in Western Australia, and there mainly on Rottnest Island. When Dutch explorers first reached the island LOOOONG ago, they mistook the quokkas for giant rats and thereof the name Rottnest ( rat nest). These quokkas are all wild but are very friendly and let you pat and feed them ( but only with grass and leaves that you find on the ground, we don't want to make them sick) If you want to know more about quokkas here's a link

This young bald eagle is screeching in hopes of being fed. An adult actually flew in and sat by it for a while, but didn't feed it. I left after about 45-minutes of watching it sit on this perch.
In an effort to help manatees battle the cold temperatures, Florida Power & Light's Cape Canaveral Clean Energy Center has been heating the water on an emergency basis, to prevent as many manatees as possible from dying from the cold. State and federal biologists have been feeding manatees there since mid December to stave off a mass starvation that's been going on in the Indian River Lagoon for more than a year.

i find it fascinating - the varied and differing array/combinations of shorebird feeding styles and inter species associations
and even how the feeding styles and mannerisms vary within species to suit different circumstances & food opportunities
