A farmer feeding his sheep just before sunrise on Saturday. I was driving to get to the lake by sunrise but had to stop and back up when I saw this beside the road. The farmer started to walk over to see if I needed help but waved when he saw my camera. Another mad photographer he probably muttered (I won't translate that into kiwi farmer's talk)
PS Just one RAW shot, no HDR. Amazing what shadow detail you can lift out and keep the sky colour.
A man feeds fish in the Yu Garden. I've never seen fish fight for food like this. They were literally leaping over each other to get to the food and creating so much noise I could hear it from the next section of the garden.
It was announced in 2014 that the Smithville feed mill was closing down, putting 20 people out of work. The loading dock and office is now empty. All that remains is a solitary snow shovel.
A tundra swan feeding in the hot spring creek along the Red Rock Highway. Yes, there is a feeding muskrat in the background.
Small boy with his Westie sitting on the river bank having fun feeding the ducks.

Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of swans on the Amstel in Amsterdam. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation :)
This shot is dedicated to Mirthe Duindam because she always takes the most beautiful pictures of swans...have a nice weekend :))
I've made some new movies of myself biking through the snow in Amsterdam this week, watch them on my YouTube page!
Not sure what species this is, but I followed it around for a while before I was able to capture a clean shot...
I took this with a Canon Rebel t2i. This was taken at the Oklahoma City Zoo, in a small lake that expanded the whole East side of the zoo.The zoo provided food to feed the ducks, geese, turtles, and fish. There had to be at least fifty catfish at the surface. I have never seen such a site in my life. I couldn't take any pictures without at least a few catfish in them, as seen above. There were only a few turtles and a couple geese and ducks. If you look at the pic with the goose, he had just finished pecking the turtle that came up and bit him, which is why water is dripping from his beak. This was definitely a cool experience.

A friend of mine asked me to stay at her house for 1,5 days because she went to theme parks and someone had to feed her kittens. They are sooo adorable, I Iove them all even though the one in the first picture obviously is the cutest baby.
He's a lot smaller than the other kittens.
My friends cat had 4 kittens of her own but my friend adopted 3 other kittens (the tiny grey one, the tiger and a black one) from someone who had to go back to the USA and couldn't take the kittens with her. My friends cat doesn't even know they are not her babies so she's feeding them perfectly and we couldn't be happier about that. The grey one however still stays smaller than everyone else.
In other news today I was finally able picking up a new lens for my study after saving up.... but the lens was sold out in every store. I figured photographing the kittens would be perfect trying everything out with the new lens but sadly that couldn't happen.

My husband spotted these gorgeous Rainbow Lorikeets through the bathroom window this morning. They were feeding on the yellow flowers of a tree hanging over the fence from next door.
Star was up bright and early and went outside with Alfie to feed the fishes.
''Fishies, fishies, I got food for you' called Star. Alfie grunted.
''What you looking at Alfie ? it nice and clean and them fishies are bigger than me. See them green things like rafts? They called lilly pads, they help the fishes breath, and keep the water clean''
Alfie grunted again and then hurled himself forward.
