My dad sent this Brownie movie camera to me today. It had belonged to my grandfather.

Day 10: Photo a Day: February 2012 Challenge. Theme: Keepsake.

This ring was my grandmothers ... it may not be worth much as a piece of jewellery but to me it means a lot. In memory of Ivy.

I have 3 buttons on my one-of-a-kind Timbuk2 bag (it's wool and it's rad)

A Valentine pizza for my Valentines. I used a small cookie cutter to cut the heart shapes in to the ham and pepperoni.

Day 13: Photo a Day: February 2012 Challenge. Theme: Street Art.

Found in Seddon - this piece is by Melbourne Street Artist Baby Guerilla.

#febphotoaday #sun #lmorganfebphotoaday #sunflare I almost forgot what today's theme was ....caught this on my way out the back door of my office.

It's going to be 72˚ today, and I'm meeting a friend (Mrs. Riley here on Flickr) at the farmer's market this morning, so I figured I should look pretty. I bought these shoes on ridiculous clearance in Washington state when there was still a Mervy's, so they're at least five years old. But I love them so. It was weird walking around my kitchen making breakfast for the girls and being able to look straight at the shelves in the cupboard, instead of up at them (I'm rather short).

I was going to post a picture of my awesome green zombie shirt, but I didn't like any of the pictures, so here's some mint tea I had. It was delicious, btw.

Went to a coffee shop today, and this was on the table.

William Shatner was spotted in the lobby this morning!

nancynical: LOVE.

shbastet: Photographers are artists. Just because someone has a camera doesn't mean they can create art.

mandyatlarge: @shbastet exactly.

mandyatlarge: @shbastet with the advances in camera technology, ease of use, filters and all that, it's getting easier and easier to get pro-photographer results. With the right equipment, anyone can pass as a photographer. When every shot is perfect, what is perfection?

shbastet: The definition of perfection is up to the viewer, I suppose.

I suppose this is an odd thing for a not-particularly-religious person to have on her front door, but I am proud of being a Navy family. Also I love my red front door. Some units here in military housing have green doors. Red doors are so much better.

Time. Time was a hard shot for me. I couldn't decide what I wanted a picture of. A picture of a clock or a watch seemed too obvious, too trite. I wanted something that required an element of time to capture it... something taken with a high shutter speed, or a long one.

I finally settled on painting a clock with light. This works by setting the camera to take a long exposure (in this one the shutter was open for 15 seconds), and then drawing the shape that you want with a light source. In this case, I stood across the room with a flash-light and drew a clock while the shutter was open.

I took several photos, and this is the one that I liked the most - the balance and feel of the lines are just right in this one.

The swampy mess where Emily and I took a mini photo-adventure!

Puerta de mi departamento y mi longboard,

50/366 Febphotoaday theme something you hate to do - putting gas in my car is one of those things I feel blessed to be able to afford but hate the chore and the expense of the whole procedure.

The word for inspiration today was Sun. Here in Baltimore it should have been clouds, or snow, or cold. Because there was no sun in Baltimore. So I stayed inside and continued packing up things for our move to the new house. And what did I use for packing...why a copy of The Baltimore Sun of course. So there is my theme for the day. Sun
