Drawing from the archive. The low late day sun behind me made it easy to get a nice shot of these woodies. The hen on the far left wasn't to cooperative. Taken Thursday, November 05, 2015 at 5:30 PM.
Wildwood lake, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Thanks for visiting..!!

A quiet area where ducks love to relax, they love this fallen tree.
Today the tree is deserted and the area looks sad.
These conditions were more than I could have asked for. The drive up was terrible and muddy and my truck still has mud stuck in places 3 weeks later. In the end it was all worth it for this shoot, and this one is just the beginning!!!! Vlog this weekend!! Kris.. Vlog below…
A lonely leaf on its way to oblivion, we'll, the end of the gorge at least...

A more distant view of a bridge I like, looking across the pond that empties into a stream below the bridge.
Another shot of an old favourite, from a trip last year where a quite recent storm had brought down a tree from up on the edge of the gorge. From memory it was fairly precariously rooted.
Fallen Tree
Gesneuveld tijdens de storm in januari 2018, Holterberg.
Door het zagen ontstaan er abstracte structuren waarin licht en schaduw elkaar afwisselen.

Reaching out,
from rock to rock.
Feeling the water's flow. Rushing within,
consuming water's energy. Searching for the spirit of the fall.
Listening in my mind,
flowing along the water,
a voice,
"This is as far as you go... take back what you have learned." Embracing the cold winter chill, a warmth radiated from within.
I enjoyed climbing out over the rocks to get to this spot in the middle of the gorge. Straddling a large rock, a couple of feet to my right, was at least a 20 meter drop. I had to get a shot of this fallen tree that had pinned itself between the rocks and the fall below. This is as far as I wanted to go on this day.

Another from the archives, and another from this waterfall, the fallen tree, the new growth, darkness and light...there's a metaphor or two in here somewhere!
Kind thanks to everyone who has taken the time to view, fave or comment on my photo. It is very much appreciated!

Went out when the conditions were right to portrait this fallen tree with low and diffuse light. The brown patch of grass underneath tells the story, that this tree has fallen the year before and experienced winter and spring in its new state.

A Green heron on the hunt for poliwags and such. Captured in that wonderful early morning light. Wildwood Park, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Thank you for looking!
I've always thought the flow of water over the rocks gave the outline of a hooded figure, a monk? A wizard?
On my most recent visit I noticed the old tree stump has the features of a dragon or a wyrm.
Due to heavy storms lots of wood has come down into this gorge, maybe it is not as neat as it used to be, but still fascinating and very natural!

With such splendid winter weather around (cold and sunny) we went on a lovely morning stroll to Hersham Rivderside Park along the frosted yet sunlit shore of the river mole. Such a fantastic morning light and air to enjoy and then we stumbled upon this fallen tree almost bridging the river and I had my tree image for today :)
Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!
Awww!...It's a heart... Great blue herons on the Swatara creek.
Thanks so much for visiting..!

I've been spending a lot of time in the forest preserve especially lately on long bicycle rides far away from the city. But, what I am always drawn to for some reason is scenes of desolation. These are trees that have fallen and seem to just be waiting for someone to bear witness. So, I will be the one.
