I just loved the colors and texture of all those hair elastics mixed together.

Spikelets are 7-12 mm long

and have 6-14 florets that gape at maturity; giving

the spikelet a saw edge appearance.

Pinned in, ready to sew in the elastic to prevent gapping edges. I've never sewn elastic to a knit piece, it was very nerve-wracking. If I made a mistake, there was no way to pick out black thread from the suit.

Luckily, it worked out perfectly, and now sewing elastic to a knit fabric is my favorite thing to do. :-> It makes a lovely, and of course, stretchy, edge.

Made using the tutorial on House on Hill Road.

Market Street Prototyping Festival Day 1 4-9-2015

My first bracelet, strung by me! Spotted these excellent buttons at the fabric market and just had to have them. Strung with elastic, with the knot tied by Neil because I had no idea how to tie one without it coming apart.

We save the elastic bands, used around newspapers that come into the newsroom. The result so far is a tennis ball-sized, erratic bouncer, which I use to practice hand-eye co-ordination, good for indoor soccer goalie skills!

Are we sick because we are missing home or because our home, our city, is sick? In this walk, we will ask for its history, draw out its symptoms, and discuss potential remedies for homesickness. We will examine our physical surroundings as a mirror into our collective homesickness, try out possible interventions in space and discuss the theoretical perspectives offered by urban theory and environmental psychology.

This walk holds 7 people.

One of Ben's many elastic faces. he spends a lot of time making weird elastic faces. I often wonder as Rowen Atkinson aka MrBean also spent a lot of time making faces!
