Man made waterfall inside Butterfly park in Bannerghatta. Clicked when i went for Koottam Bangalore meet.
So this is one of the modules (WIP) to my latest ww2 projec.

As soon as I saw the blue of yesterdays shot. I knew I had to use it again, but what for ?
Then I remembered I had this little wooden boat which is one of a pair that came from a charity (RNLI).
On taking it out, I remembered that it had a kinda stand on the bottom, so wouldnt sit flat on a surface. By playing with angles, I got some reasonable shots on an acrylic base, but couldnt totally lose the gap underneath. So out with the water tray :)
It is actually sat on the bottom of the tray with just a few millimetres of water around it, which did prevent it from floating around, a bit of a bonus, as it was quite a tight fit in the tray and I didnt have much space to play with. Would have been nice to have got a bit of a lower viewpoint, but I need a bigger water tray to be able to do that. I had to clone out the sides of the tray from the top corners of the pic, it really was that tight :)
The ripples were created by blowing gently through a drinking straw onto the surface of the water.
Lighting was from a trio of Neewer SF-01 mini slave flashes. One on each side angled toward the backdrop but allowing some light through tracing paper screens to fall onto the boat. These were activated by Blazzeo SLT-4 radio triggers.
The third flash was located behind and below the tray, pointing back onto the base of the backdrop and activated by its optical sensor.

For anybody who doesnt know me on flicker, this is my cat "Blacky Sylvester".... He is my Black, fur cat,... He is a short hair.... And he is a male cat.... He has a little brother named Champaz Shawn.... He came from a litter of 4 cats all males but sadly the other 2 died shortly after they were born... Blacky was the second of the litter to be born.... Blacky was born in the early evening back on 9th of November 2005!!... Blacky's breed has Siamese in him... Blacky over time has collected nicknames from myself and Jason....

FISH : Jason started that one and it stuck....

For anyone who doesn.t know Blacky.... He is battling "heart & lung worm" since 27th of May, to present, The vet has basically told me there really isn't much more she can do for Blacky, and wanted me to make some hard decisions... But my good friend on flicker , David, but you might also know him as being Zeus and Phoebe's dad....So my poor boy has had the long battle with coughing, and crackling in his breathing, not been able to get comfy like a normal cat can.... So with Blacky being on the all natural herb medicine it should take care of these nasty worms, so he can be a normal cat again and i can have MY LITTLE MAN back... He hasn't been able to play with his little brother Champaz, as the coughing always gets in the way.... So in a week or two i should start to see some improvement in my boy...
So im so grateful to have Blacky in my life and as one of my fur kids forever....

Banjo doesnt go into our pool area often so when he does he gets really excited and loves to sniff around the bushes and check everything out.
Update on the dog that came to visit. He does live in the neighbourhood and I guess the owners dont do a good job os keeping him in the yard. He's come by to see Banjo a few times now. We even found him in our house the other day. Although Im glad how Banjo has reacted I dont really want him socialising with a dog that I dont know so we're attempting to stop the visits.
Banjo fact - Banjo is going to be turning 4 years old in July. Cant believe time has gone so quickly.
......what Jessiqua finds so fucking funny.....can't be his ears....Beau has been a total dreamboat on the three day drive down...through mile after mile of snow, sleet, wind, ice, rain...he has been his good natured self but insisted in sleeping in his own bed in the motels.
This is a multi-shot hand held pano of kick off at a Rugby League match. Largely I wanted to prepare it to produce another real world example of what you can get out of these sort of 1" sensor size compact cameras.
This was shot hand held at IS800. Unfortunately I needed to shoot at the 24mm equivalent focal length which is noticeably poorer than other focal lengths on the Canon G7X. None the less, its actually a decent image with a fair amount of usable resolution.
RAW conversion done in Capture One v8.2, stitching done in Autopano Giga v4.0 and blending and processing done in Photoshop CC with some help from NIK Color Efex.
I'm so happy that Rosemary doesnt like cans - because this is the only thing that we have found so far that puts her off from jumping up ontop of objects. Today she decided to have a go at the cans and they were stopping her from jumping up on my desk, naughty cans

Showing the setup from the front doesnt always give the true story of how the lighting works. So I'm hoping this aerial view might help to show how this darkfield lighting is done. It is worth noting, an additional light was added to the front for this setup shot, to show the components a little better with all the black around :)
Lurking behind this are 3 x 20W CFL lamps. A bare bulb hidden by the black card behind the glass, which is flanked either side by another pair in Pringles tube reflectors lying on the table just below the shelf, pointing back at the white card background.
To the sides are a pair of V shaped screens, with black cards attached to the sides pointing forward and white cards on the sides facing the background. These form the channel through which the light passes from the background onto the glass.
Lurking in the gloom at the front and dificult to see in the dark (you might need to view this large) are another couple of sheets of black card, folded into a V shape to stand up, which help prevent reflections from the rest of the room appearing on the front of the glass.
Now if you can make sense of that lot, well done ;-)

Got the idea for some thing like this from a album cover i saw a while back it was a film photo edited with the subjects silhouetted to look like a designed vector but it in deed was a photo not a design thought it was pretty cool and tried it here also focused on the tower in the back not the man in the photo

WOW, 200 days into my 365 already, doesnt seem that long ago I started this journey.
Maybe I'm starting to repeat myself though :) The same subject as yesterday, but with a few subtle differences. Thought I would change the lighting around a bit and have a play at creating some fake snow.
Rather than the single flash, I brought out another couple to try and shift the balance of the light. This was in fact all about balance and it took quite a few shots to get the effect I was after.
The fake snow is just sea salt and this was probably the most difficult part to get to look right. There was a fine line between having it too dark and blown out. I think this just about works though.
Lighting was really split into 2 parts.
A pair of Neewer SF-01 mini slave flashes shot through paper screens to light the front.
While the background was lit seperately by a Yongnuo YN460 with a pringles tube difusser.
Hopefully the setup shot below will make more sense of this.
