Indonesia
Engraved bone, bamboo
Batak, Sumatra

Each dukun has his own system of signs that only his students understand. The most used ones are the Naga Padoha snake and the lizard son of Mangalabulan. Both are mythical deities of the Batak people.

De Amerikaanse gitarist Carlos Santana samen met zijn Divination Tour in de Ziggo Dome. Santana behaalde grote successen met nummers als 'Smooth', 'Maria Maria', 'She's Not There' en 'Black Magic Woman'. | Foto © Charles Batenburg
