Check out the fun-house mirror effect from this marble. Yes I said marble... as in 5/8" (15.8mm).
What I was really trying to do was figure out how to get an awesome snowflake or ice crystal shot. You know the kind... that one spectacular shot that would just blow you all away and leave you stunned with sheer amazement at my unexpected brilliance. Yeah, so that didn't work out as planned, lol.
Instead I present you with a distorted image of me, shooting a marble in a planter in the middle of my deck. The fingerprints are left over from whoever touched it last, likely several months ago.
BUT in my defense, let me tell you how flipping difficult it is to take a close up shot like this using a 70-300 telephoto/macro lens at 7 feet away on manual focus! That in itself is a feat, especially in 29 degree weather with no coat or gloves and 15mph winds.

Finally got this one under my belt at last.
A real time capsule but nature is taking back a lot of the rooms with full on decay and collapsed floors. Not to mention a shotgun wielding farmer and a bull roaming the enclosure to make matters worse. We had a chase on our hands to get out but so worth it.

Tony Stark has an unexpected reaction to the warning of Agent Helix.
Ironman: The bunker's already caved in. Unless its a low yield nuke, there's no way the explosion could travel this far. Look sweetheart, you're very pretty and I'd love to take you to dinner some time, but right now, the grown-ups are talking.
Outback: Don't talk to her like she's an idiot, Stark!
Ironman: Oh what? So she's your girlfriend now?
Outback: Are you kidding me?!?
Alpine: Uh... guys?
Ironman: Not now Alpine. Look, there are two more men trapped down there that WILL be killed by whatever explosion that Interrogator has planned. Ok, the Thing should survive, but Mr Reed Richards is gonna be blown sky high! I TOLD you that I had men trapped down there. Men. Plural.
Outback: You were nothing but cryptic, Stark! It wasn't even within the mission parameters! What the hell were you thinking?
Ironman: Clearly I was thinking that I was teamed with competent soldiers!
Outback: We had a JOB to do!
Ironman: And you dropped the ball on that one to!
Ironman and Outback continue to blame each other for the mission's failure, Agent Helix, Alpine and Captain America watch Grunt mourn the hero that is his brother, completely oblivious to the distorted priorities behind him.

This is a smaller version of my cube build from early 2024. The original cube was 24x24x24 studs all white with colourful mosaics on all sides. This one is 14x14x14 studs with a colourful base and the same white mosaic on each side.
Day 260 [9-16-2016]
Black and white. My photos for the day represent how I feel. They always kind of do but today more than ever. I am tired, lonely, and trapped. It isn't shocking to feel that way in my situation but it still sucks. I need to get out before I go crazy.
I can't wait to see what the next day brings!

Sony α NEX-6 | Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS
This lens distorts like crazy at 16mm, which I suppose is a price to pay for its compact size. However, I thought it kind of suited this shot, so I decided against using the distortion correction in the lens profile. I also went crazy with the sliders in my RAW editor, which is something I don't usually do.
Süleymaniye Camii- The Süleymaniye Mosque
An Ottoman imperial mosque located on the Third Hill of Istanbul, Turkey. It is the largest mosque in the city, and one of the best-known sights of Istanbul.
Dust go into my camera when I was changing the lens. I don't feel like photoshopping the picture. I just let the dust and noise stay with the picture.
