2023-04-14 -- Ken Tadashi Oshima, professor of architecture at the University of Washington, delivered the keynote address on the work of Isamu Noguchi and World Trade Center architect Minoru Yamasaki. The symposium is connected with an exhibition at WashU’s Olin Library, “Beauty in Enormous Bleakness,” which honors the work of architects Gyo Obata, Richard Henmi, George Matsumoto, and Fred Toguchi. All four escaped internment during WWII by enrolling in the WashU School of Architecture.

As a minimalist artist, I believe that simplicity is the key to great art, and I strive to incorporate this philosophy into everything I create. 2022-11-03 -- Each semester, Fox Fridays brings a guest lecturer to campus to run an intensive, 2-day workshop. Miriam Hillawi Abraham is a multi-disciplinary designer from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. With a background in Architecture, she works with digital media and spatial design to interrogate themes of equitable futurism, experimental conservation and intersectionality. Her workshop topic is worldbuilding in game design.
