Very different presentation from what I was expecting, but the flavors were spot-on. Mayonnaise must have been flavored with curry or similar type of spice.

Claudio Aprile reinvents the dowdy hors d'œuvre by refilling cool hardboiled egg whites with a creamy aioli seasoned yolk mixture that’s been tamis sieved. Crispy rice puffs, crunchy crystals of salt, fresh basil and orange zest finishes pop against the silky backdrop. While a meaty shard of double smoked compressed bacon spiked into the savoury rich appetizer is what all rashers aspire to be. $4/pair.

We got invited over for Easter dinner with my Mother-in-Law's boyfriend. We had a wonderful visit! Looking forward to next visit with him. We discovered several businesses we want to check out (on the way to his house).

For Easter dinner, my wife prepared a ham dinner. For sides we had okra, deviled eggs, green bean casserole, hash brown potato casserole, and cross buns. She made a lot of deviled eggs!
Food provided by our hostess with the most-ess. "Divas Day of Shopping" hosted by "Twila Makes It Happen". This event was a way for a group of women to come together and each attendee bring something from their closet/home that they no longer wore, wanted, or needed. For each item and the type of item you brought you received a certain amount of play money. The money you received was used to purchase other items brought by the other attendees. All items brought to the event were available for "sale". Great way to give something you once owned and was going to toss, a second chance with someone else. Good food and lots of fun.
Deviled Eggs . . . When I asked Mama how to make Deviled Eggs, she said to put just enough mayonnaise to wet the egg yolks, a little salt and pepper, and a few pickles.

I just got home, and for one reason or another, couldn't fall asleep, so I ended up going through a Korean social network where I had previously uploaded a lot of pictures from when I was in college. There's a lot of really random ones, including these two of a deviled egg costume that belonged to one of our friends that we found right before we left for spring break.
Oddly enough, I remember this day pretty clearly. It was the last Friday when everyone left for break, and for one reason or another, I was set to drive out to the Outerbanks (of North Carolina) the next morning rather than that afternoon. There were a few other people who were also there for the night, including Katie Mills, in the picture above, and Lee N whose egg costume it was. We spent a decent amount of time running around the Kitchin courtyard chilling in the egg suit. If you look closely on my left hand, there's a faded pen from a date function the night before that I still couldn't get off-- sooo college.
Fun fact: the face I'm making in the picture on the right is the face that I made for 75% of the pictures taken of me during that couple of years.
I guess it's just exceptionally weird to me that this was more than 4 years ago.

Mom's variation of Julia Child's Oeufs à la Diable, using less mayo, a touch of olive oil in with the butter, and a sprinkling of paprika on top of the finished halves. I piped the filling into the whites for presentation's sake, since they were going to my stepbrother's engagement party.
